Kleinsasser Retiring at season end.
Sad but true, Jimmy is leaving the team at the end of the season. What more can you say about a guy like this? Classy, determined, professional, team player, dependable.......anyone want to add some more?
Kleinsasser for a long time was either the unstoppable force or the immovable object, I will let you people decide on which one. For me he was a favorite to watch as the man did anything the team asked of him, tolerated insane coaching staffs, and put up with ego's galore from some less than savory teammates over the years. The man was here for the highs and the lows and he never complained about it, instead he just went out and did his job on the field.
Off the field he represented the Vikings in a way that few professional athletes seem to do, if you had to make a list of the top 10 all around good people on the Vikings roster in the last 20 years I think people would be hard pressed to exclude him from that list.
Best Wishes to you in your retirement Jimmy, thanks for the memories and the pounding the rock , smash mouth style of play that you put on the field every day!!!!
Chris Cook....the next Pacman Jones?
Here we go again folks,
Chris Cook was arrested again, but at least this time it was for a different offense. It seems that he has moved on from alcohol and now took on domestic assault. This time will have a direct impact on the Vikings as Cook is being held without bail and will have to appear before a judge on Monday, meaning he will be locked up for the game against Green Bay.
Like Pacman Jones, Cook has either been injured or in trouble with the law since the team drafted him. The Vikings now have to make the decision if they are going to treat him the same way that Jones was treated, are they going to give him second, third, and 9th chances. Cook's actions also bring another element to the fold as the Green Bay game may not be the only one he will miss, he is now subject to suspension for being a repeat offender of the NFL personal conduct policy.
The Vikings ship is sinking faster than a brick in a bathtub, the Vikings have become the court jester of the NFL and Cook and others on the team are just more than happy to keep contributing to that label.
