Smith Benched for Smith
This development has exciting implications.
Vikes Allegedly Sign Housh
This might be somewhere between "fact" and "logical speculation," but I guess we'll see. No contract deals. I expect something like 2-3 years with the veteran minimum for the first year and not much guaranteed for the next one(s).
Edit: Looking like a false rumor. Apologies
Maybe the best DE left on the roster of a poor defense isn't all that valuable after all
The money quote: " If it weren't for the fact that the Eagles traded away Chris Clemons and a fourth-round pick for him, Darryl Tapp could be hitting the pavement. He hasn't done much in camp or in the preseason. The team recently added Pannel Egboh to the mix, but Tapp appears to be the fifth of five ends."
I gotta say I'm shocked by this. Like most people here, I thought Tapp was about to tear it up, and that we shouldn't give up one of our most talented defensemen. But wow, if he's barely going to make it as a backup on a team that had a legit defense last season, I may be severely overvaluing him due to the naive thinking that a starter on our team should compare favorably with players around the league and demand compensation comparable to other starters on other teams when traded.
Spiller Signs 5 year, $25M Contract
And with that, now all the important first round picks have signed...
Suh Signs 5 year, $60M+ Deal
Not exactly Seahawks news, but this may complicate negotiations with Okung. If the holdup is on number of years like most reports say, then Suh signing for 5 years may make Okung more reluctant to sign for 6.
Seahawks Waived/Injured Konz
Not that this is all that uncommon for 7th rounders, but you'd still like to see the guy succeed.
