New jersey that just came in!!! 2 weeks/ 2 1/2 weeks, all sewn patches and lettering. Don't ask the price, y'all might start crying...lol.
Heard an interesting tidbit yesterday
I'm actually sure some of y'all that follow free agency and stuff already know this, but I thought it was fodder for a "what if" talk. Seems Jarvis Green, former LSU player and kinda current New England DE, is a free agent! I did some work at his mom and dads house yesterday, and his dad told me he is a free agent. Wonder what the chances are of getting him here?? A local boy, with local ties....he has the experience to seriously help us (IMO). What do y'all think? I'm not necessarily talking whether we can afford him or not, but him as a player for the Saints...good fit or bad?
GREETINGS CUB FANS!!!!!
from the home of the NFL WORLD CHAMP NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!!!! (I'm still soaring over here, forgive me).
I have been a CUBS fan for as long as I can remember. My favorite player of all time was Ryan Sandburg. He was a good player, good guy and a class act. I'm not going to pretend that I have every stat or game result committed to memory...I just know I love me some CUBS and follow them as much as possible.
A lil about me....I'm male (duh! Scott2417 should have been a dead give away), 45 yrs; old and have a live in gf who isn't into baseball at all. Was actually born in Chicago, but only lived there about 3 yrs. Mom couldn't take the cold (being from the deeeep south, who can?!?!), so we left and came back to N.O. after a brief stop in Fla.
I look forward to some entertaining conversation and a wonderful CUBS year!!!!
GEAUX CUBS!!!!!
We're closer than ever to watching history in the making
and I am surprisingly very calm. Since we trounced Minnesota, I've been on pins and needles. Anxious and excited, nervous and on edge....feeling as if the last 2 weeks have been 2 months! When I went to bed last night, I asked the gf if I could take 2 of her Ambien and sleep til about 2 this afternoon....she said no. So, we went to bed, I woke up around 6:45, and here it is 1:35, and I'm calm, at ease and relaxed. I am beginning to feel little spurts of anxiousness peeking through the calmness. We made dirt cake for the party, and have to stop and get some beer, then off to Brandy's aunt's house. I'll be busy installing a surround sound system before the game, which I know by which time I will be chomping at the bit.
Here's to hoping that everyone has a wonderful, fun, exciting, happy, joyful, tearful, thrilling, jubilant day. Win or lose, NO ONE can take anything away from the team and the WHO Dat Nation after today! Being a black and gold diehard for 40 yrs., I can confidently say that this is the greatest feeling I have ever had involving the Saints.
Need help finding a song
On Saturday mornings, down here in bayou country (Thibodaux area), on 107.5, they play swamp pop/cajun/zydeco music. It's usually a country channel, but they stop slumming and play better music on Saturday mornings. Lately, I've heard a song that I wanna find. It's a cajun version of Who Dat Say They Gonna Beat Them Saints. I wanted to call this morning, but got home from work just as the show ended (it runs from 8 - 12). If the NAME and/or ARTIST could be found, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there are some CSC members from this area that possibly live in the area, and have heard this song...especially if they listen to the channel on Saturday mornings.
Got a question for everyone
just cause I'm getting tired of reading about the Saints and Colts and who's gonna do what to whom. It's basically the same stuff hashed and rehashed. So...
we know Drew and his wife live in N.O., we know Coach P lives on the north shore, we know Reggie bought a million dollar condo in the warehouse district...anyone know of any other Saints, players or coaches, that call N.O. home in the off season? Or at least have a home here? I'm pretty sure Reggie's home here isn't a full-time home, but one for during the season, but I could be wrong. I also know Coach P and a couple of the other coaches get a girl from Shriever or Shreiver, (which every one it is) to go to Saints Drive and cut their hair (he likes a "cajun" 1 1/2 blade) . Shreiver/Shriever is about 15 mins from me.
Is it Sunday, 5 p.m. yet?????
Heard three interesting things on the radio today
but because I am physically and mentally exhausted right now (LOOOOONG day at work), if these 3 things were covered/discussed...I'm sorry. I'm too tired to read...posting this and going to bed. Anywho...the 3 things:
1) WWL radio reported late this afternoon that Reggie Wayne left practice 20 mins early due to re-aggravating an old knee injury!! He is now listed as probable for Sunday's game.
2) Dwight Freeney was due to practice today, and if his ankle did ok, he was gonna try and practice again tomorrow. Hoping he isn't cripple, I hope practice SUCKED, and he can't/doesn't wanna risk, practicing tomorrow.
3) Who dat say they gonna beat them Saints, Who Dat, Who Dat 44 characters......Super Bowl 44 hmmmmm.
Guess what other "PRO" team I'll be following besides the Saints??
Greg Williams' comment on a radio station in Nashville...
...seems to have struck a nerve with fans and the NFL (No Fun League). Seems GW passed a comment concerning the defense hitting the qb (Manning) and if he didn't get up, or couldn't finish the game, ce la vie (paraphrasing a lil here). Now, fans and the NFL are questioning whether the Saints are head hunters and intentionally attempting to hurt opposing qb's. I don't have the time right now to find the interview, but on WWLRadio this morning, it was reported to have been during an interview with a radio station in Nashville. If someone could find the interview, either a transcript or the actual interview, I think it would make for good discussion.
I personally believe you go after the qb like you do anyone with the ball. I KNOW the Saints aren't going after anyone with the ball with the express intent of causing injury. I think GW was stating the obvious, and what everyone thinks but doesn't say....we're going after the qb (or anyone with the ball for that matter), if we tackle them and they get injured, so be it...it isn't the intent to hurt someone, but if it happens, it happens. That's the chance you take and the price you pay for playing a violent sport.
HOPEFULLY, this doesn't turn into a massive issue. i.e. Peyton thinks/feels he has a good chance to beat the Saints....NOW, after this interview, and all the hoopla, he might have the mentality of "Oh no they didn't! They wanna try and hurt me and put ME out of the game? I think not. NOW I'm gonna go and my it my mission in life to destroy the Saints with my arm."
A Poem
We remember Betsy,we remember Camille, we remember when the Saints were not a big deal.
We remember Katrina, we remember the Dome, we remember the night, the Saints came marching home.
We remember the bags, we remember the Aints, we remember those no longer with us, who simply loved the Saints.
We cry, because we remember, no matter the score, the Saints time is now, at Superbowl 44!!! WHO DAT!!
To much for a tat I think.

Indiana needs our help!!!!
Greeting NFC Champion & Super Bowl bound New Orleans Saints fans!!! WOW..is that the greatest thing we have ever said, or what!??! I just visited the Colts fan page, Stampede Blue, and they need our help, DESPERATELY! Not with football, but with FOOD. OMG..those poor souls! Their idea of a game day meal, is basically pork tenderloin, deep fried, with corn. That's it! GRIME, from the Vikings page, came and asked for our input on game day meals...I think we need to continue this new tradition. Everyone knows, NO ONE eats and parties like a Louisianian or New Orleanian. As true southern gentleman and ladies, we OWE it to the rest of the nation, one team fan base at a time, to educate them on southern food. We are known for our food and hospitality...what better way to express both than by offering great recipes? I started them off with jambalaya and bread pudding...also gave them a site to a tarte a la bouille (the gf's) recipe. Let's show how great we are as southerners, Louisianians, New Orleanians...whether born and raised or by proxy, and help these poor skinny souls out...LOL.
WHO DAT GOIN TO THE SUPER BOWL??
WE DAT GOIN TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!
GREETINGS FROM LOUISIANA!!!!
Home of the NFC Champion New Orleans Saints! (never got to say that before..lol). Well, it's in da books...Saints v Colts for Super Bowl 44. As a lifelong Saints fan, I'm kinda torn on this game. Don't take that as me saying I in NO way am pulling for the Colts...lol. What I'm saying is I followed Archie when he was our qb. I grew up less than a mile from him. I know him and Olivia and all 3 boys. I can remember being 10ish, playing ball at a local park with Archie and the boys. Peyton is a great qb. Archie is a great man. It's going to be a shame beating y'all, but hey....it's our time and we have fought so hard and long for this opportunity. I just wanted to stop by and say HI! I know alot of fans from our page, Canal Street Chronicles, will be stopping by for friendly banter and such. I look forward to visiting for the next 12 days. Y'all come by our "house", have a cup of coffee and some fun. Good luck on what I'm sure will be a fun, exciting, hard fought game..and of COURSE our first Super Bowl win!!!!
WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!
Hehehehehehe
Favre can go play in Drew's place...since Drew will be playing in the Super Bowl!!!!
Ok...tryin this, and if it doesn't work, someone is going to cry!
From a friend
HAD to share.....
Dear God, Last year you took away my favorite dancer, Michael Jackson... favorite actor, Patrick Swayze... favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett... favorite comedian, Dom DeLuise... favorite pitchman, Billy Mays... and favorite sidekick, Ed McMahon... Just so you know, my favorite NFL team is the Vikings. Thank you and ... Geaux Saints!!! Who Dat....
Ok....now to fill up space with 26 words. So...how is everyone?? Y'all ready for some football??!!! Ok, going to see if that's 75 words.
Harvin missed practice Wednesday dealing with migraine headaches, a medical issue that has dogged him during his rookie season.
Now doesn't THAT through a monkey wrench into the gumbo pot?! If Harvin can't play (if he can't, I hope he's ok and it's nothing super serious) that takes away a big element of their special teams and a seldom used threat on offense. Kinda changes the complexity of the game...one less person to worry about. Now, if we can get the offensive lineman that are ailing and the defensive lineman that are also ailing, out.....it'll be a lil easier walk.
I wonder if....
because we're in N.O., or La., or just Saints fans in general, if Buddy D., Jim Finks, Sam Mills...and all the other great Saints players/personal/personalities that have left us over the years, are second lining in their graves? (You Do realize we don't just "roll over" in our graves down here, that's SO normal.
I'm SURE Heaven is currently being decorated in Black and Gold, with clouds being reshaped into fleur de lis', and some good "When the Saints Go Marching In' music, maybe performed by Satchmo, blaring...poor Saint Peter...I'm sure he hasn't seen ANYTHING like a fired up Saints fan!!

New/old Saints helemt
Greetings!! This is my first post/blog thing, so please bare with me if I do something wrong.
I saw this picture on FB, a Saints fan page, and got to wondering about it. HOPEFULLY, the picture is visible to everyone.
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#/photo.php?pid=30267940&op=1&o=global&view=global&subj=183726611327&id=1467811546
Anyway....does anyone remember this helmet? In case you CAN'T see it... it's black, with what looks to be a gray face guard, gold fleur de lis, and a gold and white stripe down the middle. Supposedly, the Saints used this helmet only for the 1969 Pre Season.
If the pic isn't visible, if someone would explain to me ho to PUT a picture in a post, I'd like to have everyone see the helmet. It's kinda old-school unique.
What's the deal with the DB's???
Is it just me, or do the Saints defensive backs look afraid or unsure as to how to TACKLE someone?? On at least 4 seperate occasions, the db's have tried to knock someone down, instead of grabbing them and tackling them. This IS tackle football, not "knock the guy with the ball down" football.
Good game by Reggie. Ran with authority and didn't try to juke and jive so much. I was WAYYYY off on my prediction, but I'd rather the win by the Saints.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE BABYY!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!
