Nobody messes with DeJesus, but I would not be opposed to a Wade Davis for DeJesus straight up trade. Anybody have any info on his contract status? I think he is FA after this year so if we could get him for 4/16 we could get a hell of a ballplayer to complete that OF.

Year after year a GM has tough decisions to make when it comes to filling the inevitable hole or two that develops in a lineup. With the current Collective Bargaining Agreement some teams end up at a significant disadvantage due to the constraints of budget and competition. Certainly, there are many good players that are worth the money that will be lavished on them, and there are always up-and-coming rookies that can't wait to break into the big leagues and show what they are capable of.

A certain Front Office Triumvirate (F.O.T) has realized another stream of talent that could be the newest market inefficiency. Every year there are players that have not played up to their potential through their final year of arbitration, or for some into their Free Agent years. These players can be considered Freely Available Talent (F.A.T.). These players represent failed promise or have been battered by injuries, but inside they still have a fire that burns to prove their critics wrong. By picking right the savvy front office can plug a hole without having to break the bank or give up much by way of prospects. Who out there, dreading their future, wants a second chance to prove how good they are? Speak to your local F.O.T. representative and, PLEASE, only serious offers need apply.

After being in Chicago without internet the last few days I wasn't able to get any bitching out. So to catch up

-umpires need to get a pay raise so they aren't as susceptible to being on the take in the future.

-Phillie "fans" are scumbags and need to stop bitching about game 5. Nobody would want to win the series in a shortened game. Nobody.

-Longo and Los good to see you making contact again. We need you fellas.

-Longo is getting pitched extremely well. First couple games this series they were giving him heat over the outer edge early in the count. He was taking and then made an adjustment by swinging at the stuff on the outer edge except now hes only getting breaking balls off the plate.

-Can anybody drive the ball?

-Carl is swinging better.

-Aki had a baaaaaad game 4. I'm chalking that up to aligator skin not being made for the cold.

-Utley is good, but I may have had him overvalued.

-Howard should not even be able to foul off a pitch. His swing is swiss.

-Scotty when you're getting squeezed don't keep throwing to the same spots. Pat Burrell clearly spent a good 15 mins sucking some hot man chowder from the boys in blue.

-I only saw the first half of game 3 as I was exhausted, but I think we should have had Sonny go against Moyer. If Andy gets the pitches Hoss got he would have thrown a CGSO.

-There's a million other things to say, but I want to close by saying that if we can get this series back to the Berg we will not lose again this year. I wish to lap up the eye-water of a million Phillie's fans for the next few months. This is my only Christmas wish. Make it happen or you might as well call me the next Jerramy Stevens because I am going to break every law in the book this off-season.

If you thought he looked like the Kaz of old it might have had something to do with the slider he threw 35% of the time last night. Interesting questions include What the f took so long? and Does this mean his elbow is feeling better? Nice to see vintage last night and lets hope this is a sign of the times.

I was wondering what you guys make of this. I know the r^2 is really small between this and strikeouts, but pretty odd that we have the top 3 guys. Perhaps batters are more aggressive against us (not wanting to fall behind or knowing that the bendy stuff is unhittable) or whether we have been squeezed as a team. This is all season so I highly doubt the umps have colluded to squeeze 3 of our pitchers at every turn. Also, note the similarity in results between Jax and Garza. If Jackson would just manage to raise his K-rate he could be a very good pitcher.
