Springs to sign with Pats

I wasn't thrilled about the Shawn Springs prospect--too old and too injury prone--but at least is was SOMETHING.

I am glad the Eagles don't randomly sign free agents just because they are available. If we were going to sign an elder DB, we should have been aggressive about resigning Dawk. In fact, I think signing Springs would've been at least mildly insulting.

With that said and done, are we going to do ANYTHING this offseason?

Leonard Weaver?

A TE?

WR trade?

Resign Tra?

This is getting goofy, and I am spending way too much time on this site HOPING something's gonna happen.

And don't even mention T.O..

Madden Point of View

This may be the most ridiculous way to look at things, but I think that once you get past the silliness, you'll see the merit.

Many people on BGN have been talking about how the Eagles don't have a need in the receiver department, as long as we solidify some other positions (i.e. RB, OL, TE).

However, I STRONGLY disagree.

I think one of the best ways to see this is by playing Madden 09. Hear me out: When you play with the Eagles on Madden, there is just no WR weapon that defenses need to shift for, that has the size, strength, etc to open up the field in a big way. There is not a "go-to" player on 3rd and 10 for a close to guaranteed first down.

Or maybe I just suck at Madden.

Thoughts?

Hanson Signed

The fun has begun!

The Eagles have signed Joselio Hanson to a five-year deal. He was due to become an unrestricted free agent.

I really like Hanson. His upside seems very good and he is a team player. Our corners will be solid for years to come.

I think this is a very smart move and if he continues to improve, could just be a steal of a deal.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/02/20/eagles-re-sign-joselio/
