Hitting the Links: Knucklepucks and Knuckleheads Weekend Edition

Well they didn't hit the six goal quota, but there's really not much else to complain about right now with the Bruins. The 4-1 win over Toronto, their fourth over the Leafs this season already,...

Bruins In Toronto With Division Lead On The Line

The Bruins travel to Toronto tonight for a big divisional game with the Leafs. Toronto has won three straight, while the Bs carry a 12-game regulation unbeaten streak into tonight's game, having...

Hitting the Links: New Streak/Weekend Edition

The Bruins have developed a great habit of scoring goals in quick bunches, but last night gave up 2 goals in 39 seconds in the first period to fall behind the Winnipeg Jets 2-0. But they fought...

Hitting the Links: The Ocho/Weekend Edition

The Bruins won their eighth straight game last night, winning 6-0 over the New York Islanders in the crypt known as the Nassau Coliseum. Chris Kelly potted two goals and Zdeno Chara had a nice...

Bruins Go For Lucky Seven Against Blue Jackets

With a win at the Garden tonight against the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets, and losses by Ottawa and Montreal, the Boston Bruins can get into the top 8 in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins have...

Hitting the Links: Gutless/Weekend Edition

The Bruins made it five in a row last night with a dominant 6-2 win over Northeast rival Buffalo. The Sabres did some flashy free-agent spending this summer making Pegulaville all nice and shiny,...

Bruins Going For Three In a Row Against Islanders

After convincing wins at home against Ottawa and in Toronto, the Bruins return home tonight to face the New York Islanders, their roommates in the Eastern Conference cellar. With a win tonight,...

Hitting the Links: Chicken Little/Weekend Edition

I'm not normally one to say the sky is falling, but with every loss the Bruins fall further into a hole that they'll have to make up if they want the chance to defend the Cup come April. Right...

Zdeno Chara the Bunny Rabbit

So much weirdness in one photo. Is Caron dressing up as a crayon a joke on his name? Why is McQuaid not Darth Vader? Does Marchand have an obsession with Spanish royalty? And Z just really sends it over the top. Well done guys well done, giving back to the community while having some fun doing it.

Jordan Caron Headed Down I-95

Bruins forward Jordan Caron has been sent down to Providence. Caron wasn't doing much, playing only four games and failing to get any points. As James Murphy notes, the Bruins only have 12 forwards going into Thursday's game now, so maybe a different P-Bruin will be called up. Should be interesting to see who gets the call.

Hitting the Links: Fail/Weekend Edition

So after a ridiculously terrible loss in a huge game against USC in the first night game at Notre Dame Stadium in 20 years, I turned to the Bruins for some relief. No luck, a 4-2 loss against the S...

Seguin, Horton come up big as Bruins upend Blackhawks in Battle of Stanley Cup Champions

Tyler Seguin has been the focus of much attention lately as he took the spot of an injured David Krejci centering the Boston Bruins' top line.  Saturday night, he was the center of attention for...

Hitting the Links: Weekend/Emergency Recap/ SEGA Edition

Sorry for the epic lateness of the weekend links, my school's IT department decided to go ahead and screw with the network this morning and mess everything up. I'll keep this short: Tyler Seguin is...

Bruins Face Tough Test In Chicago, Look to Break Slump

The Bruins will play the Chicago Blackhawks tonight on the road at 8:30 EST. Hopefully, the Original Six matchup will shake the Bruins out of the rut they’ve been in to start the season. They...

Krejci Leaves Practice With Undisclosed Injury, Will Miss Carolina Game

According to multiple sources, including NESN and ESPN, Bruins center David Krejci left practice early this morning with an undisclosed injury. He did not travel with the team to Raleigh today and will not play against the Hurricanes tomorrow night. He will be continue to be evaluated by team doctors to determine the extent of the injury and whether he could join the team in Chicago for Saturday night's game against the Blackhawks. Hopefully it's nothing serious and Krejci will be back Saturday. Fingers crossed, everyone.

Recap: Bruins Drop to 1-2 After Disappointing Loss to Avs

The Bruins fell to 1-2 on the season today as they were stifled by the Colorado Avalanche and Semyon Varlamov 1-0. The B’s seemed to lack energy in the matinee game, but the Avs didn’t appear to...

Hitting The Links: First Win/First Weekend Edition

The Bruins picked up their first win of the 2011-2012 season last night with a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at TD Garden. Rich Peverley scored twice while Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin...

Versus Is Now the NBC Sports Network

Versus is being changed to the "NBC Sports Network" now that NBC owns it. Hopefully, this will mean more games on national TV and more exposure for the league.

Bruins Player Report Cards 2010-2011: Michael Ryder

Grade: A- Michael Ryder posted 18 goals and 23 assists in the regular season, which isn't really too awful. But he did that with maddening inconsistency. For example, no goals for Ryder in March....

Bruins Player Report Cards 2010-2011: Andrew Ference

Grade: A- I've had a theory on Andrew Ference the past few years: the Bruins are a much better team with him in the lineup. Doing a little calculation, I found that they were 11-14-6 without him...

Happy Birthday Bergy!

Kind of weird to think he's only 26 considering how long he's been here.

Bruins Player Report Cards 2010-2011: Daniel Paille

Grade: B- Daniel Paille is hard to grade. He was taken 20th overall by the Sabres in the 2002 Draft, and based on that his six goals and seven assists in 43 regular-season games look a little...

Top Ten Tim Thomas Saves of the 2010-2011 Season

Tim Thomas made 2,497 saves in the 2010-2011 season, including playoffs. He posted a record .938 save percentage in the regular season and an even better .940 mark on his way to the Conn Smythe....

Arenacale linked to this story in a FanPost already talking about KTapp's departure, but I wanted to see what everyone thought about the CSNNE/NESN debate. I found myself watching Felger postgame during the playoffs, even though I think NESN does a good job too. Felger just really attracts viewers I think, plus he's pretty funny when he gets riled up and knows his stuff. Where did everyone else go for postgame coverage if you even watched any?

Darth Quaider and the Princess

Adam McQuaid took part in something called a "dragon boat" race yesterday on PEI. Also there were Kate Middleton and Prince William. McQuaid ended up racing in Kate's boat. I'm not a big royalty fan but this is pretty cool I think.

Bruins Shouldn't Notice Too Many Changes From Realignment, Right?

With the Winnipeg Jets officially in the NHL and the Draft concluded, focus has shifted towards realigning the NHL's divisions for the 2011-2012 season. Winnipeg will stay in the Southeast for the...

If Thornton Plays, Who Sits?

From what I've heard, it seems like Shawn Thornton is going to be in the lineup tonight. But who sits? I don't think Paille or Campbell is going to sit, because they're just too valuable on the PK....

Tampa Preview

Hi SCOC folks, Been reading for a while, finally decided to start commenting. Kinda sad it took this kind of run for me to start, but it's as good a time as ever. I was looking around for previews and this one was pretty good. I was thinking Bruins in 5 but depending on when exactly Bergy returns I'll take a six game win.
