Track Em Tigers Cam Newton Arrogant?

Ok, I must admit that I creep on over to other blogs, just to check out the general perception of our Tigers. The most interesting opinions that I have come across are the broad generalizations that Cam Newton is all about Cam Newton, and cares little for the team, or Auburn People in general. This notion is generally connected to the "unstoppable" comment on ESPN's College Football Final (which I have yet to see). He's even getting flack for giving credit to God for his ability.

In every interview I have seen or listened to, Cam has given credit to his teammates, and simply seems to be a young man having fun, grateful for his opportunity. I suppose all the hate thrown his way is due to recent media exposure. He's one of those athletes that you get tired of hearing about, unless he's playing for your team.

Track Em Tigers Questions about A-Day

Hello, all.

I was just wondering about A-Day. Somehow, I've never attended one, but am planning to make the trek down from Sand Mountain this year. I'm especially interested in the autograph session. Will there be anyone selling pics of the team or individual players there? I was thinking of ordering some from AU's website, but would like to patronize vendors at the event, if possible. If you go, just look for me. I’ll be the gigantic bearded guy in a Bo Jackson jersey.

Behind the Steel Curtain Notes From a Casual Fan

Notes From a Casual Fan

Hello Steeler Nation.  Just wanted to give you some insight from Alabama and tell you what I think is an interesting story.

I was born and raised here, but my father grew up in Lewistown in central PA. I grew up hearing about Penn State, more than anything else. Apparently, college football rules the central area of the state, and he didn’t really direct me at all on Pro Football.  I went out for pee-wee football in 1982, and came home with a yellow number 75 jersey. My dad asked me what team I was on, and when I said the Steelers, he said "Hey! What’s up, Mean Joe?" I was hooked on the Steelers after that…at least for a little while.

Like most of the people of the South, my interest turned towards college football. I actually became an Auburn fan because of how all the Alabama fans treated my Penn State supporting father. I casually rooted for the South’s only team, the Atlanta Falcons (no, Florida doesn’t count), and when my favorite player, Bo Jackson went to the Raiders, so did my allegiance.

I’ve always had a special relationship with Pittsburgh. In all the sports that matter to me, my 1st time watching a professional baseball, football, and hockey game was an Atlanta team vs. a Pittsburgh one. It was never really on purpose, it just worked out that way.

Now, I will always root for the red and black over the black and gold, and I will always argue that the "Immaculate Deception" hit the ground, but I love the Steelers anyway. When my teams lose to the Steelers, it doesn’t hurt as much. I love the way the organization is ran, I love the style of play you guys use, and the fan base is amazing.  Added to all this is the fact that my best friend is from Pittsburgh. Maybe God is trying to tell me something.

This is by far the best blog on SB Nation. I love the rhetoric, the old stories, and how much you guys hate the other damnnable teams in your division. Keep up the good work guys.
