Happy Texas Independence Day!
This is what I post every year on this amazing day....
It was March 2, 1836 that independence was declared from the cruel Spanish dictator Santa Anna and Mexico. The Texas Declaration of Independence was produced, literally, overnight. Its urgency was paramount, because while it was being prepared, the Alamo was under siege by Santa Anna's Mexican army.

The Tunnel: TX vs ou
I've posted this before and I felt it was necessary to share with everybody again. It's from my friend's dad who was good friends with the football player who wrote this. Enjoy and just remember, ou sucks!

All my Sooner Fans Video.....so classic!
How could we even forget this beautiful video?.....
This was done a year or 2 ago by an Oklahoma radio station and they to remove the video from youtube, but somebody posted it again. Well, the video sums it up....ou sucks. I figured I would share with everybody since this video is classic. Fan Shots just don't do it justice, so I posted it in the Fan Posts.
Texas Exes hosting Gary P. Nunn at County Line
Hey guys and girls, I wanted to give everybody an update on an event the Montgomery County Texas Exes have been planning for a few months......
We're going to be having Gary P. Nunn play at County Line on Lake Conroe Sunday, May 1st from 3-7 pm.
The TX-OU Tunnel
This is my favorite weekend of the year and this is always a great read on the Friday morning before the Red River Shootout. This is from TornJock over at HornsFans, a friend of my buddy's dad and a former UT player, obviously. Enjoy and Hook'em Horns!
This is my recollection of how things were back before the 1974 game, my last against the Sooners.
It's hard to believe that 35 seasons have passed since that day, but the images, sensory, olfactory, and visual, are as clear in my mind today as they were back then.
I just hope the outcome of this year's game is more favorable than it was in '74.
That was a heartbreaker...

The Tunnel...Texas/ou
When you're given the final word by the TV guy to leave the locker room and head down the short flight of steps to the top of the tunnel, you step out into a surreal, confusing world of childish taunts and many an inverted "Hook Em" being hurled from the walkway above ... stadium security personnel in cheap windbreakers and several members of the Dallas P.D. man the long tarp-covered gate behind you ... you recognize a couple of the motorcycle cops that led the police escort through the streets of Dallas a couple of hours ago; an officer smiles as he gives you a quick salute and a "Hook Em." You return the salute and mouth a quick, "Thank you" to the officer.
We're told by the TV guy to wait at the top of the ramp ... there's no breeze ... it's hot ...

College Football Realignment/Playoff Scenario
I'm still struggling to get over the last game of the baseball season, but my buddy was discussing with me a system he had come up with for a college football playoff, which would obviously happen if a true armageddon of realignment actually does happen in college football.
It's kinda long, but here it is anyway. I like the fact he gave births to some of the smaller conferences and kinda left some wild cards out there too. Just a disclaimer, he has no allegiance to any college football team. He went to U of H and likes the Big XII and Texas teams. Let me know what y'all think. Just something to think about and debate....
Check out how sick the Big East/ACC would be in basketball.
Glasgow to the Pac-10?
Well, as we all know, it's been a crazy week in regards to conference realignment. This might be the biggest shakeup of all when it was reported by TMZ that the Glasgow Diamonds are considering the Pac-10 after their first initial offer came from the Big Ten.
Apparently, the SEC is making a strong push near the end for this prized recruit....as they will turn any conference into a power conference.

Tips for Omaha
My friend and I are trying to make it up to Omaha for the College World Series and I need some help.
The reserved tickets are sold out, but you can buy general admission, but that doesn't guarantee an actual seat apparently.
Neither one of us are familiar with Omaha or Rosenblatt, but we both have talked about it for several years and are going to try and finally make it happen.
Anybody have any suggestions? I'd love to go and we're just trying to figure out the logistics right now. Thanks for any help.
Sorry I made this a fanpost, but was having issues with the fanshot and url's. Thanks again for any help.
Happy Texas Independence Day!
This was the same thing I posted a year ago, but I had to copy and paste and change a thing or two....

What's wrong with "t-shirt fans"?
Over the last few years, as UT's dominance in football all sports has grown exponentially, so has our popularity and thus an increase in sales of all merchandise that is burnt orange. With the increase in popularity and legitimacy of all our sports, specifically football, it appears there are more UT fans than ever. This really seems to irritate many fans of other schools, such as atm(no not the cash machine, but the university) and I even heard a Tech fan say, "after the loss at the national championship, all the t-shirt fans can jump off the bandwagon." And he had more...

This is a post from tornjock from hornfans and I love this story. My friend's dad always sends it to him and me before the game. I figured I'd share, but want to make sure and give credit to this former player for such a finely written piece. It's obvious he's a Longhorn. HOOK EM!

Texas-UNC tickets are now on sale
As we all know, Texas is playing North Carolina on Dec. 19th at the new Texas Stadium in Arlington. My buddy has season tickets for the Cowboys and so he went ahead and bought me some tickets a few minutes ago.
However, I don't think you need to be a season ticket holder to purchase tickets, b/c I just received an email about the tickets. I paid $50 per ticket and was in the 2nd section a little off half court. The lower section was $75 and the upper section was $30. Keep in mind how big the stadium is before buying $30 tickets as you will be pretty far away from the court.
Anyway, I just wanted to remind everybody. We talked about it some last year in basketball threads, but this is shaping up to be one of the biggest college games of the year, not to mention the venue. Best of luck to anybody trying to get a ticket and hook em!
Baseball Game Open Thread
Thanks to SneezyBeltran for the open thread tonight. /lazy -HB
Chance Ruffin had an easy 1-2-3 first inning and threw about 10 pitches. He's lookin' good and so are the bats.
Horns are up 2-0 in the top of the 2nd as Kevin Keyes just dropped a 2-run bomb to score Preston Clark, who had doubled and obviously himself.
Connor Rowe also just got a single. Let's blow it wide open Horns. HOOK EM!

TX/OU Ghostland tickets
Since I was introduced to Ghostland Observatory via some fellow Longhorns on this site, I just wanted to give everybody a head's up on tickets for the show Oct. 11. It is at the House of Blues in Dallas the night of the Red River Shootout and all floor seats are already gone. I got a couple of balcony seats, but was unable to buy more than 2. Get your tix quick if you want to watch a good show after a beatdown of ou....
