The 7th Floor Damn - a top 10

Where did read Miami might crack the top 10...

http://www.seventhfloorblog.com/2009/9/16/1033047/why-miami-needs-to-and-should-win

Damn, canes, damn!  How awesome is this?  #9!

While I don't believe their win was a strong against GT as it could have been, they clearly dominated.

However, credit Florida State for this jump.  FSU's manhandling of BYU enabled this.  It also helped seeing some big names like USC go down!  Yippee!

The 7th Floor Sanitizer weighs in with game grades

  GT Analysis
  Final score 33-17

Overall A- Give credit where it is due.  This team performed well - much better than most expected.  However, they let up at the end, and did not take advantage of an opportunity to put this game out of reach.  You cannot let this relax and let up…
Head Coach B Respectfully, while Shannon did not blow the game, his decision to play to NOT loose freakin' stinks.  Miami had a chance to make a statement on the score board, but did not.  Randy gets a bump for not screwing up otherwise
Offense A- - Clearly, the O shined!  But it was not perfect.  There is room for improvement.  And the D's will get better.
Coordinator A+ Whip adjusted and was notably unpredictable and creative.  He demonstrated, IMHO, that he's not a one hit wonder.  If he continues this, Miami could very well be 4-0 on October 04, 2009!
QB A Harris is demonstrating again why he led the 'west to 2 state championships!  And why he was (and still should be undefeated) as a starter - last season's loss to Cal in the bowl was his coaches' fault!
  RB A- Impressive - 160+ yards between the 2
OL A- Much improved from last game.  The OL showed a marked improvement in opening holes.  And protection was spectacular.
WR A- This group is simply frightening, and they're still so many who don't make the field.  So impressed here.  So very impressed by this group.
TE B+ Heck, if Graham scores, they deserve a bump over last week's grade.  Still, Epps and Graham played well and both scored!
Defense B+ Much better than I expected.  Not perfect, but better!
Coordinator B+ I'll give Love man some credit.  They got the job done, and they executed.  I can't stand the option, and it's so pleasing to sit here today knowing Miami stuffed it - 95 yards…  LOL
Line B This group dominated more than I expected.  Forston, however, is coming up a lame duck - needs to lose weight and get his rear in gear.  Moncur played well, and the line did what it needed to!
LB B+ I think a notable improvement over last week.  Sharpton was the MAN!
Corners B+ Passing coverage hurt, and the deep passes caused near heart failure.  But their tackling and overall run stopping execution was exceptional.  Can't give Brandon Harris enough kudos right now, but damn!
Safeties B+ Ditto!  How about 'Maque's blistering hit?
Special teams F Uggggh!  Spare me this torture this year!  Please…
  Kicker F Uggggh!  I…  Ugggh!
Everyone else C Why don't we just spot the other teamt he ball at the 40 every time…  This stinks!

Game ball Whipple Respectfully, this man deserves the game ball.  His imprint is all over this team's success
Coach Whipple What can you say?  Spectacular game calling.  I hope Miami can keep him for at least 2 full years.
Offensive player Harris I haven't seen his type of playing in a long time from a "highly touted" underclassman.  He's poised, accurate, and smart.  Unlike the bobble heads at USC, OSU, and nearly every other school who thinks they have the next great QB, this kid delivers, and is spot on with his accuracy.  He's the best QB at this school since Dorsey, and may be the best ever.  Incredible to watch!
Defensive player Harris Brandon Harros has to be the most improved player on this team.  His tackling and coverage skills are incredible right now for his stage of development.  Remember, he's just 19!  This kid may be all world next year, and brings back hope to this area of huge concern!

Miscellaneous Pinch me!  I have to be dreaming.  Is Miami relevant again?  Quite possibly, YES!
