I'm a born and raised Yinzer that relocated to the west coast about 4 years ago. Currently, I reside in Phoenix, AZ but I cannot wait to someday move back to the East coast circumstances permitting. I remember back when I was young and the Pens won back to back in the early 90's. I was at the ceremony as a child at Three Rivers Stadium on that rainy day to celebrate the 2nd consecutive Stanley Cup Championship won by the Pens. Being as it was raining there was a tarp across the field. That did not stop Bryan Trottier from grabbing the cup, and baseball sliding across that tarp in celebration. That was the day I knew I would be a Pens fan for the rest of my life ( I also had a Paul Coffey jersey at the time).

When the Pens won the Cup in 2009, I was by myself in my apartment overjoyed at the fact that I've seen another Cup won in my life. The chants of "Let's Go Pens" in "Hockeytown" Detroit sent chills down my spine during throughout the entire game. My only regret was that I had no one to share that experience with because of where I was at the time.

I'm hoping this is somewhere that I can express the fan that I am, and share my experiences with others that know what I do. That is that we have the 2nd coming of our Penguins dynasty. We have many more cups to come in the upcoming years, and I wouldn't be surprised if we caught up to the Steelers in the next decade (and we will do it in fewer decades than it took them to do it).

Cheers to anyone out there that loves the Pens…and scratch my back with a F’n hacksaw Elvis has left the building.

PensBurgh Penguins Team Name Inspired by The Igloo

As I usually do on Monday's at work I was busy reading hockey articles online to pass the time until I was able to go home. I came across this interesting article I wanted to share about how all of the NHL franchises were named.

PensBurgh Is Anyone Else Worried About Staal's recovery?

What's everyone's thoughts on what Staal will do this year?

Do you think it will change the breakout season he had last year?

Personally, I think he's only going to only get better and surpass Eric as the dominant Staal force to be reckoned with in the NHL.

PensBurgh Make or break year for Fleury?

So I read a couple articles on Fleury because I was bored at work. The first article discusses whether Marc-Andre should be considered in regard to the elite of goalies in the league based on his play, and the second discusses if his contract of 7 years $35mil was a mistake (the writer says no).

PensBurgh Why not Maxim Afinogenov?

So if the Pens were to get a winger in free agency I don't see why it wouldn't be Maxim Afinogenov. I'm a fan of the fact that he's a little wreckless and dangerous with his play. He can be inconsistant, but I think the spark he could bring to our agressive style would be a plus by far...that is if he doesn't go to the KHL first.

Him and Geno could get on a common ground. Plus, I think that Stalkin, and Maxim would be a pretty good line 2(that's if we didn't want to put him on Sid's line).

Thoughts?
