Zabransky starting at QB in the CFL
Hi fellow Broncos fans. Just thought I send you a little news from north of the border as I didn't notice anyone else posting it here...
Jared Zabransky is now the starting quarterback for the Canadian Football League's Edmonton Eskimos. He had been the back-up to starter Ricky Ray but Ray went down with a serious injury and Jared led them to a win last Saturday. It looks like JZ will be the starter for the rest of the season. The Eskimos are battling for playoff spot with only two weeks to go.

"Bills Future QB" Day: Mallett/Luck... Moore?
I watched Mallett today and tried to keep an eye on the Stanford game as well. I was impressed by Mallett for most of the day even though he still makes lots of mistakes. His accuracy seemed an ongoing problem. And then things ended terribly for him with those awful interceptions. I still think he is an interesting prospect but I'm not enthusiastic right now.
I didn't get to see much of Luck but he didn't seem to do anything extraordinary against a very mediocre ND defense.
Now, I will admit that I am a biased Boise State fan, but I am watching the game right now and yet again Kellen Moore just really stands out for me. I've watched him a lot this year and last and he just never makes the kind of mistakes I saw Mallett make today. He rarely throws an interception. He continually eludes pressure and calmly makes a play. He throws short passes with a perfect touch, hits timing patterns over the middle, connects down the sidelines with the long pass... He is in complete control of the game when he is out there. He lead BS to an amazing comeback win against VT in Week One. He led them to an upset of TCU in the Fiesta Bowl. Tonight, I just watched him execute an amazing 3 play 80 yard td drive that included three fantastic, basically perfect passes. On the first he somehow sidestepped a rusher who he didn't even see until the very last second. Then he laid a perfect pass down the side where only his guy could catch it. And then he made then 3rd play look easy. The announcers on ABC are dissecting play after play and showing how smart, accurate and poised he is.
And so... when are we going to start considering him in these conversations? What more does he have to do? The guy is for real, he really is. He doesn't play in one of those shotgun spread offenses either. He is taking snaps from under center. And I know BS has a rep for being a gimmicky offense but anybody who watches them consistently knows that this is way overstated. Hopefully people who don't see them much are getting to watch him tonight and see what he is about. Anyone...?
Colt McCoy thoughts?
Anybody watching the Texas/Texas A&M game? Any thoughts on Colt McCoy? He hasn't come up a lot in our Bills QB of the Future discussions but I've always been impressed with him. Most mock drafts have him slipping past the first round. Would you be in favour of the Bills taking him in Rd 2? Also, Shipley looks fantastic. He never seems to show up in anyone's mock drafts in the Top 3 rds. What a steal he would be in the 4th round. He might be the next Wes Welker. Even better, someone should draft them as a pair.
Vick to the Bills in 2010 "a good fit": Tony Dungy on NBC
Looked and I don't think that anyone else has posted about this yet. Did anybody else just see Tony Dungy (Michael Vick's "reintegration into society" mentor) suggest that Vick could seriously end up in Buffalo next year? When pressed further, he confirmed that there were talks this past offseason and that Buffalo would be a good fit for 2010. Tell me that was just a bad dream... It makes me sick just thinking about it.
