Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Blown calls by umpires in Major League Baseball’s postseason are part of the game and shouldn’t open the door to instant replay, the head of the officials’ union said.

Using video to review plays such as tags and whether a ball is fair or foul would interfere with the pace of games and turn umpires into “robots,” according to Lamell McMorris, chief negotiator for the World Umpires Association.

I thought I'd post this in reply to AJM's little bullcrap post blaming of course, Selig. You know, because Selig is in league with those icky owners, a liberal like AJM can go blaming a labor union of course, it must all be Selig's doing.

So, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Raffy Palmerio do steroids and theyre evil, blacklisted, shunned, hated, destroyers of the game, vile scum.

But Arod and Manny Ramirez do roids, and they're heroes, standing ovations, the media cant pimp Arod in a positive light enough these playoffs can they, it's like watchin them cover Obama.

Food for thought.

Kind of reminds me how Lindsey Lohan violates her DUI probation and nothing (judge gave her..wait for it...another year of probation to retake the class she was supposed to the first time), while if Mike Vick did it he'd get the chair.

Also read more about hero Manny here, no wonder this guy is perennially one of AJM's most wanted FA targets, the same AJM who loved criticizing Juan Gone for attitude http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10246996/Manny:-I-was-in-the-shower-when-Phils-came-back

I still cant believe how shitty and convoluted this forum software is btw, every other forum on earth is smart enough to automatically hyperlink url's, not this one.

Pretty sure George Soros' evil henchmen that run this blogring wrote it.

All they wanna talk about is (new OC) Mark Whipple, Mark Whipple, Mark Whipple. Whippleball. Blah blah blah.

He looks like the real deal.

They keep talking him up so much I bet he'll be a head coach by next year..sucks.

But these schemes are amazing, this guy is good. And that's with Jacory Harris making some pretty bad decisions.

What a surprise, another team makes a major turnaround and becomes good in one year, happens to have a new OC..that never happens..

Well the media has written off the Cowboys to 9-7 and third place in the division by consensus. Of course we know that's BS. It's about the coordinators and between Garett and crucially, Philips fully taking over the defense the boys are in great shape. I expect about a 7-0 start, 12-4 or better, and a good chance of a Super Bowl winning season. So jump on the bandwagon now.

Also looking around the league, we see the Texans already replacing the OC, again proving me right. Also expect the Patriots to fall without McDaniel. I read that OC will be a comination of the QB coach and Belichick there. Expect Belichick to be worming new OC's in by midseason should they stagger, because of course everybody knows it's really the OC that matters, especially the Texans and Patriots.

Looking around the league, the losses of excellent D-cords in Balt and NYG will hurt those teams, and IIRC Indy has a new OC that should serve Peyton well.

BTW, I heard Sean Salisbury on Cowboys preseason radio..he was surprisingly less annoying than he was at ESPN.

So I got this football magazine, and it mentions this about the Texans.

"In the last week of last season, Kubiak turned over the playcalling to to offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan for the first time. An offense that had been one of the leagues worst in the red zone was four-of -four inside Chicago's 20, including three touchdowns in in a 31-24 victory. The playcalling is Shanahan's baby now"

I tell you, I'm shocked, shocked, the Texans would hire yet another young go-getter non-minority offensive coordinator (the first being Kubiak himself), and then turn the reigns over to him.

I mean, why would it hurt to leave Kubiak the playcaller? I mean that stuff doesnt matter right? It's all about the draft, isn't it?

Lol.

Sharky right again. Texans prove it with actions, not words.

Maybe the Texans will be worth a crap this season. In fact probably will. Then AJM can talk about how great their drafts have been, and how Jerry Jones is screwing up the Cowboys because of his terrible drafts..and pretend this whole offensive coordinator change meant nothing.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29392964/

I dont even know what to say.

What. A. Disaster.

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama unveiled a multi-trillion-dollar spending plan Thursday that would boost taxes on the wealthy, curtail Medicare, lay the groundwork for universal health care and leave a string of deficits dwarfing any in the nation's history.

In addition to sending Congress his $3.55 trillion budget plan for 2010, Obama proposed more immediate changes that would push spending to $3.94 trillion in the current year.

That would result in a record deficit the president projects will hit $1.75 trillion, reflecting the massive spending being undertaken to battle a severe recession and the worst financial crisis in seven decades

The new deficit total is roughly equivalent to $12,000 for every taxpayer in the United States, or approximately $6,000 for every man, woman and child in America.

The cost of the stimulus bill and the increased bailout support would push the deficit for this year to $1.75 trillion, nearly four times last year's record $455 billion and a percentage of the economy — just over 12 percent — not seen since World War II.

Reserve fund for health care
Obama's plan proposes to build up a $634 billion reserve fund he would use to expand health care coverage to some of the 48 million currently uninsured Americans currently. The fund would represent little more than half the money projected to be needed to extend health insurance to all Americans.

The plan also contains a contentious proposal to raise hundreds of billions of dollars by auctioning off permits to exceed carbon emissions caps, which Obama wants to impose on users of fossil to address global warming.>>

The $1.75 trillion deficit projected for this year would represent 12.3 percent of the gross domestic product, double the previous post-war record of 6 percent in 1983,

Obama's blueprint awards domestic agencies budget increases, on average, of 7 percent in 2010 over 2009 levels. The Pentagon would get a 4 percent boost, to $534 billion next year, but would then get increases of 2 percent or less over the next several years.

So, universal socialized health care that we'll be stuck with forever and will cost us trillions, deficits 4 times as large as under Bush, emmissions caps that will help destroy the economy further and act as basically just another tax increase (Now we know why Democrats are so in love with global warming mythology), spending "cuts" that the article states have never been achieved by past presidents so probably wont happen anway, more tax increases, oh, and average 7% budget increases for federal agencies. Good to see that at a time when Americans are tightening their belts, the government can raise spending even more than usual.

In summary, what a boondoggle..

All this is on top of the 750 billion "stimulus" package and this

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/House-Democrats-propose-410B-apf-14450221.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Democrats unveiled a $410 billion spending bill on Monday to keep the government running through the end of the fiscal year, setting up the second political struggle over federal funds in less than a month with Republicans.

The measure includes thousands of earmarks, the pet projects favored by lawmakers but often criticized by the public in opinion polls. There was no official total of the bill's earmarks, which accounted for at least $3.8 billion.

The legislation, which includes an increase of roughly 8 percent over spending in the last fiscal year, is expected to clear the House later in the week.

Democrats defended the spending increases, saying they were needed to make up for cuts enacted in recent years or proposed a year ago by then-President George W. Bush in health, education, energy and other programs.

The term "spending money like drunken sailors" doesnt even begin to describe the new Democrat administration.

But let me guess, according to Cahill, this is all the Republicans fault.
