This is a link to a piece from Mark Story discussing possible nicknames for the Patterson/Meeks combination. There are several suggestions and he has narrowed it down to 4 that you can vote on. Not bad.

Glad to see Patrick Patterson get a little love for All American. We know he is an All SEC caliber player but I am always curious to see how people view him nationally.

Today I saw on rivals.com that John Wall no longer lists UK as a school of interest. This may have been known all along but the site's lead article suggests that this is a new development. Somewhat disappointed, however I never thought he would come here anyway. UK's offense just doesn't fit his game in my opinion. I do not have a subscription to the site and I would guess there is a lot more information relating to this situation. If anyone has any insight let us know.

NBC Sports' college basketball editor is putting together a list of the top 25 Greatest Hoops Programs that is updated every Tuesday. This week they are down to #4. I have been checking this out and his write-ups are pretty thorough. This link may not work next week when the list is updated. You can find it by going to nbcsports.com and scrolling down to the college basketball section. It is easy to find. UK will be in the Top 3 somewhere. I believe this guy went to Kansas so don't be surprised if they end #1.

Forde Yard Dash

Forde Yard Dash

UK made the Forde Yard Dash on ESPN.com a couple times this week. You can click the link to read it all. Below are the points he made regarding UK.

Undefeated And Under Radar
The Dash examines a dozen teams currently cruising without a loss but also without much love. The question: Do they deserve a big hug or a cold shoulder?

Kentucky (24). Wins so far: Louisville, Norfolk State, Middle Tennessee. Sagarin strength of schedule rating: 136th. The Wildcats are allowing only 6.3 points per game, fifth-best in the nation. But until we know more about how good the Cardinals are, it's hard to know how good Kentucky is. The Cats were thisclose to a brutal loss when Middle Tennessee completed a Hail Mary, but receiver Eldred King was tackled on the Wildcats' 1-yard line Saturday night in a 20-14 UK victory. Verdict: Jury still out and likely will remain out until Kentucky plays Alabama on Oct. 4.

Game Balls To Unusual Suspects
Robbie McAtee (37), Kentucky. Another former walk-on senior who was absolutely in the right place at the crucial time. It was McAtee, a defensive back making his first career start, who clamped down on the left ankle of Middle Tennessee receiver Eldred King and pulled him down a yard short of the winning Hail Mary touchdown on the final play in Lexington.

Andre Woodson cut by the Giants

It has been reported on ESPN that Andre Woodson was cut by the Giants. While I am sure he is disappointed, I believe that this is the best thing for him. Now he can find a place where he may get a chance to compete for playing time. As long as Eli is at the Giants, Andre would have never played. Besides Eli, the Giants have Anthony Wright and David Carr as backups. My guess is that he will get picked up by someone and probably be put on the practice squad. Good luck Andre.
