Bonds Indicted
Barry Bonds was indicted Thursday on perjury and obstruction of justice charges, the culmination of a four-year federal investigation into whether he lied under oath to a grand jury looking into steroid use by elite athletes.
The indictment came three months after Bonds passed Hank Aaron to become baseball's career home run leader. Bonds, 43, parted ways with the San Francisco Giants after the season.
While Bonds was chasing Aaron, a grand jury was working behind closed doors to put the finishing touches on the long-rumored indictment.

Any thoughts on to what this means for him as a free agent? Will anyone sign him now?
10 Run Sundays
I'm sure many of you have already noticed this, but I find it very strange that we've had 10 Run Sundays each of the past three weeks while sputtering to produce anything during the rest of the week. The Cards have actually scored more runs on the last three Sundays than all the rest of the games combined.
4/22 - 12 runs
4/15 - 10 runs
4/8 - 10 runs
Sunday totals - 32 runs
Other 15 games - 30 runs
This anomaly is one of the stranger in recent memory. But for now, at least until we start to produce the other six days of the week, all I can say is I can't wait until April 29th!

World Series Commemorative Player T-Shirts
I was browsing the Cardinals Team Shop online and came across some t-shirts of the Cardinals players with the gold trim on the numbers, just like the Opening Day jerseys. Here's the link.

I was wondering if anyone has any idea where I can get the same thing, but for other players, such as Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina. I want one of the jerseys but don't want to shell out $250. This seems like the perfect compromise.
I'm So Lucky
I feel truly blessed to be a Cardinals fan. The luck that I have incurred the last three years in getting tickets to pivotal games is just phenomenal. In '04, I went to the game 7 clincher and the historic game 4 of the World Series. Although it didn't turn out well, it's not too bad for someone's first World Series. In '05, I went to the last opening day and every game of the playoffs, including that final game at Busch Stadium. This year, I went to Opening Day as well as nineteen others at the new Busch Stadium. I was fortunate enough to go to all three of the Cubs games in August, including the two Gary Bennett games. Then this postseason, in college in New Jersey, I lucked into tickets to Game 1 and 7 of the NLCS. Thanks to the first rainout, I got to go to the incredible game 2. And because of the unpredictable series this has been, I am now going to the historic game 7 tonight. I feel so fortunate to have been lucky enough to attend these games, and I believe I was meant to be at this game to win another pennant for our great city. I will cheer as loud as possible tonight, projecting all the voices back home in St. Louis for all of you watching there. This is going to be a night to remember. GO CARDINALS!!!
2006 NLCS - Cardinals vs. _______
I may very well be insane, but I am actually encouraged by our last 8 games, 5 games and even 2 games. Okay, so we've gone 4-4 in the last 8, 2-3 in the last 5 and 0-2 this series. I get that, the results haven't been there. But look at the actual games and how we played. Against the Reds in a series we had to win, we did. Other than the Reyes game, we played two of our best games of the season. In Chicago, if not for the one that got away, we would have swept in Wrigley! Again, the first game against the Mets, despite an awful outing by Weaver, we still had the lead in the ninth, where we did blow it again, yes. And that seemingly would take all the wind out of our sail. But then tonight, after another one of Mulder's rehab starts, down 10-2 we kept fighting. I don't where the fight came from but they kept coming. Once again they did fall short, but they gave the top of the order a realistic chance to tie it in the ninth. Now, if they weren't completely demoralized after two Izzy losses in three games, I find it hard to believe that an effort like this will derail them. Tonight showed me that this team is committed to doing their best, no matter what kind of adversity they encounter. Especially our position players. The pitching will come; Carp is as strong as ever right now, Sup is always consistent, Weaver has taken steps in the right direction, Reyes will be back in September with something to prove, Mulder is back and is CAPABLE of returning to form and Marquis....should be released. As for Izzy, look at him from month to month. April, June, August - bad. May, July - good. It only stands to reason that he be back to the good side for the stretch run. And although this year has been extremely frustrating with him, he has never hurt us in the playoffs and since this next month is the playoffs for us, I have no worries. For these reasons and the fact that we have a favorable schedule this next month, I am confident that we will win the Central and get by the first round. The NLCS will be tough, but if we get on a roll...well we all know how good they CAN be. Because of this newfound confidence in this team, I am going to go down to the stadium at 4:30 on Friday and Saturday morning to get First Pitch tickets. I already have tickets for Sunday. Now I'm leaving for college next week, so I'm leaving their fate in all of your hands. I'll see you all in line this weekend and GO CARDINALS!
