Bucs DE DaQuan Bowers suffered a torn Achilles.
"WR #Jacoby Jones, waived by the #Texans on Monday, is visiting the #Panthers today. He caught 31 passes and averaged 16.5 yards last season."

Last week, after the Panthers lost at home to Atlanta, longtime season-ticket holder R. Bruce Rognon, 71, of Pinehurst, N.C., was walking from the stadium to his car. Rognon collapsed. He died of a heart attack. His memorial service was Saturday in Pinehurst, and Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who did not know Rognon, got in his car and drove the 80 miles to the service. "He [Rognon] never missed a game,'' said Richardson. "The least I could do was go to the service and pay my respects. These fans are amazing. They do more than invest their money. They invest their time and emotion, and they buy into your team. It is such a sad thing for the family.''
I love that he got it in his car and drove to the funeral of a man he didn't know.

"According to contract numbers obtained by ESPN.com, the Panthers restructured the contract of veteran offensive tackle Jordan Gross. They took his salary-cap figure for this season from $10 million down to $9 million for the 2011 season. "

Panthers Camp on Sirius NFL
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Sirius NFL will be at the Panthers camp today (Aug. 9) from 3 PM to 7 PM (EST).
From the good news department
Thomas Davis has shown up to mini-camp and participated fully in practice.
Editor's note: The good news doesn't stop with Davis. Chandler also describes Clausen as "look(ing) sharp and accurate with his throws" and Armanti Edwards as "show(ing) very good, soft hands, catching most everything thrown to him.". On the downside LaFell dropped some passes and Richard Marshall was a no show - JtA
Bernadeau may have earned himself a starting spot

Bernadeau started seven games at left guard after Jordan Gross was placed on injured reserve, which forced Travelle Wharton to move from left guard to fill the void left by Gross at left tackle. The Panthers' starting right guard, Keydrick Vincent, will be an unrestricted free agent in March, and Carolina isn't expected to re-sign him, opening up a potential spot for Bernadeau."
