Windy City Gridiron Wootton and Turner.

The Bears have been pretty bad in talent evaluation recently. Jarron Gilbert was released for example on roster cut down day. We currently have three young d lineman on our roster which potentially may be contributors in situations during the season. harrison, Melton,Wootton, and Turner. Melton has become the third-down pass rusher as a tackle. Every now and then we see Melton arriving to hit the QB a second too late. He is slowly becoming better and better each game. He still has a long way to go however. Harrison is a strange case. His play has disappeared and he has not made much of an impact.

I'm very interested in our young d ends though. So after the release of Anderson and  Charles Grant it is assumed that Wootton would take Mark Anderson's place, and Turner will take Grant's place.   We haven't gotten to see much from Wootton which is a bit disappointing. I try to keep track when he is on the field. Also now that Turner is on the 53-man roster will he take Wootton's place on game days? Lovie says Turner can rush the passer. The article also says that Turner was doing special team preparation so it is a strong indication of dressing him on game day. What do you guys think about Wootton and Turner? Should they deserve more playing time? Are they potentially the future of the D-line. Will they make a contribution this year? Also what are your thoughts on Melton aswell?

Windy City Gridiron Now what?

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post/_/id/4664141/did-the-bears-miss-out-on-chudzinski

What's fascinating is this idea the Bears weren't impressed by Chudzinski.

What? The Bears weren't impressed? Are you kidding me? I doubt the Bears know what they are looking for. It has been three weeks and the Bears haven't hired a coordinator on both sides of the ball.

This is not meant to be an insult, but does anybody possess offensive expertise at Halas Hall? When Ron Turner encountered problems over the last few years, there didn't seem to be many people he could turn to for advice. The head coach comes from a defensive background, while the front office has had a much higher success rate identifying defensive talent rather than offensive. Not to mention the fact that the Bears balked at the idea of hiring an offensive consultant after the 2007 season.

But the longer this coaching search drags on, I can't help but wonder if the Bears truly know what they are looking for.

This is showing what a joke the organization has become. The Bears need to clean house. Or else there is only one man left for the job because of all the rejections that have happened.

Windy City Gridiron Amazing Stat.

Today on 670 the Score Mulley and Hanley said this.

Since Lovie has arrived he has drafted 27 defensive players in the 5 drafts he has been a part of. (6th coming up)

Now you think "27 players? Really thats alot! I bet  most are starters on this team." Do you really want to know how many are starters?

12!  Good Joke

10? No

8. No way Jose

6? Closer..

The answer is FOUR. 4 freaking players. Now time to guess who they are.

Tommie Harris- a gimp.

Afalava-A rookie who misses tackles.

Kevin Payne-takes horrible angles and is a straight-line player.

Zack Bowman-Isn't the greatest pass cover guy but he has a chance.

Now you think "Wait a second three of these players  are from recent drafts"  Correct! Payne-2007 draft, Afalava-2009 draft. Bowman-2008 Draft.   Tommie Harris-2004 Draft.

Woah Wait Now! We haven't had I'm sure there are more starters. You are right. Two are playing for other teams. McGowan for Patriots and Harris for Panthers.

So we have not had a continued   GOOD defensive starter from the 2005 Draft to 2009 Draft?   Yeah. Angelo sucks.
