Which of are rookies is being hurt the most from the lockout.
I hate this damn lockout biz and cant wait for it to be over with, hopefully today. Not only are we suffering through the lockout but we have 5 rookies who are doing the same.
Who will be the 4th reciever
I think its safe to assume that Calvin, Nate and Titus will have the top three spots on lock, but who steps there game up and claims rights to the 4th spot.
The hands department is not lacking in the City of Detroit. With the likes of Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson, Titus Young, Brandon Pettigrew and Tony Scheffler. These are the options Detroit has on the roster Derrick Williams, Tim Toone, Michael Moore, Roy Hall, Stefan Logan and Bryant Johnson.
I think its safe to say Bryant is done in Detroit and Logan really not a recieving threat so outta DW, Toone, Moore and Hall i have to say Williams holds the upper hand but could get some competion from Moore and Toone. I think a UDFA could be brought in as well there is a couple of good oones out there.
Lions on the Clock (results) Updated Smith vs. Jones
Well PoD has voted and their are some changes. Ayers taking the biggest fall and with Jones taking the biggest leap foward but will it be enough to hold off Harris, J Smith, A Smith and T Smith after the jump...

Detroit on the Clock
We all have different wants and opinions on why the Lions should take this kid or that kid. Were at just a little over a week until the draft and all of the unknown will be known.
Dareus vs. Green

Mock Draft for the Lions
I will do several mocks around what i feel are the biggest needs for the Detroit Lions which would be CB, LB, OL, WR and RB and not in that order.
Trade Bait
Which of those tendered could Detroit be using as bait
A.J. Hawk or Stephen Tulloch
Headed to Detroit... or will Schwartz and Mayhew go in a different direction.
Mock Draft w/ FA...
Well its getting closer, soon the draft will be here and everyone will be holding there breathe as Detroit goes on the clock at 13. The best part about this year's draft is there is no clear cut favorite. I think the combine will make it even more intresting, seeing that player we really want rise or fall on the board. Then waiting to see if Detroit invites your guy to Allen Park for a private workout before the draft, god the suspense and drama is killing me. Here's my new mock now that we only have 5 picks in this years draft, i will also be looking at some free agents i would like to see in Motown.
Defensive Line Breakdown...
Unlike the Oline the Dline is stacked with talent from the starting four all the way down to the depth, even the PS has potential now thats frightening. Here are the players we will be looking at KVB, SLH, Turk, Cliff, Lo Jack, C.Wil and yours truely King Kong...

Offensive Line Breakdown...
I really can't say if Detroit will be going OL in the first, I think that they will enter the draft with an open mind and take the BPA. Since an upgrade is needed along the Oline i thought i would look at what we got... at the Tackles we got Backus, Cherilus, Fox, Hilliard and Ugoh, at Center we got Raiola and Gandy and at the guards we got Sims and Peterman. Lets take a look at each individual.

Your Choice (Mock)
There are some Ayers fans, some Harris fans, Solder fans, Jones fans, Ingram fans and etc... I want to put some names out there and let PoD vote on the 13th pick and i will go right down the line 44, 75 and all the way until the last pick.

Detroit Lions Team Breakdown, Mock Draft and FA.
I have seen more than my share of mock drafts this year so i thought i'd do my own. At this point it is uncertain were these players will actually fall in the draft so from my point of view here's my mock. I will also look at some FA that may or may not be in Detroit this season...

AP 2010 NFL Defensive Player of the Year... No Love for Suh.
Troy Polamalu was named AP Defensive Player over Clay Matthews also recieving votes were Julius Peppers (6), Brian Urlacher (4), Ed Reed (1) and Haloti Ngata (1). Two players receiving no votes were James Harrison and Cameron Wake, yup thats right Ndamukong Suh wasn't even on the list.
Detroit Lions 2011 Pt. 6, CB/S
Back to the defense, this will be the last post for the Detroit Lions 2011 then i will give it a day and tally up the votes and let you know who was the fan favorite, so if you havent voted do that soon.
Jeff Backus Looked Over Again...
CBS Sports has Donald Penn to the Pro Bowl over Jeff Backus.
Detroit Lions 2011 Pt. 5 OL
Back to the offense, to be or not to be is the question. Should Detroit hang on to Dominic Raiola and Stephen Peterman or just release them and get it over with already.
Detroit Lions 2011 Pt. 4 DL
Back to defense, there has been some talk around POD on Albert Haynesworth some good some bad.
Detroit Lions 2011 Pt. 3, WR.
My last post was on Linebacker's, this one we will go back to offense and look at WR's.
Detroit Lions 2011 Pt. 2, LB.
In my first posting i listed free agents rather they will be RFA or UFA is unknown as of now, i also did a poll on FA runningback's that you would like to see in the D. Today we will look at linebacker's.
2011 Draft (POLL)
Detroit holds the 13th overall pick in this year's draft, I like to think that we have some influence on who the Lions may select, but doubtful. Most mocks have us taking either a CB, LB or DE. Here are a few names Harris, Ayers, Clayborn and Quinn that i have seen linked to Detroit. Below is a poll feel free to vote and explain your vote. Here's to another Draft, one that seems to be more complex than previous years. (Lofa Tatupu)
Detroit Lions (OFFSEASON)
What really makes sense in the 2011 draft, should the Lions reach with the 13th pick for Akeem Ayers or Brandon Harris... How important is it to resign Chris Houston and Cliff Avril... Who are some of the key Free Agents Detroit needs to bring in on Defense: Chad Greenway, David Harris, Barrett Rudd, Paul Posluszny, Jonathan Joseph, Quintin Mikell or Eric Weddle. On Offense: Logan Mankins, Gavin Joseph, Jonathan Goodwin, Lance Moore, Steve Breaston, Le'Ron McClain or Vonta Leach.

Lucky 13 (Who is your pick)
The 2011 Draft is over 5 months away but still we are engaged in heavy discussion on who the Lions will take.
Jake Grove
Drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2004 in the 2nd round out of Virgina Tech. The 6-4 300lbs+ lineman was then signed by the Miami Dolphins last year to a 5 year contract but then released 9-9-10.
Open Thread (53 Man Roster)
This thread is for player's released that us here at POD would like Detroit to take a look at.
MVP and PVM in 2010
Tomorrow is the last preseason game and then everything starts to count. I don't know about you but i am sick and tired of hearing about Kevin Smith and Jason Hanson so i thought why not write a post about MVP and PVM. I am pretty sure we all know the meaning of MVP but what the hell is PVM.
My Trade Talk
The Chicago Bears are in the market for a backup quarterback. The Detroit Lions are very thin at linebacker and cornerback.
