Schein's Nine: Eagles finally have WRs

8. Tampa's D is so yesterday, New Orleans' defense is today
It just looks odd on the screen, doesn't it?

Long-time Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has left the building. So has future Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks. They are changing the scheme. And despite excellent players like future Hall of Famer Ronde Barber and the grossly underrated Barrett Ruud, this defense is in total transition.

The Saints' defense is going to be much better this year.

I mean it this time.

New Orleans has a new attitude with new coordinator Gregg Williams now employing a blitzing scheme. Veteran safety Darren Sharper, first-round CB steal Malcom Jenkins and a healthy Tracy Porter improve the defensive backfield incredibly. When they come back from four-game suspensions, you can bank on DEs Will Smith and Charles Grant bouncing back from subpar seasons. The great Jon Vilma anchors the 'backers.

Drew Brees with a little defense behind? Scary thought.

The other day I told you guys I had a surprise from my wedding I thought you would all get a kick out of. Well, it is time to reveal that surprise.

For those that might not know, the tradition here in the south is to have not only your typical wedding cake but also a grooms cake that can be personalized and can have any theme whatsoever. As a surprise, Erin had a special cake made for me and kept secret until it was revealed at our actual wedding. It was created by the wonderful people at Sucre here on Magazine Street in New Orleans. Famous for their macaroons, their cake decorating abilities rival that of companies like the one featured on the popular Food Network show, Ace of Cakes.

I had a pretty strong suspicion that the cake would have a Saints theme but I never would have imagined how great it would actually turn out. Even more, she was able to personalize it and really make it one-of-a-kind. While I am incredibly grateful for all the thought and love that went into designing it, I think you guys should really take some pride in it as well.

So make the jump for a couple of pictures of my grooms cake and prepare to be amazed. And before you tell me how lucky I am and that I should make sure to never let Erin go let me just tell you...I already know. The only question that remains is, "Which do I love more: Erin or the Saints?"

CSC All-Time Saints Team Election: Wide Receiver No. 2

It's time now to vote for another member to be elected to our CSC All-Time Saints team. If you missed our second wide receiver nomination post yesterday you can catch it right here.

Coldpizza had a few other notable wide receivers but I figured we have enough on the list and none of them really have a chance of getting elected so we'll stick with what we've got. The polls will be open for exactly 48 hours which means they will close at 6am on Saturday, July 4th. You only get one vote so make it count. You can make a difference. If you've never voted in a CSC poll to date, now is the perfect time to start. Be sure to tell everyone you know to come on over and vote as well.

As always, the comment section is open for more discussion about these great players and the way things used to be.

CSC All-Time Saints Team Nominations: Wide Receiver No. 2

Now back to our election of CSC's All-Time Saints Team. This time, we will again revisit the wide receiver position and choose the second of our two ball catchers. Click here to see the original nomination post, which includes the stats for most of our nominated players, and here to view the results of that election. Since Joe Horn was selected the first time around, I will assume that the same remaining players should be nominated. If, however, you feel someone was still left behind the first time around, this is your chance to throw them in the pool for possible selection. Those remaining players still up for election are:

Eric Martin

Danny Abramowicz

Quinn Early

Marques Colston

Wes Chandler

Donte Stallworth

For those of you who were disappointed that Eric Martin narrowly missed being elected to our all-time team this is now your chance to right that wrong. Don't blow it.

The poll will open at 6am Central tomorrow morning and will be open for exactly 48 hours, ending on Saturday, July 4th.

As always, the comment section is open for more discussion about these great players and the way things used to be.
