Should the Lions skip their pick?
The link is pretty insubstantial, I just thought this would be an interesting topic to raise, and I didn't want to use a FanPost since this isn't Seahawks related.
If the Lions are targeting Stafford, why wouldn't they wait two picks until taking him? The Rams clearly won't take him because of all the money they have invested in Bulger, and the Chiefs aren't taking him because they just picked up Cassel. And we know the likelihood of someone trading up to take him is almost zero as there haven't been any trades into the Top 5 in a decade. If you were the Lions, shouldn't they wait two picks and save themselves a few million in guarantees?
Cutler Traded to Bears
Most likely for two 1sts, and the exceptionally talented Kyle Orton.
BJ Raji tests positive for pot
Not that we were taking him anyway, but its a little more concrete evidence. The best part about the story is the picture showing Raji getting his hustle on.
Hawks bringing in FB Justin Griffith for a visit
From Sando:
"The Seahawks are scheduled to visit with former Raiders fullback Justin Griffith as they consider potential replacements for free agent Leonard Weaver."
Is this the end of Weaver? Griffith seems like a logical choice if Knapp wants to institute a power running game he tried for in Oakland.
Field Gulls Info
Just curious, but could any one tell me when Field Gulls first started and/or who were the original bloggers? Sorry if this is off-topic or anything, I didn't want to use a FanPost for this and I didn't want to add any irrelevant questions to a ongoing discussion so I figured I'd make a FanShot. I only joined last April, so this is my first full offseason reading it.
The Infamous Two-Kicker Approach Exposed
Farnsworth wondering why we have two kickers, and Ruskell assuring us all that they'll both be back in training camp.
Poll: Draft Strategies
So I know we've had a bevy of different opinions when it comes to how we should draft this off-season, but since they've all been scattered among different posts, I'd like to know how many people feel a particular way. I set up the poll using what I thought were the most frequently voiced opinions, but I may have missed a couple seeing as I've pulled two straight all-nighters and am approaching insanity. So feel free to post any other opinions that aren't on the poll.
Also, it would be great for people to post why they voted a particular way, just so we could get some reasoning.

Holmgren to the 49ers????
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8708414/Holmgren-won't-close-door-on-49ers-rumors
"RENTON, Wash. (AP) - So much for Mike Holmgren's quiet motorcycle ride into that self-described "sabbatical" next year.
The exiting coach of the skidding Seattle Seahawks had a chance on Wednesday to slam the door on rumors he is a prime candidate to take over his hometown San Francisco 49ers in 2009.
Instead, he left it partially open."

But seriously, what do people think about this? I mean, I knew he wasn't going to retire for good, but couldn't he at least pick a team outside of our own division?
Also, does anybody here think that much of our failure this season can be attributed to apathy of the players, since they know their leader is gone after the season?

ESPN - Seahawks Question
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/081014&sportCat=nfl&POLL367=4000000000000000
Interesting question posed by Tuesday Morning Quarterback's Gregg Easterbrook:
"Stop Me Before I Blitz Again! No. 2: Seattle blitzed seven as Aaron Rodgers tossed an easy 45-yard touchdown pass to Greg Jennings, making the score Green Bay 17, Blue Man Group 10. The down-and-distance was third-and-6 at the Seattle 45. Since Green Bay was already beyond field-goal range, why was Seattle gambling for a sack in the first place?"
Any answers?

Screw it, let's go get OCHO CINCO
Seriously, why don't we make a push for Chad Ocho Cinco? I brought this topic up a few months ago in semi-jest, and the general reaction was that he wasn't a Holmgren or a Ruskell-guy.
Well, if our alternatives at wideout are Courtney Taylor and Logan Payne and the newly acquired McMuffin, we should be in desperation mode as far as wideouts go. Don't get me wrong, I'm no emo fan that wants to give up on the season after Week 1, but we don't have any one who can catch the ball. The only guy who had solid hands was Carlson and we can't depend on a rookie tight end to account for the 4000yds we want Hasselbeck to throw for.
If the Bengals don't want his distractions any more, I say let's make an offer. He is INSANELY talented. Personally, I don't think he'd be nearly as much of a distraction as he is in Cincy; that locker room has no leaders except for Carson Palmer. I'd love to see Chad try and cause disharmony in our locker room with Lofa and Kerney in there.
Any thoughts on possibly trying to get the Receiver Formerly Known as Chad Johnson on our team?
