Scheffler's tingling sensation
Just saw this post up on Deadspin about the hit Scheffler took from Urlacher told through Nake Jackson who is writing about life after football.
Nate basically goes on to talk about the events leading up to the game, a cab driver from the Millen-era, the atmosphere at the game, and events that happened after the Scheffler hit.
We head downstairs to the friends and family section to find Tony. But he's not there. He's in an ambulance on his way to Henry Ford Hospital. He had some tingling down the right side of his body, and he vomited several times. I ride there with his wife and mother-in-law, find him on a gurney, neck harnessed, flipping us off as we walk in. Sorry, he says. Sorry about this. Sorry, he keeps saying. I'm sorry, you guys.
I was stunned to know that it was that vicious, I don't want to say it looked like an innocent hit, he was flagged for it and Tony got up and walked off the field. After reading this though the chances of tony playing this Sunday sound pretty slim.
I am trying to take off my Honalulu Blue glasses and keep my pitchfork away but this upsets me. When is the league going to do something about this? .. is it because it's Urlacher that gave out the hit?? Or the guy on the other end was Tony Scheffler?? I know they have made steps to stop hits to the head but... this sucks.
Ooh well I am sure Eric Wright and Nate Burleson agree with their fines.
Calvin Johnson on the 97.1 The Ticket
I just wanted to share this with everyone, I know not everyone is in the Metro Detroit area can listen to the ticket or gets a chance to. The Valenti and Foster show interviewed Calvin today. I am glad someone stepped up and asked many of the questions we have been debating on this site (not me personally, I usually don't debate just insert smart ass/ sarcastic responses)... however the many pauses, awkward laughs and stutters from Calvin are making me feel uneasy about him and the Lion's season.
Maybe that's just who Calvin is, I can't say.. sometimes people who seem laid back just seem disinterested.
Maybe it's just we are 0-3 and with the Packers coming up I am looking for something to hope for. I honestly don't know how to feel about this but I thought it would be interesting to get others opinions... then again maybe I am just adding more fuel to a fire that is getting put out slowly on POD.
Take a listen and judge for yourself...

SUH Fined $7,500- NO SUSPENSION
SUH received his punishment for destroying Jake "daylight come and me want to go" Delhomme in the Cleveland Game, luckily it was only $7,500. Thankful it wasn't anything more and no suspensions were issued. Now he can focus on destroying Cutler. Hopefully he learned from this and we as a group can move on...I haven't read any Kevin Smith articles lately.
Just hope refs don't take notice of this and opposing coaches don't try and cry wolf.- Looking at Belichick

Lions might have CHEERLEADERS at games.. kinda?!?
Just heard on the ticket that The Detroit Pride (Sean we may have infringment rights issues, but thats another topic) will be performing at the Ellewood before games at will be performing from their seats, they have no connection with the Detroit Lions themselves. Not sure how well this will go over, or even if they will have good seats. However this just made the nose bleeds that much more exciting.
What do you guys think? Do we want cheerleaders at the games?
Finishing Touches put on Tiger Stadium.
Just like a death in real life, everybody knew this day was going to come, but no that its here its almost to surreal. It almost feels approriate to say "If we could all bow our head and take a moment to reflect on this day."
