On Paul Lukas' Uni-Watch Blog he added this little item to his "ticker" section today. I didn't see it mentioned here anywhere. So I figured you guys would like to check it out.

Otis Shepard, the art director that did all that great stuff from the middle of the last century for the Wrigley company, painted up a little guide to the flags you could see around Wrigley.

The teams have changed, sure, but doesn't something else seem a little off?

A Cube in St. Louis

I'm a life-long Cub fan from Southern Illinois. While my love of the Cubs, and my career, has nearly brought me up to Chicago a couple of times. I settled down in St. Louis to be near my family.

Anyway, my fiancee surprised me with a trip to Wrigley a few weekends ago when the D-Backs were in town. While there, we watched the last two games of a sweep that finally made be believe this team is the best team in the NL, and I bought a Fukudome home jersey and a little car "W" flag.

So, last Monday the Cubs beat the Dodgers in Wrigley, and I brought the flag into my office to tack up to the side of my cube to let the ubiquitous Cardinal fans know when the Cards are going to have to win just to keep up. The plan was to of course fly it after every win, and then take it down after they lose.

The thing is, the people around here think it's going to be up all the time, because I've never had to take it down, eight games later.

I'll see if anyone says anything after it's lowered, IF the Cubs ever lose again!
