Shooto 3rd round took place last night in Japan, where Kyoji Horiguchi (pictured) defeated longtime Shootist and ADCC grappler, Tetsu Suzuki, by TKO two minutes into their fight. Also on the card, Yasuke Yachi defeated Shigeki Osawa (of Sengoku and Amateur wrestling fame) by decision. Former Champ, BJ Kojima, continued to be unimpressive as he dropped a decision to young Korean Nam Jin Jo. And Shinji Sasaki drew with Daisuke Hoshino.
Volk Han returned to Japan after many years to attend RINGS Reincarnation. Chris Haseman lost his match. Naoyuki Kotani won his.
Kawajiri vs. Donald Sanchez has been announced by both promotions (DREAM and One FC) for their "One FC: War of the lions" event on March 31st. You might know Donald Sanchez from his regional run, which has encompassed most of the United States, in promotions like KOTC (where he has won a belt). You might also remember him for being Hatsu Hioki's last meal before entering the UFC. Kawajiri, who has looked great at his new division of 145 lbs, talks about using elbows in this upcoming fight. He is coming off a big win in which he trashed Olympian Miyata at his own game of wrestling.
Akhiro Gono - who has been making the Kickboxing circuit recently - will be facing Michael Chandler at Bellator 67. Gono recently had a fight in DEEP against Daisuke Nakamura; he missed weight and was deducted two points, which caused him to drop a decision.

DREAM is expected to release their '12 schedule this week or sometime during the next, according to Sasahara Keiichi's Twitter.
Minowa returns to action against unknown Shigeki Tsuchiya on March 11th during the Gladiator 30 show (same day as Pancrase). Minowa is coming off a loss in Hawaii against Kendall Grove of TUF fame. This will be his 4th time fighting in the promotion since its construction.
