What's the theory?  What's the rationale?  I trust the front office, I just like running the loops through my brain in a war-gaming situation.  Is this confidence that most of our team will come back because of Smitty?   Is this a factor of so much uncertainty in CBA that the musical chairs will net us plenty of great personnel?  Weems almost broke another TD, but for a horse collar.  Finding a kicker proved to be the undoing of 2009, so why would we not pay Bryant some coin?  Or is TD reading the tea leaves and looking at the newly beefy Bucs, thinking we need to bulk up on the lines?  What am I missing?   I can see several rationales, but I turn to other Falcons fans to have their say.

Was anyone else looking at the body language of Smitty during the 4th Quarter?  I'd like to read other fans' input after the NFL Network Replay or if they rewind to that point on their DVRs.    First, he was projecting the perfect Head Coach knows what's going on/ we have a plan for this.  A warm visage, not worried at all -- albeit likely a "game face" because he knows his guys have been slammed around all game.   After the "Special" Weems TD but before Grimes' INT, he's bobbing his head more, thinking there's a chance.  Then, after the pick, he's naturally excited ... but there is one split second when AB comes to hug him, where Smitty's face over AB's shoulder registers relief to the tune of  "Wow, we got lucky."  Then again, maybe he was just excited the game was basically decided at more than 9 or 11 seconds to go...
