Randolph + 20lbs + 1" = Most improved player
Reading ESPN rumors this morning. I thought this to be a very interesting bit of information.
"Unrelated but undeniably intriguing Warriors tidbit: Slender rookie Anthony Randolph, also known as the closest thing to an untouchable on the Warriors' payroll, has gained 20 pounds and grown an inch to nearly 7 feet since the end of this past season."
How awesome is that? And he still is like 19/20 years old. AR is going to grow even more for the next couple of seasons. Randolph really could turn out to be just a beast of a player. Prolly won't be a KG, but, a similiar version perhaps, especially if he works on his shot inside/out.
My Starting 5: (which leaves us thin as far as side off the bench)
Monta, Jackson, Randolph, Wright, Biedrins (gives us more size than we usually have, plus talk about a pain in the ass to keep them off the offensive glass...thats a lot of length and ability)
Bench:
Watson, Crawford, Maggette, Turiaf, (draft AZ rookie), Buke, Marco, Morrow....
Really could use trading some of these wing players for a little more size. At this point it doesn't really matter who. All these guys are like practically the same, Bellinilli, Morrow, Bukie, Crawford, just a bunch of shooters that play no defense. We are knee deep in swing players and have 0 size. Unfortuneatly not many teams out there want to take on the contracts of Crawford or Maggette, but I think both can be great role players off the bench, limit their roles and let them go out there when Monta and Stax Jax are off the court and have them score.
