NFL 12/24 OT
Good grief Tebow is fun to watch. I dont care if you hate him, you should still love him just for entertainment value.
He really looks good out there today again Buffalo, not looking overmatched at all.
And umm, LOL @ Houston
LOL@NE
Cowboys, we're screwed as far as a wild card. In order to get one we'd have to count on Atl losing to TB at home in the final game of the season. Yeah.
Go Jets.
Also, I really think a lot of ESPN and other "analysts" need to be fired for how wrong they were about Cam Newton. These guys flat out stated he cant throw, and he's going to throw for 4,000 yards as a rookie. Why is there never any repercussions for these guys being so wrong time after time?
ALCS ratings down 20%
Ouch. Looks like the Rangers arent exactly setting the world on fire.
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/15752124/small-markets-weather-hurt-tv-ratings-for-nlalcs
NEW YORK -- With small markets and bad weather, baseball's league championship series drew far fewer television viewers than last year.
The NLCS on TBS, with the St. Louis Cardinals beating the Milwaukee Brewers in six games, averaged a 2.9 rating. That was down 43 percent from the 2010 ALCS on the cable channel, when the six-game Rangers-Yankees series averaged a 5.1.
The ALCS on Fox between Texas and the Detroit Tigers averaged a 4.4 over six games, down 20 percent from the 5.5 for the six-game Giants-Phillies NLCS on the network last season.
Ratings measure the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program.
OT: NFL offensive coordinator nonsense thread/season begins
So tonight the NFL season kicks off.
As always Sharky is here to provide some insight with his proven coordinator methodology.
Unfortunately at this point although they never explicitly say it, everybody else has copied sharky.
For example, Sharky spotted an easy one from a mile away, Josh McDanials, arguably imo the best OC in football, moves to St Louis. Uh oh! Possible huge momentum change nobody sees! Sharky thought.
wahh wah, everybody and their dog now predicts the Rams to win that division.
Here we have another, Wade Phillips moving to Houston to bolster that defense, the worst in football.
wah wah, everybody and their dog in the national media sees the same thing and Houston now the trendy pick to win the division, especially with peyton injured.
So yeah umm, I dont have a whole lot. I only have one that's a possibility, that people dont seem to be aware of and hopping the sharky bandwagon, which is Jay Gruden being the new OC in Cincy. I can give you that tip. It's not a sure thing but keep an eye there. Most people are writing cincy off. Dont be so hasty says Sharky. Apparently theyre starting Andy Dalton too, just to up the degree of difficulty. Dont be surprised if Cincy shows life and Palmer rues his holdout. Sharky is alone on this because ESPN ranks Cincy 32nd in their preseason power ranking.
However you have to look at the DC too, who in Cincy is Mike Zimmer, who I dont have a lot of faith in from his Cowboys days, so we'll see.
Oh wait, fake edit, I forgot my second possible sleeper, Washington. It didn't work out last year but the Shanahans are pretty proven, and their DC is Jim Hazlett, yeah outta be pretty good. I'm pretty concerned Washington will be a lot better this year. I hope not of course, but it's troubling.
Other than that, I think the same teams with the same proven OC's will never drop off too far, which is why you'll see New Orleans there, GB there, San Diego there, Philly there, etc etc etc. I am not so sold that Atlanta wont fall off, and GB could too. I dont like either of those teams so I hope so.
Speaking of proven coordinators, I think Philly's offseason spending spree and high expectations is a great chance to finally get Andy Reid out of Philadelphia if they dont win a Super Bowl. And boy I'm ready, it sucks being in the same division as Andy Reid every year.
For Dallas, Garrett is what he is, an above average OC despite a lot of warts, so it's down to defense and Rob Ryan. Want to see something scary? Rob Ryan in Oakland from 2004-2008 as DC, defensive ranks and team record:
2004 5-11, 31st in points allowed
2005 4-12, 25th in points allowed
2006 2-14, 18th in points allowed
2007 4-12, 26th in points allowed
2008 5-11, 24th in points allowed
That my friends is a disaster.
But look I dont care, you have to be optimistic to start a season and I'm optimistic. Throw all that out the window and here's hoping Ryan can get it done. In trying to talk myself into that, I tell myself the Cowboys defense was horrendous last year, if it can be improved just to average the record should improve greatly. I look at youtube interviews of Ryan and he doesn't seem totally stupid. And things like that. So here's hoping.
I also wanna just point out my new pet peeve, because the media is always so biased on QB's. Kevin Kolb is routinely treated by the media as a triple AAA QB and franchise QB.
I looked up his numbers, they're just beyond awful. 78 QB rating last year, and 73 for his career, with all the talent in the world in Philly if you care about such. Incredible. Worse career and season rating, often by far, than media ridiculed QB's like Tebow, Young, Grossman, Alex Smith, etc. Yet, he's a franchise QB. Oh that media, so unbiased.
BTW Tebow had a great preseason, top QB ranking for Denver ahead of Orton 108-104, miles ahead of Quinn. 20-31, over 300 yards, no INT's, rushed for 55 yards...now he did get sacked like 7 times I think, too be fair. But I just find it funny according to media, he's been the worst QB of all time in camp, yet somehow in basically a full preseason games worth of stats that are actually verifiable unlike Mike Young's defensive ratings, he's done great. Cue bubu, he played against backups, never mind so does everybody else in preseason, and he also plays WITH backups. Am I saying this 108 preseason rating means a whole lot? No, but I do find it interesting.
Oh one more thing, offensive line is so important, but the Cowboys up and start 3 rookies like it's nothing, and we all know it wont affect a thing and they'll be fine, of course. Come on, offensive coordinator warming deniers, give it up already. It must be hard for you guys to keep a straight face.
Theirein ends the sharky pre-NFL season ramblethon.

Shocker of the year
So it comes as no surprise that the DMN points out that the Cowboys first team defense allowed 30 points and 489 yards on only 10 possessions, just to show how bad the Cowboys defense is. Some will even go so far as to gleefully point out that while the Cowboys are ranked 23rd in the league with 346 yards allowed per game, the Texans are ranked number one with almost a hundred yards less.
I'm so shocked the Texans defense is going to be massively better this year with a new coordinator! It's because they have such a great GM who drafted all that talent instead of Jerry! That defensive talent was just invisible in 2010 though and it was the worst defense in football somehow, but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. NFL is all about drafting just like we said.
Seriously though of course I despise them but I'm guessing something like 12-4 for the Texans this year solely because now they have a DC. The offense was always there. Hope I'm wrong.
It's just tough being right all the time about football. Next thing you know, St Louis will be really good this year cause they got McDaniels, who could have predicted that???????????????!!!

Screw the NFLPA
According to an article I just read the players are dragging their feet to get more concessions.
Up until recently, it seemed to me like the owners were the bad guys, asking for draconian concessions from the players.
In the last couple weeks it's swung the other way though, it seems like the players are getting everything they want and the owners nothing. The salary cap will only be a little lower than 2009 in dollars, but it seems to me like the owners will be paying more when you factor in all the increases to retired players and the like.
The way I look at it right now, the players know canceling preseason games will cost the owners big $. So they're greedily hanging that over the owners heads.
But I think if you start canceling major blocks of games, forget it. The owners rightfully will probably dig in at that point. The damage will be done. As long as the owners are already in Armageddon, might as well get a good deal out of it, will be their thinking.
The players are playing a dangerous game and better stop it. They have a good deal, sign it.
Ehh, I have a feeling this will all get resolved in very short order by Friday, they've come too far to let a deal crumble, but anyway.

OFFFFFF TOPICCCCCCCCC Cowboys DC search
Well Pasqolini is gone, took a college HC job.
From what I see on blogging the boys, the Cowboys are even interviewing Rob Ryan. Along with previous targets Manusky, and Fangio. Who apparently are both hired by other teams. Steelers secondary coach Ray Horton is another target.
Anyways, a Ryan in Dallas would be quite the circus.
Looks like Garrett is doing the interviewing, so it's a good test to see if Garrett can pick a good assistant.
It's good to see Jerry once again saving the cowboys by addressing the DC position though. Combined with a soft schedule I'm very high on the Cowboys for next year, granted Garret is not a great OC. He is a decent to good one though. I dunno if he's super bowl caliber, but he's 11-5 caliber. And you can always get lucky in the playoffs.
Also interesting fodder about how the Rangers and Texans remain totally irrelevant while Jerry has the Cowboys a bigger draw than ever: http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2011/1/14/1934753/2010-nfl-season-is-most-viewed-ever-cowboys-remain-biggest-draw
The NFL has, of course, traditionally done well on TV, but this year's success is truly unprecedented: for the first time, an NFL game was the most-watched show among all programs in each of the season’s 17 weeks. Five years ago, not a single game made it into the Top 15.
And the most watched team among the top 19 games? The Cowboys of course, despite or perhaps even because of their dismal 6-10 record. The top rated game? The Cowboys' Thanksgiving game against the Saints.
Also, thought this was funny given the media's bias towards the politically correct AFC, and jives with my personal preferences. Most times I'm much more interested in an NFC game (not always though, Balt-Pitt is the game of the playoffs).
At least one NFC East team played in 11 of the top 19 games, as did the NFC North. Only one game out of the 19 did not feature either a team from the NFC East or a team from the NFC North, and that was the 14th-ranked Jets v. Steelers game.
Well anyway, I'm guessing the Cowboys move quick on a DC. Poor Cahill, first the Texans proved me right by hiring a DC, now the Cowboys will be much better (probably) by bringing in a DC. A double whammy.
This posting software is just horrible. I blame George Soros. Or Fox News. It must be Fox News fault. Like global warming.

It's good Tex didn't get Lee
Buster Olney said something on ESPN radio, there were a lot within the Texas organization breathing a sigh of relief they didn't get Lee.
The guy is old, injured, and there's no way he'll be even passable in years 5, 6, SEVEN of that deal.
Go get Beltre or somebody. Or a good, young pitcher for that kind of $. Or keep youngster signed later. Spending it elswhere will be much better.
I am happy Texas got dissed though. The fact is when you're a collection of mercenaries and a team who shows no loyalty to it's players, dont be surprised when they dont give a flip about you. Texas will always be second fiddle until that changes.

NFL 11/14
Well I havent been able to watch the Cowboys game much, but I was afraid this was going to happen.
From what I see the main difference is the refs dont have Wade to hate, so they're not throwing the crucial flags they normally would on the Cowboys. For example, that last Felix screen TD definitely woulda have been called back for some fake penalty normally.
Also, who's the owner in Houston? They really need to fire that guy. The Texans will never win as long as he's the owner.
You cant blame Frank Bush though. It's all about talent and the Houston owner has obviously screwed that up, as owners do. So you pretty much have to keep Bush around.
Looks like my boy Tebow has a couple more TD's in Denver..
Oh and damnit, I forget the yahoo pick em again. This would be my second dropped week so I guess I'm finished there.
Official NFL week 5 thread of GOT DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR?
Post here if you wanna talk about NFL.
Seems to me the last thing the Cowboys need is the Giants to be as good as I thought they might.
BTW, when does each Cowboys game become not "must win" status? Pretty sure slipping to 1-3 is death to playoff hopes, so this week is another must win.
I suppose at 2-2 you can kind of, barely, afford a loss.
I feel pretty good about beating the Titans at home (even though they're yet another in our never ending schedule of good teams), but very wary of Vikings on the road next week the way they handled us last year :/ Hopefully we catch them before they get untracked,
Oh and damnit, I forgot to do pick em and now it's too late. So there goes my low week I guess.

Cowboys/Miami preseason disaster thread
ZZZZZzzzzzz preseason is so boring.
No starters and no Dez? So much for all the hype.
Who thinks the Cowboys may be destined for a debacle season? I dont want to get too worried over preseason but Garrett better get it together. Wade's defense will be there, it's all on Garrett to stop his idiotic situational and red zone play calling.
I think Ron Washington's patented fumes of suckiness are starting to infect the Cowboys.
BTW, just for conversations sake, Tony Romo and Jon Kitnas stats this preseason
| Player | Att | Comp | Yds | Comp % | Yds/Att | TD | TD % | INT | INT % | Long | Sck | Sack/Lost | Rating |
| Tony Romo | 46 | 26 | 287 | 56.5 | 6.2 | 1 | 2.2 | 2 | 4.3 | 30 | 5 | 32 | 64.3 |

OT: Death of 2010 Cowboys, the brutal schedule
Here's the schedule:
@Washington
Chicago
@Houston
Tennessee
@Minnesota
New York Giants
Jacksonville
@Green Bay
@New York Giants
Detroit
New Orleans
@Indianapolis
Philadelphia
Washington
@Arizona
@Philadelphia
That schedule is absolutely BRUTAL.
First of all remember that Washington is going to a lot better because of the Shanahan's and McNabb. But it gets worse. IMO Philly very well will likely be BETTER with Kolb instead of McNabb. Andy Reid/Mornhinweg is a stud and now he has a decent pocket passer? Ouch. The Giants could be better too. Their potent offense of Gilbride and Manning remains, but now they'll have a new defensive coordinator. And defense was by far their weakness last year. I mean even if things dont work out for them, they'll at least be dangerous.
It's just absolutely brutal.
Then we have some of the other games you might think are easy. Like Chicago. But wait, Chicago has Martz this year, so that's not going to be an easy game either.
@Indy? @Houston? @Green Bay? New Orleans? @Minnesota? @Arizona? All just brutal games (with exception of Houston who wont have any defense, but still could be a tough game)
Just look at the games with imo a degree of difficulty of 5.0 on a 5 point scale. IMO you’ve got no less than 4, @Minn (assuming Favre), @GB, @Indy, New Orleans
Just brutal.
I see exactly two "easy" games all year. Detroit and Jacksonville. And Jacksonville won 7 games last year.
I dont know, I have my doubts Garrett is good enough to get it done. I think the Cowboys are one of the 3-4 top teams in the NFC, but they dont stand out. My blueprint for success after last year, I decided by far our best shot was to rack up a great regular season record and get homefield throughout the playoff. I dont think this is the 92 Cowboys just loaded with power or anything, we need to catch some breaks and roll downhill to emerge from the pack.
Bottom line this team COULD have went to the Super Bowl this year, but with that schedule, I have my doubts. Even 10-6 might be a hard task. I hope I'm wrong.
Have I ever mentioned this posting software is just beyond awful? I blame AJM for being a liberal and making his blog on a website funded by George Soros.
I'll go ahead and say the Ramngers will be terrible this year
Yep, I'll say it. Might as well say it now against all the early season love...
I hope so, with how you guys manufactured all this faux Hicks hate and Washington love, I'd certainly like to see that crash and burn.
I read in the DMN Washington believes defense pitching, and situational hitting are the key to winning. Good thing you guys are consistent in rejecting that nonsense. Oh wait, no you're not. You're all behind Ron Washington.

OT: Texans lose Shanahan/NFC East future etc
So, apparentely Kyle Shanahan is head to Washington to join his Dad.
But Frank Bush remains? Yeah, not looking good Texans fans.
And the list the Texans are looking at to replace Shanny? Not looking good Cahill/AJm
Gailey at least is a known mediocre OC, probably even worse now that he must be like 80. The other two are unknowns with no playcalling experience AFAIK, so neither here nor there I guess.
Other candidates to replace Shanahan have ties to coach Gary Kubiak when he coached at Denver: Broncos offensive line coach Rick Dennison, Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave and former Kansas City offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.
As for the NFC East, they say it's unknown whether Mike or Kyle will call the plays, but either way, it's going to be a step up from the pathetic recent skins. Mike was always decent although not great in Denver. The Giants fired their DC too. Reid keeps the Eagles at a high level year after year.
The bottom line is the division just generally gets tougher. With Giants replacing their DC and having Eli, Reid and the Eagles being good, and now Washington will probably greatly improve fast. It's just brutal.
The bottom line is the mighty drafting Texans could be headed for 5-11 next year lol. Cahill destroyed.
Early Cowboy Eagles thread
Well I hope this doesn't violate protocol or something. I'd like to throw some thoughts out there.
I can easily see Dallas winning this game. We are at home. That's so huge right there alone. Romo should just be deadly by this point, in his prime and tons of experience in Garrett's offense. McNabb OTOH, I still feel can be forced into mistakes.
If we lose this game, the defeatist attitude sported by Cowboys fans is going to come rushing back all week, though, despite all the good thing accomplished this year. The last two weeks will mean NOTHING.
TBH, if Garrett doesn't get better in the red zone, even though I feel like he's a good OC, I wont cry if he was to leave for a HC job after this year. We have got to start capitalizing more on opportunities. When was the last time this team scored 30 let alone 40 points? Unacceptable.
Now if JG leaves and we get some suckball, which of course is the risk you take, I will be crying lol.
Dallas is good because of Wade on one side of the ball and JG on the other, both are quality. But the fact is if one side's been slacking lately, it's JG's.
That's another reason I think we can beat the Eagles though, one of these days it seems like everything is going to go right, in that case we are going to put a LOT of points up. And the defense has been super stout.
As for playoffs, I want GB as our first round matchup about 10X more than any other. Ariz is the team I DONT want to face. If we beat Philly Sunday, having to beat them AGAIN wont be fun either. Ugh. So basically, dream scenario for me is beat Philly, win the division, be home against GB...(assuming no first round bye which is likely).
Texans, imma tell you lackluster Texans fans a lil secret, fire that d-coord you're going to be 11-5 plus easy next year. Meaning, I sure hope you dont fire him lulz. He's the Texans very own Brian Stewart.
NFL 11/29 thread
Texans bwahaha. Six losses, no playoffs for the 8th consecutive season.. Need to hire Jerry Jones to consult.
Just kidding, need to fire Frank Bush really. Enjoy your suckball season Texans fans!
Atl and Phil won, but damn, barely over Wash and Tampa at home? Those teams look like crap. Then again the NFL changes so much week to week who knows what it means. But at least right now those teams look sucky, which is more good news for the Cowboys. But I just wonder if Phil and Atl fans bitch and moan about these games like Cowboys fans do? The fact is in the NFL, you just need to win, look pretty next week. The Cowboys would be screwed without those "ugly" 7-6 >Wash and 26-20> KC wins, that everybody bitched about at the time.
Minnesota looks real strong, we're doubtful to get by them in the playoffs one would assume.
Cant wait for the monday night game, great one.
Fascinating lines this week, NO by 2 over NE, and I really want see the Dallas-NYG line, what will it be? I dunno. I'm guessing in a +/-3 points range either way, but interested to see the favorite.
OT: The global warming hoax exposed?
You know, usually in a global warming argument, generally accepted fundamental tenants even GW opponents accept, is that the world is warming. GW opponents and proponents alike will usually say something like "we all agree the world is warming. What we disagree on is if man is the cause". But I've been in plenty of these arguments, and I'll always say, frankly, I certainly dont know enough to say if the world is warming or not. I flatly dont accept "scientists" word for it. There's too much money and bias involved.
Call me a nutjob, but I've never, ever, bought that. I mean, I dont do the data, and quite frankly, I dont trust the "scientists" who do one bit, not one bit. I've already heard evidence that scientists do in fact "adjust" the raw temperature data. Of course then you could get into an argument whether the "adjustments" are legit.
Anyways the point of all this, is I dont even know how legit this is, maybe it'll blow over and turn into some fraud, but apparently the email at a major pro global warming "science" center was hacked, and well, lets just say they dont look good, it appears plenty of likely fraud occured. Of course, I'm sure this will all be spun away by the global warming cover up mainstream media machine in the next few days, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. But anyway... link to get you started.
Umps union says no to baseball replay
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601079&sid=aCHm7rcEG1ps
Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Blown calls by umpires in Major League Baseball’s postseason are part of the game and shouldn’t open the door to instant replay, the head of the officials’ union said.
Using video to review plays such as tags and whether a ball is fair or foul would interfere with the pace of games and turn umpires into “robots,” according to Lamell McMorris, chief negotiator for the World Umpires Association.
I thought I'd post this in reply to AJM's little bullcrap post blaming of course, Selig. You know, because Selig is in league with those icky owners, a liberal like AJM can go blaming a labor union of course, it must all be Selig's doing.

The hypocrisy of the American liberal culture and steroids
So, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Raffy Palmerio do steroids and theyre evil, blacklisted, shunned, hated, destroyers of the game, vile scum.
But Arod and Manny Ramirez do roids, and they're heroes, standing ovations, the media cant pimp Arod in a positive light enough these playoffs can they, it's like watchin them cover Obama.
Food for thought.
Kind of reminds me how Lindsey Lohan violates her DUI probation and nothing (judge gave her..wait for it...another year of probation to retake the class she was supposed to the first time), while if Mike Vick did it he'd get the chair.
Also read more about hero Manny here, no wonder this guy is perennially one of AJM's most wanted FA targets, the same AJM who loved criticizing Juan Gone for attitude http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10246996/Manny:-I-was-in-the-shower-when-Phils-came-back
I still cant believe how shitty and convoluted this forum software is btw, every other forum on earth is smart enough to automatically hyperlink url's, not this one.
Pretty sure George Soros' evil henchmen that run this blogring wrote it.

Gutless Astros fire Cecil Cooper

So, 70-79 gets Cecil Cooper fired. Pretty sure that type of record his first 3 years earned Ron Washington a lifetime contract didn't it?
Just more evidence of the dual standard between the clubs.
You can bet the good 'ol boy Astros wont be hiring any minority replacement, either. I think Obama should investigate.

OT: Are you guys watching this Miami game?
All they wanna talk about is (new OC) Mark Whipple, Mark Whipple, Mark Whipple. Whippleball. Blah blah blah.
He looks like the real deal.
They keep talking him up so much I bet he'll be a head coach by next year..sucks.
But these schemes are amazing, this guy is good. And that's with Jacory Harris making some pretty bad decisions.
What a surprise, another team makes a major turnaround and becomes good in one year, happens to have a new OC..that never happens..
OT: Cowboys 09 bandwagon thread
Well the media has written off the Cowboys to 9-7 and third place in the division by consensus. Of course we know that's BS. It's about the coordinators and between Garett and crucially, Philips fully taking over the defense the boys are in great shape. I expect about a 7-0 start, 12-4 or better, and a good chance of a Super Bowl winning season. So jump on the bandwagon now.
Also looking around the league, we see the Texans already replacing the OC, again proving me right. Also expect the Patriots to fall without McDaniel. I read that OC will be a comination of the QB coach and Belichick there. Expect Belichick to be worming new OC's in by midseason should they stagger, because of course everybody knows it's really the OC that matters, especially the Texans and Patriots.
Looking around the league, the losses of excellent D-cords in Balt and NYG will hurt those teams, and IIRC Indy has a new OC that should serve Peyton well.
BTW, I heard Sean Salisbury on Cowboys preseason radio..he was surprisingly less annoying than he was at ESPN.

OT: Houston Texans latest to admit Sharky is right
So I got this football magazine, and it mentions this about the Texans.
"In the last week of last season, Kubiak turned over the playcalling to to offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan for the first time. An offense that had been one of the leagues worst in the red zone was four-of -four inside Chicago's 20, including three touchdowns in in a 31-24 victory. The playcalling is Shanahan's baby now"
I tell you, I'm shocked, shocked, the Texans would hire yet another young go-getter non-minority offensive coordinator (the first being Kubiak himself), and then turn the reigns over to him.
I mean, why would it hurt to leave Kubiak the playcaller? I mean that stuff doesnt matter right? It's all about the draft, isn't it?
Lol.
Sharky right again. Texans prove it with actions, not words.
Maybe the Texans will be worth a crap this season. In fact probably will. Then AJM can talk about how great their drafts have been, and how Jerry Jones is screwing up the Cowboys because of his terrible drafts..and pretend this whole offensive coordinator change meant nothing.

updated 8:49 p.m. CT, Tues., April 7, 2009L'AQUILA, Italy - Strong aftershocks Tuesday sent a fresh wave of fear across earthquake-shattered central Italy, and rescue crews pulled a young woman alive from a collapsed building about 42 hours after the main quake struck the mountainous region. Eleonora Calesini, a 20-year-old student, was found alive in the ruins of the five-story building in central L'Aquila, said her grandfather, Renato Calesini, in the seaside town of Mondaini.
Wow global warming is even causing earthquakes now..
OT: Dwayne Wade is the best player in the NBA
Or at least, second behind LeBron at best, and waaaaayyy better than Kobe Bryant.
I realized this while watching the redeem team. It's this simple, on the court physically, Wade is a man to Bryant's boy..if you watched them both on the same court it's not even close who's better..Wade is a beast, and built like a linebacker..

OT: Oh that fiscally responsible Obama

I dont even know what to say.
What. A. Disaster.
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama unveiled a multi-trillion-dollar spending plan Thursday that would boost taxes on the wealthy, curtail Medicare, lay the groundwork for universal health care and leave a string of deficits dwarfing any in the nation's history.
In addition to sending Congress his $3.55 trillion budget plan for 2010, Obama proposed more immediate changes that would push spending to $3.94 trillion in the current year.
That would result in a record deficit the president projects will hit $1.75 trillion, reflecting the massive spending being undertaken to battle a severe recession and the worst financial crisis in seven decades
The new deficit total is roughly equivalent to $12,000 for every taxpayer in the United States, or approximately $6,000 for every man, woman and child in America.
The cost of the stimulus bill and the increased bailout support would push the deficit for this year to $1.75 trillion, nearly four times last year's record $455 billion and a percentage of the economy — just over 12 percent — not seen since World War II.
Reserve fund for health care
Obama's plan proposes to build up a $634 billion reserve fund he would use to expand health care coverage to some of the 48 million currently uninsured Americans currently. The fund would represent little more than half the money projected to be needed to extend health insurance to all Americans.
The plan also contains a contentious proposal to raise hundreds of billions of dollars by auctioning off permits to exceed carbon emissions caps, which Obama wants to impose on users of fossil to address global warming.>>
The $1.75 trillion deficit projected for this year would represent 12.3 percent of the gross domestic product, double the previous post-war record of 6 percent in 1983,
Obama's blueprint awards domestic agencies budget increases, on average, of 7 percent in 2010 over 2009 levels. The Pentagon would get a 4 percent boost, to $534 billion next year, but would then get increases of 2 percent or less over the next several years.
So, universal socialized health care that we'll be stuck with forever and will cost us trillions, deficits 4 times as large as under Bush, emmissions caps that will help destroy the economy further and act as basically just another tax increase (Now we know why Democrats are so in love with global warming mythology), spending "cuts" that the article states have never been achieved by past presidents so probably wont happen anway, more tax increases, oh, and average 7% budget increases for federal agencies. Good to see that at a time when Americans are tightening their belts, the government can raise spending even more than usual.
In summary, what a boondoggle..
All this is on top of the 750 billion "stimulus" package and this

WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Democrats unveiled a $410 billion spending bill on Monday to keep the government running through the end of the fiscal year, setting up the second political struggle over federal funds in less than a month with Republicans.
The measure includes thousands of earmarks, the pet projects favored by lawmakers but often criticized by the public in opinion polls. There was no official total of the bill's earmarks, which accounted for at least $3.8 billion.
The legislation, which includes an increase of roughly 8 percent over spending in the last fiscal year, is expected to clear the House later in the week.
Democrats defended the spending increases, saying they were needed to make up for cuts enacted in recent years or proposed a year ago by then-President George W. Bush in health, education, energy and other programs.
The term "spending money like drunken sailors" doesnt even begin to describe the new Democrat administration.
But let me guess, according to Cahill, this is all the Republicans fault.
