Jonathan Sanchez traded to Rockies for Jeremy Guthrie

LOL is it possible Sanchez's ERA could get worse now, pitching in Coors' Field? Also, I guess this means we're going to face him this year!

Brandon Roy agrees to sign with T-Wolves

Oh well. At least now we can focus on Rush.

Freddy Sanchez to have back surgery, out for the year

Damn. Poor Freddy. Really liked him during his brief stint with us. Hope he makes a recovery soon and returns to the player he once was.

Dallas, LA Clippers, Utah agree to 3-way deal in principle

"The Mavericks, Clippers and Jazz have agreed to a trade in principle that would send Mo Williams to the Jazz and Lamar Odom from Dallas to the Clippers, as long as Mo Williams elects to opt-in on his $8.5 million contract by Saturday. Williams and his agent are surely gauging interest throughout the league to see what kind of offer he might get if he opts out and becomes an unrestricted free agent, but this deal looks like it is likely to happen. The Mavs would send Odom to the Clippers, who would send Williams to the point-guard challenged Jazz. The Mavs would get a trade exception from the Jazz and be rid of Odom and his contract. Stay tuned."

Waiters to Warriors becoming more likely

Dion has been traced to us in the past week, but it seems like the interest is really starting to build up now.

Question for the local (SF) guys:

Any of you guys been to the Pro-Am at Kezar recently? Not to see Kiwi Gardner or Matt Barnes or even Dorell Wright, but to see this cat Wendell McKines? He completely tore up the Pro-Am league and I believe he carried that on in college (18 and 11 IIRC). I just saw a tweet saying that he dominated competition at the NBA workouts. So for those who've seen him, how would you feel if we took him in the second round?

Cam Johnson SackSEER (scroll all the way down to table at the bottom)

FO has Cam's SackSEER at 10.8. (For those who don't know, SackSEER is a metric that predicts the total amount of sacks in the prospect's first five years). But what I also like is how it projected him to be a 2nd-3rd round pick and his SRAM of .48, which is higher than prospects such as Shea McClellin, Andre Branch, and Chandler Jones (then again...Johnathan Massaquoi has an SRAM of .55). Nonetheless, we should be excited about this guy's future.

For all pro-tankers

I know there've been threads all over the place on whether to tank or not, but this article provides some really interesting tables/graphs. Take a look.

David Garrard signs with have to think this takes them out of Alex race, which is a HUGE step for us. (I'm on my phone so I can't post a link but it's on PFT)

Brandon Lloyd, Chaz Schilens visit Niners

A Crabtree-Moss-Lloyd receiver tandem? Yay for divas!

Redskins to sign Josh Morgan

5 year deal...damn. Well now I guess we do need a receiver again...

Otis Smith not interested in Warriors roster?

"Unfortunately for the Warriors, sources said Otis Smith has yet to show serious interest in anyone on their roster. It's not known how the Magic view the Rockets' roster. "Unless something changes and they get a great offer, they're going to keep him," one source close to Smith said."

Anthony Morrow

...has 42 points tonight.

Orlando Cabrera to retire. Damn, was looking forward to a Crawford/Cabrera platoon this year!

Dwight Howard doesn't want to come to GS

According to Sam Amick... Also, I read somewhere that whoever the Warriors will pick up to replace Kwame, they will cut Ish Smith. :'(

Giants claim Heath Bell

Kevin McHale meets with Warriors

Meeting was "informal", but talks could become more serious.

A sad day for not only Giants, but baseball fans around the world.

Warriors looking for a "veteran" coach?

Scroll down a bunch and look for where he talks about the Warriors. TK doesn't say much, but for those who are lazy and don't want to look here's what he had to say: "All is relatively quiet on the Warriors' coaching front -- no indication of any imminent interviews and certainly nothing close to a final candidate list. NBA sources indicate the Warriors are drawing up a large candidate pool and are telling people they are putting a priority on a "veteran." That might put a focus on Boston assistant Lawrence Frank and Dallas assistant Dwane Casey, who have both had head-coaching experience. That also might explain the mini-delay: Both Frank and Casey are busy in the playoffs right now. (And so is Lakers assistant Brian Shaw.)"

B-Diddy still misses Golden State?

"Now in his third season since leaving Golden State, it's obvious that Davis, recently acquired by the Cleveland Cavaliers, still treasures his years with the Warriors. "I think about that a lot," Davis said after Cavs practice on Monday. "We were the most talked about team in the league. We were playing winning basketball. And then ... " He snapped his fingers. "It was over. I feel in Golden State, we never got a chance to take off the way it was supposed to."

NL West firesale continues, Reynolds shipped to Baltimore

This week keeps getting better and better. Adrian Gonzalez: check. Mark Reynolds: check. Russell Martin (assuming he goes to the Red Sox or Yankees as speculated): check. Now if only we could get rid of Ian Kennedy, Chad Billingsley, and Tim Stauffer. I can dream, right?

Astros claim Matt Downs from Giants

Oh well, I liked his defense, not so much his bat though.

Rumor: Giants win claim on OF Cody Ross

Unconfirmed at this point, will post update later. But for the most part, this guy has hit .189 since July 1st. *scratches head

Derrek Lee trade to Atlanta will be "finalized this afternoon"

At least Glaus goes to the bench...>:-) UPDATE: Trade is finalized, the Braves get Derrek Lee, Cubs get 3 prospects.

Padres acquire OF Ryan Ludwick from Cardinals in 3-team deal

Cardinals get: Jake Westbrook, Nick Greenwood Padres get: Ryan Ludwick Indians: Corey Kluber. Figures.

Warriors expected to "clean the house"

"It's expected a serious housecleaning will follow for the franchise, from the management structure to Coach Don Nelson and likely down to the roster itself." Semi-old news, but at least now it's semi-official.
