One of my favorite parts of being a Sharks Fan is all of the nicknames and phrases that go along with the team and players. These past few weeks  me and my cousins(fellow Sharks fans) have been making up some nicknames that sound cool with Star Wars characters. This is what we came up with so far, I thought some of these were pretty funny. If any of you have any ideas for nicknames that go with Star Wars characters or just your favorite nickname feel free to post them up!

Well, I am no CTGray, but here is some Shark-related artwork done by me.

These 1st group of pictures isn't an actual piece of art, but it is some what artistic. This is a hockey-table that when I bought it originally had the Red Wings and the Avalanche as the two teams, but then I hand painted them to be the Sharks and the Blackhawks.(I chose the Blackhawks as the other team because Sharks vs the Blackhawks is a  rivalry in my family). Then I added a sticker of the Sharks logo in the middle of the table. Then later I made my own banners of the division champions, the conference champions, and the president trophy. And later came stickers of little banners of other NHL teams and the 2 penets on the side of the table.  

This next piece is when I first started to learn how to use Photoshop. I made this after the Sharks were knocked off  in the Dallas series 2 seasons back. Now for all you Photoshopers you would probably be able to make out my big mistake, but I was a rookie when I did this. 

This next piece  is a collage using mixed media . This was made on wood and done with paint and magazine clippings.

Now this is another Photoshop piece. I made this so I wouldn't have to look and Patrick Kane's(20-Cent) ugly mug on my copy of NHL 10. 

This piece was done on scratch broad. 

So that is some of the artwork I have recently done that is Shark related. Next year I and going to start college and major in art. I still don't know what field I want to go in, but I am aiming for Graphic Design. If I ever go into Graphic Design my goal would be to make the next NHL Team's logo. So then I could wear their jersey and say I made that logo! Go Sharks!!!

To me there are 7 players that have made a mark from coming up from Worcester. Jason Demers, Logan Couture, Frazer McLaren, Ryan Vesce, Benn Ferriero, Derek Joslin, and Jamie McGinn. In the next few weeks I think we are going to see who is going to stay in San Jose and who are going to be shipped out Worcester. And if there were only 3 players I had to pick it would be Demers, McGinn, and McLaren. I would choose those 3 because I think that the Sharks defense is better with Demers. And I would pick McGinn because I think that the Sharks need that extra speed and another person that can drive to the net from at the bottom six. And lastly I would pick McLaren because I think in the long run he could be the next Kyle McLaren(when he was good) but well rounded out. But I hope these 7 players stay within the organization because I think they will all be solid players at their positions.

After a good month in to the season I have been thinking about what has made us better than last years team. It seems like last year it was "Pick Your Poison" when defending the Sharks-(if you didn't defend Thornton then Marleau would score, if you didn't defend Pavs then Clowe would score). But that scenario only worked with the Top 6 and the 1st line D. With this team I think it is the same "Pick Your Poison", but with the whole freaking team is able to score and bite the other team in the butt. For example on the Carolina game- Huskins, Staubitz, Murray, and Vlasic scored and they are all not big goal scorers. Also I doubt anybody thought Ortmeyer would already put up3 goals by now. Another bonus with this years team is that we are younger. And last year the team was very old(Lemieux, Roenick, Grier, and Boucher). This year our rookies and young guns have been excellent! Ferriero, Demers, and Vesce have made a HUGE impact and many Worcester call-ups have produced a least a point so far. And one last plus I have seen, our bottom 6 are overall have been better than last year. The new bottom six seem to always bring 110%, energy, and have produced very well point wise.

I know with positives there are negatives like this year I think our D got worse and that having a rookie goalie being the back up is some what worrying, but I like this team a lot and it is definitively stacked right now. And to all the FTFers out their what is your grade for the Sharks. Mine is B+.

Hi, I joined blog a bull recently and I am also on another sports blog site- Fear The Fin for the San Jose Sharks. I have been a bulls fan all my life and I can't wait for this season to start. I also play video games and the last 3 years I have been playing the NBA2k series. And I haven't played a NBA Live game since the 06 one. And I am not sure which game to get between the two series. I have already downloaded the NBA Draft Combine with D Rose as the cover man(For Xbox 360) and it was really fun and 2k10 looks amazing! But NBA Live looks good too. So to all the Bulls fans or B-ball fans that play which series or game is better and whats your take?

Very interesting singing. Looks like third line is geting some major depth. But now with Manny the team looks even better than before.

I got NHL 10 right after school on  tuesday and I LOVE this game!!! This goes at the top of my list for hockey video games. 1.NHL 10  2.NHL 01  3.NHL 09  4.NHL Hitz  5.NHL 2k7. For people that play hockey video games what is your fav and what do you think of NHL 10 (if you have it or want it.) Also what do you think about Manny.

Well now since Danny Heatley  is FINALLY A SHARK. I was thinking what lines could we be seeing now with Cheechoo and Michalek gone. I think now with Heatley you definitely have to put him with Thornton, so now you almost have a Jordan to Pippen (like) combo at the 1st line. Another must have paring is Marleau and Setoguchi, because they both played well together on the 1st line last year and having them together wouldn't be totally killing the chemistry over from last season. The D and the 4th line I can't definitely get a fool proof idea for, but here is my prediction on the lines for this up and coming season. (Post your projected lines).

Also-WELCOME DANNY HEATLEY!!! IT ONLY TOOK 3 1/2 MONTHS FOR YOU TO GET HERE. I will miss Cheechoo my own personal favortie player, but now we have one of the elite scorers in the game. Now for Michalek...  I honestly didn't care for him. Yes, there would be times he came in the clutch or had a kick ass breakaway goal, but he was just like a Grier-tons of effort but no production. So now I am going to go crazy waiting for the season to start!

Well now since Doug Wilson FINALLY made a trade, the Sharks have some cap to play around with. They have just re-signed Torrey Mitchell and Brad Staubitz. And the latest reports and rumors state that the Sharks are going after Phil Kessel. And signing Kessel would be a smart  move and a more likely move to happen than trading for Danny Heatley. And IF Phil Kessel goes to the Sharks I can't see Kessel and Cheechoo being on the same team (just because of cap and the lines). And since Marleau got his title of captian stripped it seems like it has been a domino effect of moves going on. So to all of the Sharks fans- Do you see Kessel going to the Sharks? Is Cheechoo the next to go? And are you also going crazy for hockey season to finally start?!

Recently I ordered a Sharks movie off Amazon called the Fintastic Voyage: The Inaugural Season of the San Jose Sharks (1991-1992). It was one of the best, funniest, and cheesiest Sharks movie I have ever seen! And is probably the only Sharks movie so far. This movie had all the OLD SCHOOL Sharks players like Pat Falloon, Doug Wilson, Brian Mullen, and Arturs Irbe. And showed how everything Sharks started. After watching the movie this made think about all of the greatest players that have ever played for the Sharks(but don't play for the team now). For example Owen Nolan, JR, Mike Ricci, Steve Shields, Jeff Friesen, and Vincent Damphousse. So one question to all Sharks fans-Which former sharks player should have their jersey retried first?

Everybody can make a good point for their case, but who should wear the "C"? And it can be Marleau if you think he won't be traded. I think it should be Danny Boyle(still having Marleau on the team) because he has won a Cup and it seems other teams with their number one D-man as their captain do well. Like Nick Lidstrom, Scott Niedermayer, and the list goes on and on. So! Who is your captain????

I read about two weeks ago on ESPN that the Sharks discussed the possibility with Ottawa for trading for Heatley, but the talks were put on hold. And there has been the Columbus trade and all the Nabby, Marleau, and cheechoo trade rumors galore. So my question is- what do all you think will be the trade that DW will pull out? And have any of you heard any recent trade rumors?
