KC Star: Huckabee is Out(and quoting George Brett)

Quoting Royals great George Brett, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee bowed out of the Republican presidential race Tuesday night.
"We kept the faith," Huckabee said from Irving, Texas, "and that for me has been the most important goal of all."
Huckabee said he hustled every day of his campaign the same way Brett did during his years as a Royal.
Of Brett, Huckabee said, "He gave it his best all the way to the very end."

Royals spring training. I think it's at 7pm. I'm glad to see them doing a little segment like this. I wonder if we can still expect to see shows like The Royals Insider and The Blue Crew. My boys love that show. Everytime our doorbell rings they think Sluggerrr is here with a bag of goodies. I don't know why, but I always thought that was one of the Royal Wife's that hosted that show. Just found out recently it's not (or if it is she uses a different last name.)

Seeing that Mike Sweeney signed with the A's brought to mind the A's signing of Emil Brown, a deal that pretty much slid under the radar last month.
Brown signed for $1.45 million for one year, a far cry from the $3.45 million he made with the Royals last season. Believe it or not, I used to get into arguments with the few Emil Brown fans out there who insisted that if the Royals didn't re-sign Brown, he'd certainly land a "major" deal with another team.
And by major deal, these e-mailers were sure that Brown would go for $7 million or $8 million a year on the open market. Hmmm. Haven't heard from them in a while.

Our Fanfest Experience

Our gang had a great time at Fanfest. The lines were long, but it wasn't like standing in line at the DMV. It was like being at a 3 ring circus. There was always something going on around us. We got there Saturday about 10:15 and stayed until closing. My seven year old cannot wait until next year. His favorite part was getting Billy Butler's autograph on his Royals lunchbox. My wife's favorite part was some good natured ribbing from Migeal Olivo after she snapped a pic of him he wasn't expecting. My favorite part was listening to the reverand Trey Hillfire whip Royals fans up into a frenzy. My twin's favorite part was the cotton candy. Here are the pics...

Slugerrr after he stole Lane's lunchbox

Eating lunch on the floor (someone thought 3 small tables would be enough for thousands of people..hehe)

Enjoying cotton candy

Migeul flirting with my wife (it's ok, he's a Royal) and Bale
