Does anyone else see shades of the '07 Blazers in this year's Sacramento team?

I'm sure many of you have seen this since it was posted on OLive, but here it is for posterity. Jason Quick interviewed about Blazer issues.

My favorite line(s): "A quick way to piss off LaMarcus is to use the word "soft" when describing him...last season he literally b****-slapped Kevin Garnett."

Blazers: Nate McMillan (12-year playing career), Monty Williams (nine NBA seasons) and Maurice Lucas (5-time All-Star in his 14 year career between the ABA and NBA)

There are some good players on here (Ewing, Kareem, Sikma spring to mind), but I like the Blazers' chances here.

What do you think?

K Dwyer was probably afraid of the blunt, heavy objects that would be e-hurled at him by angry Blazer fans if he included Greg.
(For some reason Petteri Koponen is one of the related links...we'll have to see about that)

This list takes into account how well teams fared during the offseason (so far). Pretty good placement, even though we are behind Denver. Opinions?

Just about as inane as you'd expect, with Darius Miles ahead of both KP and Macmillan. Oh well, at least this structure makes sense with really small paragraphs.

In case you didn't catch it. Andre "just drivin' around" answering Canzano's questions. Interview starts a little over a third of the way through.

(Or is the offseason suddenly a success?)

And from Andre Iguodala's twitter: "Practice is over and I got the worst news of the day… Dre Miller signed with portland…ruined my day…what the @#!¤?"

Ouch, um...sorry?

"Lee's agent is still hoping the Portland Trail Blazers make him an offer to boost his leverage"

Apparently that's all we're good for. I mean why would anyone actually want to play in PORTLAND? Yick.

Also: NY times: If you follow the moving money trail of the Portland Trail Blazers, it appears to lead straight to David Lee

Talks about the draft, the team, his game and his future plans

The T-wolves' Roy envy is well documented, but now we have more players to covet. And with Rudy's alleged discontent, they see an in (and if I was a wolves fan, I'd want a 2 guard too). Seems like the idea is Flynn for Rudy or some such deal, so- yes or no?

Lots of quotes, and gives a fairly nuanced assessment of his game.

Some Bedgers have already discovered this one, but I thought I'd post it anyway. They seem to hate it, and I have to admit this doesn't make much sense from their perspective. Oh, well, first pritch-slap (more like a pritch-tap), hopefully of many.

Has Harden going #2, we get Cassipi. Personally, I think Minnesota made the move with Washington to make a play for Curry (with Foye gone), but here he goes to Golden St. at #7. Other than that, no huge surprises, this just further highlights that we are currently on the outside looking in at the interesting parts of this draft (which is a good thing overall).

Personally I think it is all a ruse. But "thinking it's a ruse" is just speculating about speculation. Hmm...well it is the offseason I guess. And I know the same article this blog is quoting from was already posted, so you need not mention that; I'm just trying to give the Orlando perspective. My opinion: let them pay him eight figures.

I have never associated the NBA with high architecture. Just look at the Rose Quarter. Now, Frank Gehry's design for the new Nets stadium has been scrapped because it would have held up traffic. I think it's because it would have challenged people's perceptions too much...TOO MUCH!

This summer, with Rudy pursuing a career in sketch comedy, LMA is dipping into politics. Holdahl has the scoop about an Obama fundraiser attended by our beloved Aldridge. Obama is a known NBA fanguy, so I'm sure they had a lovely chat. Aldridge for first NBA President? (sorry Bill Bradley).

"To meet Obama and to hear him speak and to hear other people share their views about Obama was cool. He talked about trying to be a better person by learning from the things that he had done wrong, talking about things we can do to put this country in a better position." -Lamarcus Aldridge

Maybe this will give LMA inspiration about what HE can do to put the BLAZERS in a better position. (See what I did there?)
