What about Chucky???
So I have read the posts about Bill Parcells as a fit for a temp HC. So I was thinking, as dangerous as that is, what about Chucky?? I think that Gruden would be awesome as a temp fill in for HC. The only problem that I forsee, if when he takes the Saints to the Superbowl and wins, will he want to stay?? And what would that do for the fanbase?? Would we want to keep Chucky as the head coach?? Well, what are you waiting for, vote already!!!!
Not gonna buy my shirt just yet
First news I got of the suspension, I was checking Saints Nation on my Droid, and I was agast. I was dumb-founded, I was beyond shocked. Suspended for a whole year??? You have to be freaking nuts!!! What the h e double hockey sticks did goddell think he was doing? Never has a coach been suspended. Even Hoodie wasn't suspended. Draft picks, a fine, yeah whatever. But suspend Payton for a year??!!!??? And Loomis, yeah that shocked me, but not as much. I read the ESPN story and watched the video, and it didn't look good for Sean. And of course as I am writing this, trying to link the story, seems the link has been pulled. The URL is http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_id/7718136/sean-payton-new-orleans-saints-banned-one-year-bounties. Well in this story, there is a quote stating that Sean got an e-mail, granted the story did not name the source of the e-mail, and in that e-mail, there was a PS. And in that PS, it stated that GW had him down for 5000 on rogers (sic). Does this mean that there was a 5000 bounty on Rodgers, to take him out of the game?? Or does this mean that there was a 5000 bounty to get a sack on him. Cam Newton was one of the players that was named as having a bounty on him last season. I read that there was no bounties going on this year. Well, it couldn't have been for last year since he is a rookie. I also checked, seems the entire ESPN site is down right now, * oh I am crying buckets * so back to what I am saying. If this is true, then I am extremely upset, I am beyond upset. I have based my opinion on the fact that I thought these guys played as a fraternity. That they respected one another and would not look to knock someone out of a game. Imagine this if you will fellow readers, Drew has the franchise tag on him. He gets a season ending injury and it looks like he might not make it back next year. His career is ruined. And it turns out he had a bounty on his head. How upset would you be?? Do you see why Drew doesn't want the franchise tag? I do. But I also don't see why they can't come to a deal. But back to the original meaning of my post. (It really sucks having ADD and trying to write a post) So anyway, Sean should have stopped this. He knew about it and did nothing. He is the head coach and the fact that anyone would put money on knocking someone out of a game does sicken me. I know the game is played hard and well fought. I know they go into the games wanting to tear the heads off the other guys. I know that if you take Rodgers out, then the Packers might not have won, even though that Matt Flynn guy turned out to be pretty good. But seriously folks, do you want Sean to come back knowing that he approved of this going on?? Is it honorable to offer monetary compensation for possibly ending someone's career?? Until I get the facts of the matter, I am withholding my support of Payton. I want to know what was the reasoning behind the e-mail and what the hell is really going on.
OK I went on Yahoo and they had the AP story. Here is the link : http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-saints-bounties
And this is the quote
As recently as this year, Payton said he was entirely unaware of the bounties—“a claim contradicted by others,” the league said. And according to the investigation, Payton received an email before the Saints’ first game in 2011 that read, “PS Greg Williams put me down for $5000 on Rogers (sic).” When Payton was shown that email by NFL investigators, he acknowledged it referred to a bounty on Rodgers, whose Packers beat the Saints in Week 1.
How about a salary cap for other venues?
So people are arguing about how much Drew should get as the best QB in the NFL. I heard an interesting interview with Johnny Depp not so long ago about how much he makes for the Pirates movies. So far he has made about 100 million dollars for 3 movies. So basically, he is making about 33.33 mil a year for a movie. And I understand that he is being paid well for his services. He is the best actor to play Jack Sparrow, and Disney has determined he earns top money for his services. But what if there was a cap for how much actors could be paid?? Would a movie company have to have a cap limit for the movies they produce? How would this affect the quality of the movies that we view? Would the first installment of the Hobit not be as epic as it is proclaimed to be?? If you are wondering, I'm just trying to start a discussion because we don't have a Laniappe because I guess it just died off and I would like something to discuss with the best fan base in all of sports.
Here it is in a nutshell
First of all, the whole Drew Brees franchise thing doesn't surprise me. With this whole bounty gate shenanigans going on, I figured they would do something like this so the front office can concentrate on how they are gonna fix this mess. There is no fixing of this mess. The only thing to do is hold your head up high.
The problem I have is, how high can I hold it? How high can I hold my head up while "sports anal-ists like Jason Cole jump on this gravy train. Man he must have messed his shorts when this came to light. He finally has band wagon he can jump on. "Let's all hate on the Saints cause they are a dirty team."
How high can I hold my head up when "bloggers" at the DN call for the taking away of a Superbowl? He states that the Saints had a target on Fav-rah. Yeah he had a target, just like every other QB in the NFL. You really think that Drew Brees didn't have a target on him?? He states that the reason Fav-rah got hurt is because there was a bounty. He states that we told him his team should have defended Fav-rah better. Bounty or not, it should have happened. My source : http://www.dailynorseman.com/2012/3/3/2841958/my-own-take-on-the-bounty-situation
Did the Saints take money for hurting other players? I don't know, I am not privy to that sort of information. If they did, I don't think I will be holding my head up, but hanging it in shame. In shame for a team that would do something low down like this. If they didn't, and I need to see the proof that they did, then I will hold it up. I will hold it up high and say out loud and proud, "Let the haters hate!!!"
I know that there are those amongst us that believe this sort of thing happens all the time in the NFL. Heck, if I was a coach, I would be paying my players a little bit more for good plays. Plays like Colston going across the middle for a heck of a catch. Plays like a pick 6. You know, stuff to get the players motivated to play at their best. Would I want to pay my players to hurt others. Heck no, because I wouldn't want something like that to happen to me. I wouldn't want to worry about my guys getting cheap shot-ted because some d-bag wants to give another person a little bit extra just to win a game.
I have said it before and I will say it again. You have to play with these guys. The team that you hate may be the one to sign you next year. Do you think Hebert was a Falcon hater after they signed him? What about Jim Everett?? I remember when the Saints signed him, I was like WTF??? Here is the guy who led the Rams to many games against the Saints wearing the black and gold now. Now I have to root for Jim Everett?? If there was a bounty on his head, how do you think the defense feels about it now that he is playing on the same team?
There will be repercussions because the Saints payed players under the table for performance. The niners got hit with that when they got caught paying players under the table to stay under the salary cap. They got a hefty fine and lost a 3rd round draft pick. And that was pre-Goddell, so you know it's gonna be worse this time around.

Has anyone ever done the Punt, Pass and Kick competition
So in a related off-season post, I stated that I was interested in getting my daughter into the PPK for this season. She will turn six this year, so she will be eligible. I don't think my wife will approve, but the way I figure it, at least she will get some exercise and maybe help dad get some bragging rights. So, what I would like to know, has anyone here ever done the PPK with their kid or know of anyone that has done it? I know I have to get her a wilson junior rubber football and that she has to use soft soled gym shoes for the competition. I don't want to put to much pressure on her, but I was thinking that it would be fun for her to do. If someone could give me some pointers or what not, I would appreciate it. Thanks
For all the LSU fans out there
I know this is not the LSU SB site, but since there are a lot of LSU fans here, I thought I would share this.
Those Dirty Saints
Ok so I am officially getting tired of reading all this press about how dirty the Saints are. And this is coming from the same team whose DC said screw the fines, I want you to hurt those guys. Seriously, the same team that has Cort Finnegan. One of the dirtiest players in the league. And the facemask by Harper, I mean he wiffed the tackle and so he wanted to save the TD. Any DB would have done the same thing. It's not like he stomped on the guy or something. Harper dirty???? where's the tape. What has any of the Saints done recently that would warrant calling them dirty. It's not like their the fowlclowns/dirty birds. It's not like it's the Steelers D out there. This is the New Orleans Saints and they are not a bunch of dirty players. Can I get an Amen??
Why I love Jimmy Graham
It's an easy thing to say. I think a lot of us have professed our man-love, and even some woman-love of Jimmy Graham. I know that when we drafted him, I was thinking, who is this guy? He has only played football for one year?? That one year of football was very productive. 17 receptions for 213 yards. Granted, he had no real football experiance, but his size and athletic ability was more than enough to spark the interest of Payloo. I thought he was a very good alternative to Shockey, and granted I was on the Shockey band wagon when he came to New Orleans, but Shockey was getting injured too often. I think that Shockey played with too much heart, if that was possible, and put himself in situations that would end up injuring him. I liked the fire that I saw in him. But that fire was passed on to Graham. Take for instance the Green Bay game, after the touchdown, when he did the Aaron Rogers belt thing, I was like "Oh no he didn't." But yes he did. He has attitude and the ability to take charge of a game. He is Breesus' favorite target IMHO, and he gets the job done. He is what TEs will be modeled after, especially with the likes of Gonzales, who also played basketball. I see him, after he makes a catch, holds the ball out and drops it. Yeah he knows he is the shinizzle and I hope he stays that way.
NFL players thank the fans
I don't know you views on the lock out or whatever, the only thing I like about this video is the shot at the end is of the Saints holding up number one
Going into next season
Since I have not said anything about the draft, cause I really don't follow college football that well, I have abstained from any serious talk about who we should take and what not. The only thing I have talked about was the lockout and impending season. For now, since next season's schedule is out, I am going to talk about the teams we are going to play and how I think the games are gonig to pan out. I do not have the great insight into teams like others do, I just call them as I see them.
Game 1. Da Packers: Well we are playing in Green Bay and that will mean it will be a difficult game. Green Bay has a great team and a great QB. Their defense is awesome, and their offense is pretty darn good also. If they can someway come up with a way to run the ball against our run D and put points on the board, I think they might pull it out, but being a homer, I am going to call the Saints for the win on this one.
Game 2. Da Bears: Every time I think of da bears, I throw up a little in my mouth. I still have bad feelings from the 06 NFCCG. I knew that the chance of us winning in the snow was slim to none, but still.... I wanted it so bad. But I don't think the bears have the same team now that they did back then. I think the Saints pull this one out.
Game 3. Da Texans: Well what can I say, unless this ends up like Cleveland last year, I think the Saints can pull this one out.
Game 4. Da Jags: This is where I think that the Saints might come up with their first loss. MJD is going to have a killer day and run all over us and Jacksonville is gonna take this one at home.
Game 5. Da Pants: Do I need to say anything...... really???? I mean seriously, it's the Panthers and I think we are gonna take this one from them on their own soil.
Game 6. Da Bucs: Well, well, well..... this is going to be one very interesting game. This will really see how the Bucs have improved in their passing game as well as their defense against the rush. If we get some Ingramania going on, then we might be able to take them on the run game, and if it's Kerrigansanity, we might be able to disrupt their passing game, but I think that the Bucs will take this one cause it's home field and they are an up and coming team.
Game 7. Da Colts: It's gonna be the SupaBowl all over again. We are gonna take Manning to the cleaners because he really doesn't have the support he needs. He doesn't have it in the backfield and he doesn't have it on D.
Game 8. Da Rams: Meh, it's the Rams and if Jackson has another game like he did last time, it might get interesting, but I think not. 2nd year QB Bradford has shown some good skills on the field, but I think that the Saints secondary will show him how it's done.
Game 9. Da Bucs (again): Here is where we get our revenge and take it at home.
Game 10. Da dirty birds: Last year was a fluke and we will show them that matty ice will lose again at home. It will be at this time of the year that teams will start to fall into contention for the playoffs and wild cards. I think that after the Saints serve up dirty bird gumbo, people will talk about the Saints being a serious contender for another title. Going into the bye week, our running game is going to be beat up and we are going to really start to stress over how we are going to set out the rest of the season.
Game 11. Da G-Men: I think that Eli is starting to show that he is not the QB everyone thought he would be, In fact, I think that he will have a terrible game against the Saints.
Game 12. Da Lions: Stafford is a good QB and the Lions D is really starting to come together Suh was a great pick up for them and I think they are gonna stuff our run pretty well. I am hoping that Brees will be able to air it out and that our wide outs will have a steller game in front of the home crowd. I know a lot of people are thinking the Saints are gonna tank this one, but I don't.
Game 13. Da Tits: I call them that cause I dated a gal from Tennessee and she said that is what they call them. Well, I don't know about this game. I don't have a good feel cause I don't know which QB is gonna show up. Young has shown glimmers of greatness, so I am giving this game a toss up cause it is an away game.
Game 14. Da Queens: I don't like the Queens. I never had and I never will. I hope they never win another game.... ever. If they moved the team to Cali, I still wouldn't want them to win. They have tossed the Saints out of too many playoff games and the fans are not nice people. The leadership at the DN is lacking any class whatsoever and therefor I will never pick them over anyone.
Game 15. Da dirty birds: (see above)
Game 16. Da Pants: I am hoping that we wont have to play this game. I am hoping that we will have something locked up. Not that it worked last year, but I am hoping that we are sitting starters cause we are going into the bye....
and on that note I hope you can add a little something to my post and I hope that I am right about the wins and wrong about the losses ;-)
Saints Most Valuable Protector
You can vote for Stinch as the Most Valuable Protector
Run Baby Run
The Flying Frenchman is going to be back for the Rams game. Reggie is back for his second game since his injury. And of course it was brought up during the Bungles game that Reggie does not do well in the first game back from injury. He has had plenty of data to back that up. With that being said, does this mean that Reggie is going to have a lights out game against the Rams?? Is Pierre gonna show Ivory what it means to be the most productive back for the current dynasty? Is Pierre gonna fight for a new contract next year? And where the hell does SP get all these undrafted RB's that tear stuff up?? Wasn't Pierre an undrafted rook? And Lance, he was undrafted also. Man someone has a magic 8 ball in their back pocket or something. Betts is on IR, but that doesn't matter since he wont be with the Saints much longer. Maybe just long enough to get his ring. JuJo probably wont make it to next season either. So if both get released at the same time, what does that do to my ACC index?? But to more pressing matters, what the heck are the Saints going to do with PT, Reggie "Wood" Bush, TUSK!!!, and JUJO?? Honestly, I don't think that JUJO will get that many carries. It honestly depends on how PT does next week. If he acts like Wood did last week, JUJO might get more carries. Did everyone also forget that TUSK!! also fumbled the ball last week?? Like GMWang said in his blog, he already has doubled the amount of carries he had last year in college. Maybe he has almost reached his EOUL (end of useful life) for this season. And just maybe I am talking out of my (0). Personally, I think that PT is gonna light it up against the Rams. I am not sure about Wood, but I am hopeful. The Rams are ranked 14th overall in rushing defense and I am hoping that the Saints O-Line gets their act together and give whichever RB is carrying the ball, the chance to break it through. When it comes to running it up the gut, I think the team will give it to TUSK!!! But, I think we are going to see more of the PT screen passes, and I think that is something that the Rams will be looking for. PT is the dump man for the screen and he is good at help chip the blitz.
Ivory's NickName
I know that we don't have the ear of any of the Saints management, but I did note in a tweet a couple of weeks ago that Ivory said he needs a nickname. Does he not know he already has one? I am not a tweeting kind of guy, but maybe somebody can let him know. I know that Dave sees some of the Saints come in his shop and maybe the next time one rolls in for another robe, maybe he can mention it to them. Kinda like a "Hey what do you guys think about that Chris TUSK Ivory kid?" and see if they pick up on the nickname.
Wish I was a Chiropractor

Man, with all the bandwagon jumping, I wish I had gone to Chiropractic school. I mean, I was watching the Panthers game, and the commentators were of course talking about the best teams in the NFL. These were the same people that talk about how bad the Saints were doing, how we are suffering from the Superbowl hangover. Kinda like that fan who had the sign during the Browns game, you know who I am talking about. Now that the Saints have beaten "the best team in the NFL", aka the Steelers, once again MSM has jumped on the Saints bandwagon. Seems that the Saints are still averaging a 9 spot after last weeks win against the Steel Curtain, but I am sure that after the showing they produced yesterday, they will move up a bit. But once again, the MSM is talking about how good the Saints are. How "suprisingly well the Defense is doing" but in the same breath, they throw up the 7 defensive TD's last year to our one this year thanks to Greer. The final drive by the Panthers was kind of a let down because we did let them drive down the field into FG range. The commentators were talking about how GDUB doesn't want to let the Pants score a TD. Well, honestly, I think GDUB would rather have all his starters healthy and let them get a pity TD then have Porter or Greer get hurt. Yeah it's kinda nice to stop that last TD drive, but I want my guys healthy instead. I jumped on the goal line stance last week bandwagon and I stated that that series of plays really showed what our defense is capable of doing now. We are no longer the offensive powerhouse that has to throw up 40 burgers (.... mmmmm burgers) just to have a cushion because our defense is so weak that we let teams score on us at will. We are the 4th rank defense in the NFL. When was the last time our D was that good?? Back in the Dome Patrol days?? I am sure CP will clue us in if he has the inclination or the time ;). The win by a "desperate" Saints should have proved to the MSM that we are indeed the SuperBowl Champs until someone else comes and takes it from our cold dead hands. I have heard all the talk about injuries and how good we would be if only we had our players back. Well, personally, I believe that as a team, we have shown that we can overcome adversity and win games with our major play changers out of the game. I am missing me some Pierre screen passes for the TD. We have one of the worse red zone offenses in the league. I attribute this to missing Pierre and Reggie, but mainly to red zone ints by Breesus. I know that he has the most TDs in the league, but he also has the most INTs. In Breesus we trust, he has given us a Lombardi, and for that he will always have a special place in our hearts,

How about that Saints D??!!???
The Saints defense did not allow any passing or rushing touchdowns in the game with the Cards. The fumble was not considered an offensive touchdown cause basically, he fumbled the ball and anyone could have recovered it. The Saints run defense looked pretty good, but the special teams, sheesh they looked bad. Giving the cards the ball at midfield is never a good thing. So for all the things that went bad in the game, I actually liked the way the Defense looked. What do you guys think?? I still think that P Rob isn't worth the first round pick we gave for him, but I am really hoping he figures what the heck is going on. Honestly, I don't see him lasting till next year if he doesn't start playing like a first rounder. Sure he was picked last in the first round but it's still a first round pick we used on him.
Vindication
Is it me or does there seem to almost seem a sense of vindication?? I see commercials about football. Games that are coming up, little highlight stuff and finally, FINALLY I see Saints highlights. I remember back in the day that I would watch those commercials just waiting for a glimpse of a Saint doing something. Usually, it was someone catching a pass over a Saints head or something like that. Even in the Cha-Ching days, it was a few and far between highlight glimpse you would see on TV. Now it seems that the Saints are actually starting to show up on some of these commercial breaks. The only problem that I have is that it seems to be the same clip of Reggie diving for the end zone or catching a pass. The perfect shot of the #25. LIke it's an add for his jersey or something. I can't complain tho because like I said, I feel vindicated for all those seasons that no one thought the Saints were good enough to put on a commercial, and here we are, Superbowl Champions, and at last making the hightlight footage
Best News for a fan so far this season
Whereas this news is not entirely Saints related, I wanted to share the news with my fellow WhoDats!!! So it turns out that the missus and I have had enough of the run around that the cable company has given us, so we have decided to try to cut our bill. Well part of that was going to DirecTV and guess what. NFL Sunday Ticket for free all season long!!! Yes you heard it right, this west coast Saints fan will be enjoying all games all the time. I will be able to watch the games on my Droid as well. I am so freaking exciting that I almost started jumping for joy.
Patrick Ramsey?? Seriously??
So the Saints are evidently going to sign Patrick Ramsey to be a back up quarterback to Drew Brees. Like most of us at CSC, I think this is a serious flaw in their thinking. He hasn't been in a meaning full game in how long?? I understand that some experiance is needed, and if we were going to rely on experianced QB's then maybe we should have let Chase throw the ball instead of Brunell at the end of the season last year, he certainly couldn't have done worse. So now the Saints are waiting until Thursday so they can make the deal for Ramsey. I seriously wanted Jason Campbell, but he has already been picked up by the... Raiders I think, yeah it's with the Raiders. I know that we can come up with a better solution than Patrick Ramsey, but who knows, he might be the next Kurt Warner, or Ryan Leaf........
Why I hate Tiki Barber
So I was watching the interview on the Yahoo Sports home page and Tiki was, as usual, making an a** of himself. He was asking Drew the same questions everyone has asked him. What has this championship done for you and for the city blah blah blah and then he goes into the Madden curse thing yakity shmackity, listening to this while I was checking other things, and then low and behold he drops the bomb. He states how we were outplayed in the NFC championship game against the Vikings and how was the rematch going to stack up. I was watching the video and I swear I saw a look of surprise on Drew Brees' face and I was like it must have taken a ton of self-control to not shove that ring into Tiki's face and say, yeah if we were so out-played, how come I have this and you don't SUCKAA!!!!!! But that's just me. I should have expected this coming from the same person who picked against the Saints all of last year and said that a loss would do them good going into the playoffs. I mean really, why does he hate on the Saints so much??
Here is the link to the video, I wasn't able to embed it, meh.... http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/nfl/Y_Sports_NFL/19352575
If I wore a wig, do you think he would notice the goatee??
So I was reading on the Saints Yahoo page, http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Single-long-haired-tight-end-seeks-love-on-Face?urn=nfl,233617 and I was wondering if I could post a video on Shockmeister's facebook page or if this "girl" posts a video, if he would take the bait... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK7wW-qj2SY I am not sure how to embed the video so you will have to follow the links to see the video. I think if I had a long enough wig I might be able to hide my facial hair, LOL!!!
Jason Campbell to the Saints??
So it sees that with McNabb out of the picture in Philly, that the RedSkins are going to make him their starting QB. I have also read that this means that the 'skins are also going to let Jason Campbell go. Do you think that this is an avenue that the Saints should take? Thay they should maybe try to see if they can pick up Campbell cheaply as a back up for Drew. I know we have Chase, but Campbell has actually played, and almost beat the Saints last year (if not for a missed field goal). So what do you say WhoDats?? Should we pick him up if the price is right?? The story that I read about the possible release of Jason Campbell is as follows:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Atd8hysXblcw4p2DkGB7MW3.uLYF?slug=ap-eagles-redskinstrade
Could be the sleeper the Saints need
Check this guy out. I have not heard his name mentioned except for the one time I posted it, and no one said anything so I am writing a post to see what you think. Here is the link again: http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1053376
I think that this guy is a beast. I would rather try him out on DL then OL because he is so tall. I think Drew migh have some problems seeing over this guys head. Which would be good for opposing QBs. It would be like having our own brickwall set up on the line that the QBs can't see over and will have to throw over. What do you guys think??
I still hate Jim Rome but....
OK I still hate Jim Rome and I really think that Jim Everett should have been able to get a couple of more shots in, in case you forgot, here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uczUKTwgqeY
so even though I still think he is a D Bag, he did move up a couple of notches, he is still in D Bag territory but hey at least he redeamed himself a little bit with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdxtPngEX64
And the H8ers just keep on coming
While I was reading the articles about the Saints, well because what else is there to do when your team just won the Superbowl, I couldn't help but notice that one again the rumors are flying about Bush leaving. Peter King doesn't seem to think so because even though Coach Payton is a genius, football people don't look at Bush the same way Payton does "The other question is whether they'll allow Reggie Bush to walk in trade. No question there will be some interest out there, particularly by Seattle, with former USC coach Pete Carroll there, but my hunch is that Payton, who likes Bush more than most football people do because of the change-of-pace he provides for the offense, will figure Bush, at 24, will continue to make enough plays to justify his $8 million salary in 2010. I think the Saints will keep him." So does Peter King think that Payton will keep Bush even though he shouldn't?? And then he starts on this the Saints are celebrating too much "The logical question for the Saints: Is all this celebrating and spate of parades -- the Saints' Super Bowl parade was so big that it was shown live on CNN with Wolf Blitzer throwing to reporters in the middle of his "Situation Room'' show -- going to go on so long that they effect the Saints' ability to repeat in 2010? Teams in the Super Bowl are so far behind the preparation 8-ball already, finishing the season five weeks after the 22 non-playoff teams." I am sorry but it has been 42 years since the Saints have been to the Superbowl, I think some partying should be going on. Even if the Saints don't make it to the playoffs next year, how many of us fans are going to forget this season??? It's bad enough with all the whinneying colts fans crying in their Payton Manning Wheaties, that we have to get it from the mainstream media also. Please will somebody get this guy off the Internet?? He has nothing but bad things to say about the Saints all season long. It's still February, let the boys get their partying done, Loomis is already getting ready for next season.
The Best Part of the Game Besides Winning
I know that there are a lot of stories out there of fathers hugging sons and die hard fans that have waited 40+ years for this to happen. I would like to start a thread where we as Saints fans can come together and tell our stories. I want to know what was the best part of the game, besides the winning. What was it about that game that brought a tear to your eye? Was it the sharing of emotions with a loved one? Was it knowing that a passed loved one was watching this game as you looked to the heavens and could sense the smile on their face as the game winning field goal soared through the uprights? For me, it was watching it with my 3 year old daughter. This whole season she has actually looked forward to watching football with me and it was a blast. When I got my Drew Brees jersey for Christmas, and the first game I wore it while I sat at home watching the game, she wanted one for herself. I have not been able to find one locally for her in time for this game, but that is ok, she will have one for the Superbowl if God is on my side. But the best part was when Drew Brees took the field. She screamed, Daddy your on TV!!! Daddy is playing football!! I laughed and said yeah sug Daddy is on the TV. After the first series was over, she wanted to know where Dad went. I told her that she was going to have to wait because it's the other guy's turn. Oh she says. Then Drew takes the field again and I didn't have to say anything. She saw that number 9 and she knew who it was. I am not saying that I am going to file a paternity test against Drew, because I am quite sure he cannot be her father LOL, but it was still funny. At the end of the game I told her that Daddy's team won, and she was quite happy with that. Being able to share the beginning of a Dynasty with my daughter made this game priceless. I just can't wait to see the look on her face when she get's her own Drew Brees jersey, just like Daddy.
Avatars
I have noticed that a lot of us have adopted Hasdat's avatar. It is a picture of the lombardi trophy. I think that it is the belief of all the Saints fan here that the Saints are going to bring that trophy home to New Orleans. Therefore I am calling on the members of CSC to show your support by changing your avatars to the lombardi. I know that some of us look at the avatars to tell whom we should read and whom we should skip over. I think that, for this playoff season, that we should show a sense of coming together and all change. What do you think??
