New Desktop Background: "Crimson Sky"
I have just completed another new desktop background titled “Crimson Sky”. It has the Alabama script “A” in the sky shining beams of light in every direction, turning the sky and clouds a nice crimson color. I have rendered it at every possible resolution I could think of, from 640 x 480 on up to 1920 x 1200, and everything in between. There are currently 23 different sizes to choose from.
You can download all of my backgrounds here:

Please help me spread the word.
Thanks.

1931 Rose Bowl Newspaper Articles
I have posted a series of newspaper articles for the 1931 game.
1931 Rose Bowl: Rose Bowl Rivals Leave For Battle has an interesting excerpt that states "the game will be the last for Wallace Wade as coach of the Red Elephants".
1931 Rose Bowl: Alabama’s Best is an interesting cartoon about John Henry Suther, "the Flying Dutchman of Alabama". "He's plain poison when it comes to running back kick-offs."
1931 Rose Bowl: Crimson Tide At Pasadena For Big Game has this quote from when the Washington State coach first saw the team: "Gosh, they look big".
1931 Rose Bowl: Long Aerials Score Counters For Dixie has this interesting quote: "If there was a better football player on the field than Freddie Sington, the big Alabama tackle, he kept his light under a bushel."
1931 Rose Bowl: Alabama Equal of Nation’s Best proclaims "Alabama's Crimson Tide rolled up alongside of Notre Dame today to take its place as one of the two greatest football teams of the 1930 season."
1927 Rose Bowl Newspaper Articles
I just posted a series of pretty interesting old newspaper articles about the 1927 Rose Bowl over on my blog. One of them has a headline proclaiming "Belated Rally Gives Alabama Tie For National Gridiron Titl" (sic). Here are the links to each of the articles:

Old Newspaper Clippings About 1926 Rose Bowl
I have posted the full view of the old newspaper clippings that I used in the Rose Bowl Desktop Background over on my blog. The articles are interesting to read. One article has Pop Warner predicting an Alabama loss. Another article mentions the train trip to go out there. The 3rd article talks about how Alabama was focused and got right down to business when they got there. The final article proclaims that Alabama won the National Grid Title.
The link in the title goes to the main blog page, but the articles will probably scroll onto the second page soon. So here are the links to the pages that have each of the individual articles:
1926 Rose Bowl: Coast Experts Pick Huskies As Victors
1926 Rose Bowl: Alabama’s Eleven Arrives on the Coast for New Year’s Tilt
1926 Rose Bowl: Alabama Has Hard Routine
1926 Rose Bowl: Alabama Defeats Washington Winning National Grid Title

I have two original ones up there right now. The first one has a wild west theme with wanted posters for all of Alabama's opponents this season. The games that have already been won are stamped "CAPTURED". The only poster left is the one for Colt McCoy. There is a picture of Rolando McClain with the caption "Tell McCoy I'm coming for him, and I'm bringing my posse with me!"
The second one has historical newspaper clippings of Alabama's first ever bowl game appearance in the 1926 Rose Bowl on the left side. The headlines tell the story of that first national title. At the bottom of the left side is the sheet music for Yea Alabama, which was written in response to that first bowl victory. The lone color image on the left side is a group of tickets to the BCS National Championship Game in January at that same Rose Bowl site.
The right side has several pictures commemorating Mark Ingram winning Alabama's first ever Heisman Trophy. The caption on this one reads "As an old tradition continues... a new tradition begins."
Here are some low res previews of the ones I have up there so far:
These are available in 18 different screen resolutions. If your resolution is not listed, post a comment on the blog over there and I will be happy to create it for you.
Thanks.
