They only list a top 5, but all 5 are in the West, 3 are in the NW division, and the Rose Garden comes in at #2

There have been many games where the refs have been taken completely out of the game by the crowd. The best examplewas the Phoenix, Portland game 3. Brandon Roy comes back, the Willis Reed moment, but in the last 8 minutes of the fourth quarter I think Portland just got every call. There was a terrible, terrible, terrible, awful flagrant foul called on Channing Frye that was just a joke. It was really one of the worst calls we've seen in the history of the playoffs, and a couple other bad ones, and it just became clear that the crowd was controlling the refs...and congratulations to them, that's what a crowd is supposed to do.

You know what really killed Dunleavy? The 2009-10 Portland Trail Blazers. He couldn't rope Donald Sterling and L.A.'s front office into the whole "we'd be doing great if we didn't have all these injuries!" excuse for the fourth time in seven years as the decimated Blazers keep chugging along toward 50 wins losing a key guy every other week.

Simmons finally shows our Blazers a little love

Blazer's Edge Conspiracy Theory

After watching just a one preseason game (Bulls/Jazz) listening to one (almost two now) and checking box scores on the rest, I have come up with a theory...

Could it be they still can't get over the fact that they took Bargnani instead of both Roy and Aldridge? I mean, this is one of the most hateful columns I've ever read. What are your thoughts?

This is a poll on the real GM front page asking who will have the better career Roy or Durant, let's show them what Blazer nation can do to a poll like this

Speaking of using your body to your advantage ... Greg Oden is clearly the biggest dude here, and he's been the biggest force on the boards. Offensively, he's still got a ways to go (Russell Westbrook stripped him in the post when he put a dribble down on one play), but he's been very active underneath the basket.

I don't like the writer much, but he does list Portland as a team with a shot at the hardware.

-Portland dangling Greg Oden to try and get into the top 5? A number have teams say they are hearing that, although it could all be coming from the same source. A Trailblazers executive we spoke with emphatically denied that they would even consider trading Oden.

Blazer's Edge Blazers road woes

I have heard and read a lot about how bad the Blazers are on the road.  I've heard that we can't win in the playoffs because we are awful on the road.  I wanted to see just how true this is, and this is what I came up with.

Chad Ford: (1:09 PM ET ) It's an issue in one sense. GMs have a way of falling in love with their young players. That leads them to overvalue their own talent. They become afraid to let them go because they think they may just be another year away from stardom. Thus ... you see the Blazers reluctant to include Nicolas Batum in a deal even though he's given them little sign that he can be a great NBA player. It's tough when you're so close to the situation.

Blazer's Edge Unleashing the Beast

There has been a lot of talk lately surrounding the "underwhemling" play of Greg Oden during the preseason.  I personally think he's right about where he should be,  but I'm sure others would disagree with me.  With this in mind, I have been trying to figure out what might "light a fire" under the big man.

Poll
What will it take to unleash the beast that is Greg Oden?
Being bullied by another strong center

Being dunked on by a little guy

Seeing that little guys are making bets about dunking on him

Oden isn't a beast and therefore has nothing to unleash

This post is stupid, Oden is already a beast
