Jordan Williams signs with Nets
So whether you agree with his leaving early for the NBA or not, it's reported that Jordan Williams signed with the Nets today on the first day of training camp.
The Nets have announced the signings of their two rookies, MarShon Brooks and Jordan Williams as well as three Springfield Armor players, Dennis Horner, Jerry Smith and JamesOn Curry, as training camp invites.
Brooks, the Nets only first round pick, will earn $1.1 million and Jordan Williams, a little less than a half million dollars. The training camp invites are paid under a different system. If any of the three look good, the Nets could sign them to guaranteed, partially guaranteed or non-guaranteed player. Only Curry has NBA experience.

Greivis' big pay day
it's quite interesting to see Chavez personally getting involved with Greivis' career
Jordan Williams
Hey everyone. I've been a long time follower of the site, and decided to make a little fanpost of our 2nd round pick, Jordan Williams. I've been following MD basketball for quite some time now, and I wanted to share a few thoughts about our new member.
First off, the kid was barely recruited out of high school. Being from UConns backyard, never received an offer to play for them even though he was Mr.Connecticut his senior year. I believe he was barely top 100. Due to an academic eligibility to one of the upper classmen, he got a chance to start early on for the Terps and never gave up his starting position even when the teammate became eligible again. He kept improving throughout the year, put up 20+ pts and 10+ boards in one of the NCAA tournament games. I believe he ended up with around a 10 pt/9 reb average, finishing as a runner up to Derrick Favors for ACC Rookie of the year.
This past year, he became the first option for the Terps. Having graduated 3 seniors (including Greivis Vasquez), he had to carry his team, resulting in a 17 pt and 12 reb avgs. Although the numbers vastly improved, being the first option wasn’t a good look for JWill, and many times when he got the ball, no one else got any touches. His free throw shooting is another area of concern. However, while his range is limited, he has very good hands/soft touch, and he will be able to finish around the basket. Although every scouting report says he is overweight (which he is), he had no problem running the break

IMHO, he was the most efficient his freshman year as a role player, going after offensive putbacks and Greivis getting the ball to him in the right places, which I have no doubt DWill will be able to do. He has played with a chip on his shoulder going from a barely recruited high schooler to All ACC Rookie Team to All ACC First team. He is a willing worker (as evidenced by almost 40 lbs lost since HS), and I'm sure being drafted in the 2nd round is another reason for him to prove all the doubters wrong. Anyway, i think I went on too long, if anyone has any questions about JWill, I will try my best to answer.

MD reaches out to MOMO Jones
I'm pretty sure it's highly unlikely, but we can't go a day without some kind of recruiting news right?

Player said new Maryland assistant Dalonte Hill had also reached out. The Terps recently lost point guard Sterling Gibbs to Texas.
Jones will have to sit out the upcoming season unless he is granted a waiver from the NCAA and would then have two years of eligibility remaining.
JWill predraft measurements
I knew JWill was definitely not 6-10, but he isn't even 6'8!! It also looks like he lost 13 lbs. There's also a video included in the link showing his workout. Pretty funny though how he still claims hes 6-9.5 or 6-10. Anyway, good luck Jordan!
"Not only has Williams put in some serious work on his body, he's also made a considerable effort to add to his game. Williams was one of the few players in three-on-three competition not named Jon Diebler confident enough to attempt jump shots under the one-shot-and-out rules the prospects were playing under. We didn't see much in the way of a midrange game from Williams at Maryland, but his form looks compact, consistent, and is definitely a notable development in his arsenal."
