Miraculously, the Leafs are in third place with 15% of people thinking they will actually win the division. The only teams ahead are Boston and Buffalo at 32 and 34% respectively. I know these polls are meaningless, but SUCK IT S*ns and Habs! Obviously the sheer number of Leafs fans, combined with our awesomeness of late, are contributing to this.

TSN is reporting the Roberto Luongo has suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs and will be out at least a week, meaning former Leafs great Andrew Raycrap will be their starter for at least a few games.

Ron Wilson announces that the Leafs will start the season with Happy Trails, Komikazee, and Tomas wearing the A, one of whom will be named Captain later on.

TSN is reporting that Nikolai Zherdev has signed with the KHL club Salavatovo Yuleav Ufa, ending the slim chance he could have wound up in Blue and White (unless they coincidentally also wear those colours). The legitimacy of this story is debatable, considering TSN still hasn't reported Joey Mac's signing in Toronto.
