New DC not Del Rio, it's Mel Tucker
Jack Del Rio is not the Defensive Coordinator for the 2009 season.
Coach Jack Del Rio hired former Cleveland defensive coordinator Mel Tucker to replace Gregg Williams, who left after one season in what his agent called an "amicable divorce."
Tucker spent the last four years with the Browns, serving three seasons as defensive backs coach and one as defensive coordinator. He also has eight years of college experience, including four at Ohio State.
I don't know how everyone came to the conclusion that Jack was taking over at DC but that is not the case. Just wanted to let you guys know..

Tom Williams departs for Yale
Assistant coach Tom Williams has left to go to Yale according to ESPN. Here is an article with the full story: assistant Tom Williams has been hired at Yale, becoming the first black head football coach at the Ivy League school.
A person familiar with the decision confirmed the choice Monday on condition of anonymity because a formal announcement had not been made. The school called a news conference for 2 p.m. ET Wednesday to introduce the new coach.
Williams will become only the second black head football coach in Ivy League history. Norries Wilson was the first when Columbia hired him in December 2005.
The 38-year-old Williams has spent the past two seasons working with the Jaguars' defense and has been an assistant coach at Hawaii, Washington, Stanford and San Jose State.
"I am happy for Tom," Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said in a text message to The Associated Press. "He has shown strong leadership qualities and is a very good communicator. This is a great opportunity for him."
Williams replaces Jack Siedlecki, who retired in November after 12 seasons to become an assistant athletic director at Yale. Siedlecki was 70-47 at the school, including 47-37 in the Ivy League. He led the Bulldogs to a share of the conference title in 1999 and 2006, but was just 4-8 against rival Harvard and had lost seven of the past eight games against the Crimson.
Yale went 6-4 this season, including 4-3 in the conference and a 10-0 loss to Harvard in the 125th edition of "The Game."

BREAKING NEWS: Fred Taylor's done for the year
It's over guys. Fred Taylor was just put on IR around lunch. Don't worry though, his press conference today made it seem like he will definitely be back next year. I really wish him all the best. Here is an excerpt detailing today's events.
Jaguars running back Fred Taylor will miss the rest of the season because of a thumb injury.
Taylor will be placed on injured reserve for the final three games after tearing ligaments in his left thumb Sunday at Chicago. Taylor had hoped to play though the injury, but a second opinion confirmed the need for season-ending surgery.
“I’m going to play football and I’m going to play football here,” Taylor said in his farewell press conference, which he used to reaffirm his intention to continue his career and remain with the Jaguars in 2009. “As long as I know what my role is, I’ll embrace it and go forward.”

Peterson reinstated
Mike Peterson and Coach Del Rio apparently settled their differences and Mike is now able to join th team at practice. This morning, they met and discussed the Peterson's future and it seems as if Peterson has chosen to admit he was wrong and to move on as a Jaguar. Seeing that him and Del Rio are on better terms now, this probably means Mike will be active on Sunday.
Just wanted to let you guys know because this story came out about 5 minutes ago.

Positive Outlook
In a few weeks, after hopefully beating Detroit and Tennessee, Jags fans will once again believe that we have a shot at making the playoffs. Two wins in a row would leave us at 5-5 heading into the final six games. It would also probably leave us 1 game out of a wild card spot. With a home game at Minnesota after this, followed by a showdown with the Texans on Monday night, I cannot help but feel we are still in this. Some people may think I'm crazy but in two weeks, many people will feel the same way I do.
