What a great crowd and a great show put on by the Rays. We had absolutely a great time, sat around some very passionate fans and in no way were those folks lazy. The group in front of us treated my kids as if they were part of their family.

I am not saying that I am a better fan than the locals. I have lived in South Carolina for 4 years now after living the previous 10 in Lutz. Believe me, when I was living up there it was hard to get to the park for pathetic teams. I am just saying, when something great is going on, I wish the folks from Tampa would drive over instead of watching it on TV.

I live in Bluffton, SC and subscribe to the Extra Innings Package. Just walked in and turned on the TV to another empy house. You locals have got to be the laziest bunch of folks on earth.

My wife is packing right now for us to go to St. Pete for the fourth time this summer to see the Rays. We have two children and my brother drives up from Ft. Myers to meet us. Each time we come, we go to two games, spend two nights in a hotel, drive 6 1/2 hours for the honor of getting to see the Rays do something absolutely special.

Our household income is < $90k and we save money by packing our lunches for each day and take advantage of the down-town Publix for the Chicken Family Meals.

If we can drive for 6 hours - you $#!!!*&#$ from Hillsoborough can drive across the bridge. See you tomorrow and Sunday - Section 124.

Kazmir Pitch Count Issues = June 11th Start

I hate to be conspiracy theorist - and I have no statistical documentation to back it up -- but I think that Kazmir's pitch count issues can be tied to the June 11th game against the Angels. Remember, it was a day game and Kazmir was dominant but Umpire Derryl Cousins would not call any third strikes, all the K's were swinging.

Kazmir was very vocal in the press about his issues with Mr. Cousins and I believe that event alone turned the Umpire Community against Kazmir. Before that start, 100 or so Kazmir pitches would get you 7 innings. Now 100 Kazmir pitches will get you about 5 innings on average.

I am pretty new to the Draysbay community, so you guys may have discussed this already.

ESPN Radio

I travel quite a bit for a living and have been listening to ESPN Radio on Sirius this morning. The lead story on every sports break is that with last nights loss to the Mariners - the Red Sox are only 2 1/2 games out. The tone of the story is the Rays are folding due to this loss (In the 9th inning of just one game).

The Rays are playing at about a .680 clip since the All-Star Break and the story should still be on the "Never Say Die" Rays - but they always have to slant it towards the Red Sox taking over in the East.

Johnny --- We love you but you are absolutely killing us brother. Please go to Joe & Andy and volunteer to go down to work on your swing. You had plenty of opportunities the last month or so to get back in the saddle - but it just isn't happening.

April 13 Hits - 10 K's

May 5 Hits - 10 K's

June 4 Hits - 8 K's

July 4 Hits - 9 K's

0 for August with 3 K's
