Diamondbacks 6, Braves 4: Breakin' the skid
Record: 8-8. Pace: 81-81. Change on last season: 0
With Gerardo Parra swinging a big stick and strong defense behind a good but not great outing from Ian Kennedy, the DBacks avoided the 4 game sweep at the hands of the Braves with a 6-4 victory on a slightly scorching Sunday afternoon in downtown Phoenix. Not exactly the type of game you'd expect to win when you're in the midst of a 5 game skid, but the DBacks will most assuredly take the victory as they happily say goodbye and good riddance to the Braves and welcome in the Philadelphia Phillies for a 3 game series starting tomorrow, looking to improve upon the ugly 2-5 record they've accumulated this current homestand.

Derrick Hall, Future Commissioner?
Some folks look to Derrick as a future replacement for Budzilla when he finally retires (dies). Nice to see those outside of AZ appreciating what he's done for the DBacks...though I'd like it if they appreciated him a little less and didn't try to steal him away, please.
Joe Saunders returning to the DBacks
Joe's coming back to the DBacks on a one year deal. Pretty much what the DBacks wanted from him from the start. No details on the money yet, but it mustn't have been much seeing as the team seemed to be stretched to its payoll limits before the signing.
Fangraphs Top 15 Prospects: Arizona Diamondbacks
Fangraphs looks at the top 15 in the DBacks farm system. And they really, really like the pitching.
DBacks eyeing Carlos Pena?
Not a whole lot of substance here, but assuming the Cubs may just want to dump salary this could be a non-terrible thing to help the first base hole. Assuming it doesn't take much more than eating the contract and a middling prospect or two, that is.
Brandon Webb Unlikely To Pitch Again In 2011 Due To Shoulder Problems
Stop me if you've heard this before...
Dude has to be done at this point. Poor guy.
Alan Faneca is a Cardinal!
Darren Urban is reporting the Cards have signed Alan Faneca. Great pickup by the birds, in my opinion. One year guaranteed for 2.5 mil looks like.
SI's Preseason Predictions
Not a whole lotta love for the Snakes, but it looks like Jon Heyman thinks Justin Upton's due for one hell of a year.
Garland Signs with Padres
Looks like his tour of the NL west is in full swing.
