Big D Soccer El Matador, FCD's Latino SG, banned for six games because of smoke bomb.

Straight from the mouth of one of El Matador's leaders, they were banned for six games just for setting off one smoke bomb during the CONCACAF CL game against Toronto. Shortly afterwards they were pressed upon by security and police, stating they were trying to 'incite a riot'.

Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt was in Pittsburgh with Joey Porter, as was Arizona LB Clark Haggans. It's like a homecoming for Porter.

Revenge of the Birds Gandy injured in 2nd quarter, Bridges in.

Darren Urban reported something and I felt it should be discussed.

"GANDY BANGED UP

Starting left tackle
Mike Gandy was forced to leave the game early because the pelvis injury – which has limited him in practice the past few weeks – flared up. Whisenhunt said Gandy will be looked at today, but “he has been struggling with that.” The Cardinals’ offensive line has started as a unit in 27 straight regular-season games and 31 overall including the postseason.
Veteran
Jeremy Bridges replaced Gandy and Whisenhunt said Bridges played well. Bridges also was satisfied with the performance, especially since he had never played left tackle in a regular-season game previously.
“The whole preseason I played left tackle (while with Washington),” Bridges said. “But that’s the first time in a game that counts.”

Revenge of the Birds Geez Beanie: Rookie RB Injured in first practice in Flagstaff

What a first day for Beanie!        Php4a74f0e1c46a9_medium

Beanie Wells comes in at 3 AM after signing his first contract.  He's jacked up about being at camp at lunchtime when talking to the media.  Then in his first practice his left leg is rolled on and he's carted off with what is apparently an ankle injury. Now up here in Flagstaff with so much territory between the field and the locker room, being carted off isn't as scary as it usually is. Even a minor leg/ankle injuries usually gets the cart and hopefully that's all it is. We won't know until tomorrow afternoon's practice; there is no media availability at lunchtime on Sunday.

Revenge of the Birds Once again, Neil Rackers proves he is a beast.

I was checking out the Fantasy Files on nfl.com and who did I come by? Why, our friendly neighborhood place kicker, Neil Rackers. I am throwing down this link so y'all can see this beast in action.

Neil "I actually tackle people" Rackers' accuracy.

Make sure you turn the sound up so you can hear what happens right.

Revenge of the Birds Why, from this point on, you don't listen to Brian Baldinger.

Baldinger: Offense will change

The Cardinals will be fine on defense. Pendergast is a talented coordinator, and he had survived a couple of coaching changes in Arizona, so the team had continuity on defense throughout those changes.

Offensively, while I like Russ Grim, and the Cardinals will run the ball more frequently and effectively, I think they'll lose a little on that side of the ball. They'll lose some in the passing game. Haley was very tough on players.

You saw his toughness on the sidelines in the playoffs. He called some very good games. I think they'll be different on offense, and I'm not sure the passing game will be as elite without the play calling of Haley, who learned a lot from Bill Parcells on how to handle QBs. I think the Cardinals will miss something without Haley.

The Cardinals put it together in the playoffs last year, and had a terrific NFC Championship Game against the Eagles. I think to get to the Super Bowl again is a real stretch for this team. They almost caught lightning in a bottle during the playoffs last season. That's tough to expect again this year.

Revenge of the Birds Anquan Boldin Fires Agent Drew Rosenhaus

Just reported by ESPN, Anquan Boldin has fired his long time agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Pro Bowl receiver Anquan Boldin has informed agent Drew Rosenhaus, the Arizona Cardinals and the NFL Players Association of his plans to fire Rosenhaus amid stalled attempts to force a trade or a new contract.

Boldin Boldin

Rosenhaus, who represents more NFL players than any other agent, had tried pressuring the Cardinals into trading the 28-year-old receiver.

"Regarding Anquan Boldin, let me say that I have great respect for him. I'm hopeful we can work this out and he can return to the Rosenhaus Sports family in the near future. We are proud to continue to represent his brother, D.J. Boldin," Rosenhaus said in a statement to ESPN.com. "We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that we have signed Will Allen to a 2-year contract extension with the Dolphins worth $16.2 million. We are pleased to announce today that we have re-signed New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey [to a representation agreement]."

Shockey was reportedly considering new representation.

A Cardinals spokesman declined comment.

Boldin has two years remaining on a contract Rosenhaus renegotiated in 2005. He has stepped up attempts to secure a new deal after teammate Larry Fitzgerald signed a four-year, $40 million extension in 2008. The Cardinals have said they first plan to renegotiate contracts for safety Adrian Wilson and linebacker Karlos Dansby.

Boldin reached out to other agents in recent weeks, according to a source. He spoke with Kennard McGuire, CAA agents Tom Condon and Ben Dogra, and two of Fitzgerald's agents, Eugene Parker and Paul Lawrence.

Under NFLPA rules, a player must wait five days after firing his agent before hiring a new one.

"I still believe Anquan will be traded before training camp," Rosenhaus said May 8 through his Twitter account. "I hope to work together with the Cardinals to resolve this situation by then."

On May 18, Rosenhaus disputed reports that Boldin was seeking $10 million per season, the same amount teammate Larry Fitzgerald commanded as part of his current four-year deal.

"We recently made a proposal to the Cards for less," Rosenhaus said via Twitter.

Mike Sando covers the NFC West for ESPN.com.

Oh thank god, and if Darnell Docket is smart, he will get rid of him also. Maybe a little less drama.
