So this is the Mariners line up today. So more Olivo and Figgins is in center. It's not like Saunders and Jaso were any good anyway.

I thought this was an interesting article by Ken Davidoff on Brian Cashman and Seattle. I'm sure though that many GM's (or even people that aren't GM's!) like the idea of being a general manager in Seattle, but it was just interesting to hear it reported, and about Brian Cashman no less. I really like Z, don't get me wrong, it's just an thought-provoking story.

Per Enrique Rojas. According to Google Translate it translates to "Mariners called Wily Mo Pena from AAA, said his agent told ESPNdeportes.com." Dingers! (Note: Justin Smoak on the DL, and Luke French DFA'd to make roster room.)

Hey guys, I'm an irregular reader here at Field Gulls, but I had a question I was wondering if you guys could help me with. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't really have any Seahawks apparel, and I wanted to get a jersey. The problem is, I can't decide what player to get. I figure you could go with Hasselbeck, but he's old and I guess it would only be for the nostalgia. I want the jersey to still be relevant in a few years if you know what I mean, so I was hoping you guys could help me pick out a good player for one. I had some ideas like Lofa Tatupu or Earl Thomas, but I think you guys could give me a better idea. Thanks for your time.

I know, 6 months (or something like that) late and all. Definitely not my best Photoshop work, but I wanted to do it before I forgot the idea. Any suggestions would be considered and appreciated. I forgot to mention this is based off the Frost/Nixon poster.

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but it appears that the Yankees may acquire Cliff before his next start (today). The package they are trading for him with is set to contain Jesus Montero. Sorry if this was already posted, but I didn't see it up anywhere.
Joel Sherman updates via twitter that there will be three prospects, and 2B David Adams will be included. He also mentions a third team could be involved.

I thought it was kind of interesting. Would you rather have Pedro or Wash (assuming we sign one)? I assume he would move to the Pen when Bedard came back and would take over for Vargas/Fister in the rotation (I'm assuming if he signs after Lee is back). Remember he is also linked to the Twins and Dodgers, so this by far no sure thing...at all. Just speculation.

I know I've posted quite a few FanShots recently, but I couldn't pass this up. While looking through some old PC games, I came across Back Yard Baseball 2003. I know it's a little strange that I still have that game even though I'm way too old to be playing it. Any way, one of the real players you could pick for your team was Ichiro. Am I the only one that sees something a little funny with this picture?
