Nets Fans Which Would You Have Prefer?
Since there are many different opinions about our current situation, I thought maybe I should delve deeper into your minds.
1) Our Current Situation
The Nets are lead by Deron Williams arguably the Top 3 PGs in the game. Deron Williams's stats averages are 21.1 pts 3.3 rbs 8.5 asts per game. Though it is not certain the Deron Williams will commit to the Nets long term, The Nets are clearly front runners to acquire and the Preferred Destination for the league's Top #1 Center Dwight Howard, 20.1 pts 15.1 rbs 2.0 asts per game. Unfortunately due to vast injuries of many key players especially their young up and coming Center, Brook Lopez, the Nets current record is 8-22 and are in the 13 spot in the Eastern Conference Playoff Race.
2) The Alternative Situation
The Nets are lead by Devin Harris an Allstar two years ago he is a talented PG. Devin Harris' 2010/2011 stats are 15 pts 2.4 rbs 7asts per game. The Nets were in the Carmelo Anthony trade talks last year and have tried to be a player in the Dwight Howard Talks, but Howard has told the Nets he will NOT re-sign with them if traded there. Unfortunately with the vast injuries of many key players especially their young up and coming Center, Brook Lopez, the Nets current record is 8-22 and are in the 13 spot in the Eastern Conference Playoff Race.
Regardless of the Situation below still stands.
After the 2011/2012 Season, The Nets have a lot of cap space and young players to build around their current team. The Nets also have a bright future next season in the NEW Barclays Center.
Honestly, Which situation would you prefer?
Maybe Dwill Wants to Be a Net
There is no fact to this. Just my opinions.
Maybe Dwill wants to stay here. Besides the fact they are looking for a House in the area. I am into real estate so I know this really doesnt mean much.
But maybe these can be a factors:
1) Kidd, Dwill's Mentor, was very successful here, went to 2 NBA Finals with average players. Why cant he (Dwill)? Kidd eventually re-signed and got his guy, Zo, a contract.
2) Kidd, Dwill's Hero, thought the grass was greener on the other side. Decided he didnt want to stay and wanted to go to Dallas. What has that done for Kidd? nothing. He is playing with one of the Softest Players in the league that doesnt show up for big games. Kidd thought Dirk was an improvement to VC but clearly they were made from the same mold. Great scorers that cant win JACK. Dwill is from Texas and has played in the West. He must know that Dirk isnt the type of player he wants to play with.
3) That Three Super Stars doent mean JACK. Yeah Boston's big Three won 1, but this year we might see that getting rid of a ROLE player (Perkins) will be the Boston Big Three's downfall. Even the Heat with Three Stars might not get it done without the right ROLE Players. One thing is for sure, LETS HOPE Dwill is watching what is going on in CHICAGO. This is more of the Lakers mold. What DWILL can probably get if Howard doesnt come here. One STAR, ONE SEMI-STAR and a BUNCH of ROLE PLAYERS are proving the point that Three STARS isnt necessary, especially when the SEMI-STAR and Two of the ROLE PLAYERS in Chicago used to play with DWill in UTAH. DONT FORGET If DWILL just looks across the river, even TWO Stars doesnt guarantee you anything either.Yeah they are in the Playoffs but after getting Melo they looked worse then the team and Denver are just as good as the Knicks.
4) Maybe he knows something we dont. Maybe the text or call has been made. Maybe there is someone else , whether a SEMI-STAR or SUPER STAR, out there that HAS already agreed to join. Clearly, Wade had made the calls prior to the Decision. Maybe it is in fact Howard. Then Howard pulls a Lebron from last years playoffs against BOSTON. Realizing that his team isnt going to get him to the Finals and Says "F This" when the HAWKS or BULLS are on the verge beat the Magic in a Game Five. Then tells the Magic "I am OPTING OUT. Trade me to the Nets" ala Carmelo Anthony.
5) If the CBA doesnt change too much, we still have the assests and cap space to make some pretty big improvements. I am pretty sure that a lot of the current players are not coming back. Maybe what I mentioned in #4 happens. Maybe we get another STAR or SEMI-STAR. Maybe King pulls off a great trade. The bottom line is the team will not be the same NEXT YEAR.
One things if for sure, Dwill seems to be for giving the NETS a chance. He is willing to see where this is going. He seems genuinely happy to be here. So lets hope that DWILL sees these factors I have mentioned and other things.
This is a PG - Wall to Griffin
This really hurts to watch, but that is life.
if the Melo trade doesnt go down, I will be extremely ok.
We keep our draft picks. I would rather draft a star and let him grow with this team. Yeah the draft is a crap shoot but when you look at this and the Thunder. For me the bottom line is I would rather draft a STAR then trade for a star. This could be one of our players in a year or two.
