Mile High Report Explaining What "IT" Is that Tebow Has: An Analysis of the Art of Miracles

There is no doubt that Tebow is a phenomenon who can seemingly bend the course of events to create impossible outcomes in football games on a fairly consistent basis. This post attempts to explain the forces at work which allow for this pattern of miracle finishes to take place.

Mile High Report Those Cheatin Broncos!

Very interesting read in horse tracks today about cheating to overcome the strike. This quote really struck me:

Another coach gave his players at their final meeting “very organized practice plans for workouts and passing camps that they can do in the offseason.”

So what will the Broncos do this offseason?

Mile High Report Bronco Fans hoping new FO wins title as worst ever!

We love to rip Oakland for Al Davis changing diapers coaches more often than a sex addict changes partners.

We laughed at Matt Millen drafting a WR in the 1st round more times than Micheal Jackson had nose surgery.

So why do so many Bronco fans want to see Denver become the NFL's laughing stock in the exact same ways?

What does Denver need to do for the Broncos to compete for the title of worst Front Office ever?

Mile High Report I was at the Cardinals game

Here are my perceptions of what took place from the point of view of a Broncos fan in the U. Phoenix Stadium. The biggest point I'd like to make is to correct the perception that it was the Cardinals fans that were chanting for Tebow.

Here's my stadium-eye view of what went down against the Jets, and some simple explanations of why poor offensive execution and predictable 2nd half play calling caused the Broncos to lose.

Mile High Report Is the #1 Passing Offense going to be enough?

This post looks at stats from Footballoutsiders.com to celebrate how hot the Bronco's passing has been to start the season. But even with all this good news, will such a powerful passing offense be enough to take the Bronco's to the playoffs?

Poll
Is the Bronco's spectacular passing offense going be enough to carry them to the playoffs?
Yes, the NFL is a pass first league and we're first in passing.
88 votes
No, we'll have to wait until next year as teams are going to exploit our weak running game or run defense.

Mile High Report If the Broncos are healthy, they'll win a bunch of games, if they're healthy enough to win them.

Can the Broncos the season win, or will the Football Gods say we've sinned? Are plagues of injuries in the season's plot?  Bridge the jump for queries scrying the Broncos' lot.

Mile High Report Becoming a Pass First Team

Greetings fellow MHRs.  I've been lurking on and loving this site since last season. I've enjoyed the savvy and depth on the posts so much, especially the camp reports KK, that I've decided to join the fun. Though I have to admit the harshness with which some posters judge certain players rubs me raw. I'm rooting for all of our Broncos to do well, so forgive me in advance if you find my posts looking on the bright side of life.

But I digress, I'd like to start a discussion on what I think will be the new face of the Denver Broncos offense--a pass first team.

Like most of you I'm having real questions on the team's ability to run block and to show any semblance of an effective running game. I'm guess that--though they're painting as rosy a picture as they can for the media--the coaches see the same deficiencies. I really like the direction McD is taking the team, and I believe he's a really smart fella. That said, I'm thinking he's got to be considering using the passing game as the team's primary weapon. I base this conclusion on my vague memory that when NE set the scoring record a few years back their running game complimented their passing game, and not the other way around. I'm thinking we're going to be seeing a whole lot of passes on first down. And I think that our success in the passing game will set some traditional offensive theories on their head. I suspect that we're going to see the pass used to set up the run. Rather than put 8 men in the box, teams will likely game plan to have their LBs drop back or turn to nickel or dime packages on downs they would not normally play them. This will allow the Broncos to use some cleverly placed draw plays or rip off some long runs late in games on defenses who have already been burned on several drives because of our efficient passing.

I also think that the coaches realize that our defense will not be as strong as our offense. Even with the efforts to shore up the front 3, the injuries at LB and talent levels of the remaining players are going to leave us vulnerable to the run game and underneath passes to TEs and slot receivers. So I'm guessing that McD will anticipate that unless we put up lots of points, we're going to be forced to play catch up and any chance of keeping defenses honest with occasional runs will evaporate. I think we'll adopt a "come from ahead" strategy, where the goal will be to try to take early leads and then stay 4 to 7 points ahead of opponents who can never quite catch up, if all goes according to plan.

I know it's early to make predictions on what type of offense we can expect, since only 2 preseason games have been played and half our OL and RBs are injured, but none the less, this is what I see in my crystal ball. Please tell me your take on how you think our offense will shape up and what type of offensive game plans we can look forward to.
