I'm all about sports, and about fishing. Those are my passions, and right up there are my opinions. I can be a real jerk when it comes to expressing them, but I mean nothing by it, other than passion.

Ok so I got a question, forgive me if it's a dumb one.
Colts are now 10-4, 2-2 in the division, 8-2 in the conference, and 0-1 against the Titans.
Titans are now 12-2, 4-1 in the division, 8-2 in the conference, and 1-0 against the Colts.
Now lets say the Colts win out, and the Titans lost out.
Colts are now 12-4, 4-2 in the division, 10-2 in the conference, and 1-1 against the Titans.
Titans are now 12-4, 4-2 in the division, 8-4 in the conference, and 1-1 against the Colts.
Now am I missing something??? Did I figure something wrong, because I'm having an idiot moment if I did make a mistake, because I can't see how they've clinched? Please help me in my moment of confusion!

I guess I just don't understand.
Maybe I'm just a homer, but I really don't understand all of the Titans side of this argument. I'll give you some credit you're 11-1, and have a very good defense. You also in my opinion have the offensive rookie of the year in Chris Johnson.
Where I get lost for 1. Is this illusion that having the best record in the regular season guarantees you anything. Because I think in past seasons, especially lately, it's shown that it doesn't. We can simply go back to last year, and see that illustration, yet for some reason so many Titan fans seem to not have been present for the N.E. Patriots not so perfect season.
2. This idea the Colts are done??? I'm pretty sure the Colts yet again are in great shape to win 12 games, for the 6th straight time. I also would like to point out that this is the first year, that our chance at a successful season has been questioned in those 6 years, it's also the first season we've faced the injuries we have this year. I'm a firm believer you can only take the past to make decisions on what you should expect from the future. In that case, I believe our resume is a lot more solid than the Titans. I mean I would think that 6 years of success means more than 2, but maybe I'm wrong. It's just that I would rather count the Colts done when they're at full strength and not producing, not when they're hurt, and still winning 12 games, I don't care who the wins came against. Especially when the people calling our schedule easy, root for a team with the same schedule except for two lousy games.
3. When did it become general knowledge that a team that has one good year is guaranteed future success. Especially when you're huge impact defensive player, only decided to be a worthwhile piece to your attack when he was up for a new contract. Seems he's out to get paid, which means no home town discount, and no desire to play to the level he is currently, once he's got his money. With that you also get into Kearse not being half the player he was, when he played for the Titans before. Bulluck your leading tackler is only a year younger than Manning, so if you want to say Manning is over the hill, why don't you look at the fact that Bulluck is showing signs of aging in his stats, far greater than Manning. Just last year he posted his worse year since 2001, his tackle numbers dropped like 50 tackles. He's only on pace to make like 20 more this year than last, still way off pace of his prime days. Vanden Bosch is showing signs of being injury prone in only his 8th NFL season. As well you have to seriously doubt his effectiveness in the event you lose Haynesworth. You take this D-line away from this team, and you have a dramatically different defense. One that doesn't control the line a scrimmage, and doesn't hold teams to 92 yards of rushing a game. A defense that no longer can pressure the QB, allowing you're corners to be as dominate as they are. Just like the Chargers who thought they had things guaranteed, and then their pass rush fell apart, suddenly they're corners that were rated so high, just like yours were exposed. Amazing how important basically one guy is to your team. Also interesting how, even if you bring him back you're not guaranteed the same success, because he's a worthless human being.
As far as you're offense goes the only thing I can point out is you have one thing to be excited about and that's Chris Johnson. At the same point it would be a fear of mine as well, since he's not a QB, I don't believe it's good to have 1 player account for 31.5% of your total offensive production. What if this is just a fluke season, like so many in the past have had, or what happens if you lose him to injury. What happens is your future is instantly turned upside down because of one player. And due to your success, your chances of building pieces around him are lowered, and due to you paying people outrageous sums of money to sit on the bench, it hampers your ability to build through free agency.
Seriously though keep blindly over exaggerating your teams current accomplishments, and chances at future ones, just do us a favor and have some of these thoughts in mind.

Something to be happy about!
These are the 5 hottest teams in football the past 5 games. Excluding teams that lost there most recent game. Ranked 1-5.
1. Giants, 5-0
2. Jets, 5-0
3. Bucs, 4-1
4. Colts, 4-1
5. Ravens,4-1
Do we have a shot I'd say hell yes we do, plenty of time to get Bobby healthy, hopefully, as well as Saturday, and then a shot to make some noise in the playoffs.
Is interesting though this week with the Titans loss. If they don't take these next three weeks seriously, against less than stellar competition.( Detroit, Cleveland, and Houston) If they lose one, they would then be forced to play there starters, and win either the Pittsburg game, first and be done with it, or if they also lost the Pittsburg game, they would have to come play us in Indy. To keep there homefield, they basically can't lose 2 games. Meaning every week is important, even the easy ones, because the schedule will be so much harder at the end of the season. Just thought it was interesting how quickly things could change from what they had been. I didn't figure on Tennessee having to play either of the last two games, now they have to play Pitt, and maybe Indy too!
Question tho, if Tennessee finishes 12-4, and so do we, who wins the division, because if that were to happen, it would mean we split the games. GO COLTS!

Interesting
Obviously we don't think anything about the refs till it seems like they're screwing the game for us. And I am to agree that most of the time the refs calls don't sway a game one way or the other, but the reason I strive for better officiating is just because it should be better.
I've said it before, I think the challenges are so damn confusing, I mean rules on what you can and can't challenge, you have to choose wisely when or when not to use a challenge. The officials upstairs only work, in the last two minutes of halves.
For one I believe that anything that could possibly be challenged should be challengeable, although I understand somethings can't be challenged. For two to think that some days refs aren't just gonna have bad days, and miss things, is crazy, is 2 challenges enough, as often as the mistakes have been coming lately. And lastely the refs upstairs need to be working they're ass off. When a play on the field happens and the whistle is blown too early, like the fumble incident on Monday night, gotta have some kind of way of getting the call right. Specially in that situation, where even though the whistle was blown, the play continued after the ball came out, and a recovery was made. Simply go back and see if he was down, if not get the call right. This idea that the whistle blowing would of somehow impacted the players pursuit of the ball or anything really, is grossly exaggerated.
By the way, get rid of the tuck rule, it's just stupid!

Curious
Now I know this has nothing to do with this week, since the whole team played bad, but I am curious though, how much money we pay our offense vs. what we pay our defense. I know Peyton, Marvin, and Reggie probably get hefty sums, but we're not including other playmakers like Dallas, Joseph, or even Gonzalez. Where is on D that I know of only Freeney and Sanders has big money numbers. Kinda weird how we expect the best quality of both, but are not paying for it. I don't know, might be wrong, but was curious, if anyone knows the details please comment.

Wow what a ridiculous issue
Well this is a big issue, I guess I'll throw my opinion in. My only points are, is if his knee was still badly hurt and causing him to be lacking mobility, then why would they have risked it? Risk him getting hurt, because he can't even get out of harms way. Especially with injured linemen, we're gonna put our franchise on the line, for one game against the Bears. Do you guys have no faith in the competency of an organization that has gone 5 straight years with 12 wins or more, and a super bowl win as well during that span? We didn't just accomplish everything we have with talent, it's been alot of brains as well. Maybe just maybe the knee was affecting his throwing, but if that was the case would we really want Sorgi in instead? Idk if the knee was bothering him in anyway, but lets say it was, we're talking about the fact we were still rated 7th in passing prior to the Ravens game. I think no his knee wasn't affecting his mobility, bc you'd be an idiot to have him in there if it was, and if it was affecting his passing he was still having more success than 25 other teams in the league.
Manning and everyone involved made the decision to have surgery after minicamp, bc they apparently felt it was more important. Now of course maybe if they knew they were gonna lose OL, they'd go a different route, but they didn't, and maybe they would have done the same, who knows get over it. Decisions are made and you deal with the consequences no matter how bad or how good, you learn from them either way, and move on. The Colts have, and we should!
Lombardi, was right about the second surgery, and wrong about everything else. His report included alot of other stuff besides the second surgery, and when a bunch of your stuff is wrong, and you got a few right things, you've failed, the whole thing is a wash. That's how things are graded in real life. I believe all anyone was saying that objected to his report initially was, hold on the season aint here you can't predict the future. We wanted to see it before we made our conclusion. Conclusion now being Manning is Manning, and he just kicked the Raven's butts again.
The Colts should never have to do anything that is not a rule they have to follow. There is alot of grey area with injury reports, that teams in all sports use to there advantage. If somethings there and you can use it to make your team better then use it. This crap about lying, is taking it all too serious. It's not like the Colts are sitting there saying we're not telling you what's going on because the fans don't deserve to know. They are saying we expect Manning to do this and to do this. So that the Bears forever prepare for Manning. Maybe what would of been good strategy is to say we don't expect him to play then suddenly have him start? Idk? I'm not a coach, Idk how far they go into that sort of thing. I do know that the people making these decisions are a much more qualified than any of us. Since they get paid to make them that is, and we're just a bunch of punks that come off as whiny brats, when our team makes a decision that may have worked out better another way.
It's just like a couple of weeks ago when everyone was screaming run the ball, and burn clock. Everyone thinks that when a decision was made and it may of cost us something that it should of automatically been done a different way to guarantee success. Like run and maybe not score at all, but atleast you took time of the clock, or work on Peytons knee whenever, and don't allow him to get the preperation he feels is most important, or even worse, throw Sorgi in and lose all 4 opening games.

Proof we're ok for the moment!
We have what is said to be a tough 3 weeks ahead of us, if we continue putting the numbers up currently we will be far better than any of the teams that our competition has faced so far. And to think we're supposed to be even better, we're supposed to be worlds better, and these so called dominate defenses have only proven themselves against below average teams. Out of the teams our upcoming competition have played only 3/12 teams averaged more than 200 yards a game only 3/12 teams have a completion percentage above 60%, only 2/12 have a QB rating above 80. Only 1 team had all three categories, we're off by just 1 point in QB rate. .8 to be exact.
Ravens= Week 1 Bengals 161.2 yards a game 27th, 58.5% comp, and 63.7 QB rate
Week 2 Browns 123.8 yards a game 32nd , 49.6% comp, and 49.9 QB rate
Week 3 Steelers 177.4 yards a game 22nd , 61.5% comp, and 92.4 QB rate
Week 4 Titans 167.4 yards a game 24th, 55.5% comp, and 68.7 QB rate
Packers= Week 1 Vikings 190.6 yards a game 20th, 54.8% comp, and 73.3 QB rate
Week 2 Lions 190.8 yards a game 19th, 56.1% comp, and 64.6 QB rate
*Week 3 Cowboys 268.6 yards a game 4th, 63.8% comp, and 99.9 QB rate*
Week 4 Bucs 215.4 yards a game 12th, 59% comp, and 67.5 QB rate
Week 5 Falcons 164.2 yards a game 25th, 54.2% comp, and 75.3 QB rate
Titans= Week 1 Jaguars 175.8 yards a game 23rd, 65.1% comp, and 79.3 QB rate
Week 2 Bengals 161.2 yards a game 27th, 58.5% comp, and 63.7QB rate
Week 3 Texans 218 yards a game 11th, 64.3% comp, and 77.3 QB rate
Week 4 Vikings 190.6 yards a game 20th, 54.8% comp, and 73.3 QB rate
Week 5 Ravens 136 yards a game 31st, 58.5% comp, and 61.9 QB rate
Colts meanwhile are averaging 245.5 yards a game 7th, 62.3% comp, and 79.2 QB rate. Some may say we did this against less talented D's, but this is Peyton Manning we're talking about, who has been proven to be far better than these other QB's. The only two with names to be talked about on the pro level based on they're play as a pro so far is Romo who has had 8 straight games with at least one interception thrown, and Big Ben has been sacked 19 times this season 2nd most.
The Cowboys aside not a single team is even close to having the pass attack we are currently having with the Colts. Not to mention we're not playing well, we're said to be not in sync and are supposed to get better. Yes these teams have played well so far, but the Packers are the only ones that have played a real pass attack, and they're ranked 13th overall against the pass. Based on all this you can't help, but say these teams haven't done anything against true competition yet.

Thankful
I was on NFL.com today and found something interesting, apparently Plaxico Burress has no regrets about skiping work two Mondays ago. Now he has repeatedly said it was a family emergency/issue. A little aggravated to say the least I mean if I no call no show I have no job tommorrow. Now if he had a reason not to be at work, why not make a call, if it's a valid reason he would be excused. But Burress has this attitude that to call would mean he's asking for permission, and he's upset at the idea of asking permission. Which is not the situation at all, by calling he'd be simply fulfilling a responsibility to his place of employment. Which is required by any other person carrying a job, but I guess because you catch a touchdown in the Superbowl, it means your invincible. When in the wide view of the situation when it comes to the history of wide recievers, who is Plaxico Burress, just another punk player that's been disciplined more than 40 times since he arrived in New York. Sad because he's trully a great talent, but what a joke of an attitude. But hey I'm just jealous right, because I can't run around acting like a fool, and make millions. No way I could be perfectly sincere, and mean everything I say, when I say players like this give all other professional athletes a bad name. Makes me so glad again we have the characters we do in Indy. Link below for the interview I found.

Amazing
Funny how again we take the lead leaving time on the clock. Yet this time we make a play on D and stop the opposing offense, and there is no talk about how Dungy should have called a run play to take time of the clock. Ok so maybe some of the idiots got the idea and realized Manning makes the offensive play calls. But where is the critizism? We scored and took the lead with alot of time left. Oh yea I'm forgetting what I said above the D made a play, which is exactly what's supposed to happen, and look we won bc of it. Fact is the Texans choked, in particular Rosenfels. We were able to capatalize, on these mistakes. Shows that you can't give us chances, we may be not clicking on all cylinders, but we're still close when you give us opprotunities. In these close games your gonna lose some and gonna win some. Jacksonville was able to get us, Houston wasn't able to. We have a tough schedule coming up, we need to sure up the line probs, and get healthy. Go Colts!

Dungy does not make the O calls
For the past week I've read time after time about how the bad play calls that were made. Constantly it's being blamed on Dungy....wake up people, how many times have we been told that Peyton makes the calls. He doesn't just audible stuff at the line, he is given three plays from Tom Moore our OC, and he makes the best decision.
So plz shut up about Dungy being at fault for the play call. As well as shut up that it was bad play calling period, sometimes mistakes are made, and whenever something doesn't work out, there is always the abilitly to look back and say hey we should of done something different. But I don't believe you can blame the loss on one drive, or 2 bad play calls, it's the whole body of work, and the worst part of the entire game was the D. Nothing else, no matter what excuse they couldn't stop anybody so we lost.
