SOOOOO close to saying it himself...selfish.
Said Roy: "You know, last year I would say I was kind of spoiled and I wanted things to be my way, whereas now I'm a little more understanding that I have to help change on the court to help him fit more, too. It can't just be 'How can everybody help Brandon."'
Good stuff in this article.
Phil talks fans.
Portland gets a shout out. We show "valor."
April 21 Junk
April 21 Junk
Topic: How much KGW sucks.
This feels awkward. It's been a long time. So what is new with everybody?
Did Tom ever finish his zombie movie?
Any good concerts this summer?
Will Rudy ever bust out?
I wish we had Oden for this series...and Roy. Game one kind of made me forget about all this imminent upcoming front office drama. Also the draft, what do we need? Junk junk junk junk.
Sorry if this is a repost. Just found it funny. I'm guessing those are Dallas jerseys?
Vote for Bust A Bucket
Nominated in three categories.
BRoy + LMA = 5th best +/- duo
8. Kevin Durant & Jeff Green had the worst +/- for any duo on the floor together in the NBA with -421. Not a great stat for the fake-Sonics as Durant & Green are their leaders and are supposed to work well together. The top-5 duos in order were LBJ & Williams, Bryant & Pau Gasol, Hedo Turkoglu & Rashard Lewis, Rajon Rondo & Ray Allen, and Brandon Roy & LaMarcus Aldridge.
From last year. Steve Blake will mess you up.
Skip the first minute. You have been warned.
Vote Rudy!
For best NBA dunker.
The retired jerseys of the Portland Trailblazers, according to wikipedia
"The NFL’s Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu, the NBA’s Brandon Roy and Amar’e Stoudemire, and Olympic decathlon gold medalist Bryan Clay all appeared as part of the media event in Southern California. Even Jackson showed up in videos discussing the shoe that was so much a part of his legacy.
Three NFL All-Pros, two NBA All-Stars and an Olympic gold medalist were out in force Thursday for the U.S. media launch of the Nike Trainer 1.
It was justified. The shoe has quite a legacy to live up to.
The original Nike Air Trainer was adopted and unexpectedly worn in competition by tennis great John McEnroe. It was the impetus behind the brand-elevating "Bo Knows" campaign starring two-sport star Bo Jackson. And it ignited Nike cross training.
Some 20 years later, advances in how athletes train and how shoes are made created the right moment for the Nike Trainer 1, available to consumers in the U.S. on July 1."
Oden Yardbarker Update
I remember this similar post from last year. It is Greg remembering his best friend who died in a car crash.
Must watch Blazer video: Someday
Great mix of highlights and well edited. I already can't wait until next season.

Anything to add to this article Ziller?
Something about 42 points maybe?
Vote for Bustabucket.com.....again
Round two. Vote for good Karma.
Hollinger on Joel
"Honorable mention: The leader in adjusted plus-minus this season was Portland's Joel Przybilla (-8.86), who seemingly blocks as many shots at the rim as anyone in the league and no longer goaltends two for every one he rejects. It's tough leaving him off the top three, but ultimately I have to for three reasons: (1) He didn't play a lot of minutes; (2) the Blazers as a whole weren't a particularly good defensive team, which would be an unlikely outcome if he were a truly dominant defensive center; and (3) look at the other three guys on this list and tell me which one you'd bump down."
Vote for Bust a Bucket
And for Blaze of Love

The new best thing to hit Bedge. My Brute
Get a good name before all the good ones are gone. Battle for ultimate supremacy against fellow Bedgers.
I guess Dave and Ben are too cool to explain the new features of SB Nation
Mr. Papa lays it out for us.
Mini NBA.com blurb about Roy
"The Mysteries
Player, Brandon Roy -- Until Roy actually plays some postseason minutes, has to claw his team back into a game with eight minutes left in the fourth, has to shrug off encroaching self-doubt in front of some nuts in Salt Lake City with the Blazers down 2-1 in the series; until he meets the kind of obstacles that grow more daunting in the Playoffs, I can only make educated guesses. I believe the young dude is one of the five best pressure-scorers in the League and it'll translate when it counts this Spring. But who really knows? We shall see..."
And crap like this (I wish we had won that damn game)
The Lakers are in town. Get ready for stuff like this. We also are gonna see plays like this in the playoffs. Get used to it.
GREAT breakdown of "The Stretch Run"

Junk Drawer March 3rd, 2009
Bedge history lession. Here is the first junk drawer ever.
This is a new idea...a daily fanpost where you can put all of your thoughts that maybe don't require full fanposts of their own but still would make interesting discussion. As long as the general site civility rules are followed I see no pressing need to keep comments here strictly on-topic either. It's called the "Junk Drawer" after all. That means you can get a little wacky.
We'll see how it goes. If we get enough comments and if this allows more fanposts to stay on the front page longer we'll keep it up.
