The Dream Shake McGrady for Boozer? -- Updated

In his article about the Jazz today (nba.com), David Aldridge predicts the Jazz will match the Portland offer sheet for Millsap and trade Boozer to avoid luxury tax hell. He mentions three potential trades to Miami, Detroit...and Houston!?

"If Houston wants to hedge its bets against Yao Ming's future, and give Luis Scola some help inside, if only for a year, it has the document -- Tracy McGrady's expiring $22 million contract -- to get to chatting. It's unlikely Utah would part with Boozer and Matt Harpring, long a Sloan favorite, for basketball reasons. But that would be a relatively painless way for the Miller family to get out of tax hell relatively quickly."

Given my hatred for the Jazz my gut reaction is -- no way! However, Boozer would be highly motivated since he's in the final year of his contract and might give the Rockets that inside punch they're lacking. I always think of Matt Harpring as a current generation Bill Laimbeer. You hate him unless he's on your team. Can you every have enough toughness? I say to Morey...go for it. Thoughts?

UPDATE 7/15:

"The Jazz told me they want to go in a different direction and I respect their decision," Boozer said Tuesday during an interview with WMVP. "We mutually agreed to work out a trade that was beneficial for them and beneficial for my family and me. So with that being said I'm gonna be traded relatively soon or in good time."

"I've had a couple of spells, injuries that I can't control but my body feels 100 percent," Boozer told WMVP. "I'm healthy and doing really well. I'm looking forward to next season so much to prove to everybody that I can play through the whole season and at the same time to dominate again, so I'm looking forward to it."

Because of Morey's multi-year time horizon on all his moves I'm doubting this will happen. Miami, New York, or Detroit are probably more likely...but it's looking like a trade is definitely coming for Boozer in the next few days. Since it's a contract year he's definitely going to put up big numbers for somebody this season.
