Fulltime college student/server. Ever come into Southern California go ahead and give me a shout. I work at BJs Restaraunt and Brewhouse- a great place to go watch the game on sunday. I love my Kansas City Chiefs, even if I'm out in Chargerville. I try to make it out to SD every year to see the Chiefs take them on, and hopefully next season I'll be lucky enough to head out to Arrowhead. All for now.

Absolutely love this draft
Definitely starting to go with the fundamental methods of building the trenches up before anything else. I know there are a lot of upset Chiefs fans out there tonight, but honestly, you have to look at the big picture. Not only are we adding depth and potential starters to our offensive line, we're adding beef. Remember how we lost to the Raiders last year? Undersized lineman. Another thing to consider: how this affects quarterback play. Yes, Matt Cassel is better when he has time to sit in the pocket and go through his progressions (even if they do take 7+ seconds). However, next season, should we draft a rookie, he will instantly come in and can fight for a starting job behind a fundamentally sound offense. A stacked group of receivers and runningbacks, a good safety net in our tight ends, and one of the best offensive lines in the league. Take a look at the big picture before you jump down Pioli's throat.
I could be wrong but I highly doubt we tried trading Bowe last night
As far as I know he hasn't signed his franchise tender, and isn't able to be traded until doing so. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken...
Per league sources, Patriots have inquired with Seattle about what it would take to get to 12. Could be just info gathering. Could be more.
I understand trading with someone in the NFC over AFC but being friends with each other I think I'd be kinda upset if we didn't pull off a trade with them....
It's officially draft day...Who you got?
For me, it's either trade back or BPA. Likely trading partners would be the Patriots or the Cowboys, though I don't exactly seeing Bill Belicheck giving up his two firsts and probably an additional pick for ours. I've become pretty set on either DeCastro, Barron, or Tannehill.
Tolbert leaving KC without contract =(
Adam Teicher
@adamteicher
Plenty of ???s on this, too: Tolbert was to leave KC w/o contract from #Chiefs. At least no contract as of now
Have some faith in KCs journalists.
Adam Teicher
#Chiefs were beginning their visit with Winston tonight so probably no news on a signing (or no signing) tonight
With how secretive our team has been over the last few seasons
I really don't count us out of it until Manning has signed with another team. Thinking about it, we supposedly had Jack Del Rio in for an interview, Le'Ron McClain was linked to us for weeks before actually getting signed, Vrabel was traded a whole day before we knew anything about Cassel, etc. This regime is built on secrecy and silence. The national media not picking up on this might end up being our saving grace.

On Total Access ... Our own @HeathEvans said he got a text from Moss earlier, with Moss saying he could run a 4.35-4.38 40 right now.I wouldn't believe this about most NFL players at 35 years old, but I don't doubt Moss at all. Not sayin, but just sayin.

Has anyone actually looked at Jamaal Charles' stats?
Me and a Raider fan got into a rather heated debate so I pulled these stats out on him: Jamaal Charles: 499 attempts, 3,027 yards, 6.1 average, 12 TDs Darren McFadden: 553 attempts, 2,627 yards, 4.8 average, 16 TDs Rather impressive for a guy that splits carries and is one of the most underrated backs in the league.
"Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Chiefs hired former Dolphins assistant Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator."Over Al Saunders? Really? Not a fan. At all.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Mike Tomlin has been making calls gathering info on Todd Haley. Could emerge as OC candidate with Steelers #insideslant
And so it begins...
I haven't missed a Chiefs game in a few years. Without fail every single sunday I'm watching the game somewhere. I've been to every Chiefs/Charger game in San Diego for the past 5 years, and I even made the trip to Arrowhead a few weeks back for the Steelers game.
Sadly, every game I've ever witnessed the Chiefs play in person, we've lost. Ironically enough, the most entertaining and competitive were the ones led by lifetime backup quarterbacks in Tyler Thigpen and Tyler Palko. Even stranger, they share the same first name....
Year in year I out I spend money on my football team because I love them. It gives me something to cheer for, something that I can relate to with other people, something that can make for pretty good conversation in most of the country. Sadly, I've grown so use to losing that it isn't even really uncommon for me to feel emotions anymore.
Finally made it to Kansas City
Got into town this morning, and Jesus Christ, it's extremely cold here. I left Cali at 81 degrees! First stop was a Kmart near my hotel, h/t to the reader who gave me the heads up. Found an awesome leather jacket that I'll be wearing tomorrow for only 40 bucks. I'm in section 320 tomorrow night if there are any other APers near, my first trip to Arrowhead and money was kinda tight so no great seats, but I'm excited either way. One last thing, after walking around downtown KC all day/night, there are A LOT of Pittsburgh fans out here. Talk about a travelling fanbase...
Chiefs gear in KC
Apart from the actual Chiefs shop at Arrowhead, are there any good local shops to pick up some gear? I was going to stop at Walmart and Target, last time I was here they had quite a bit of Royals gear, and I figure that now it's football season so there's bound to be some Chiefs stuff right? Thanks.
What jersey are you rockin tonight?
I mean I'm all the way in SoCal but I know damn well Arrowhead is going to hear me. I'm trying to decide between Berry, Charles, Cassel, Bowe or Flowers.
Tips on female Chiefs gear
Hey guys, going to my first Chiefs game @ Arrowhead next month against the Steelers. Riding shotgun with me is my girlfriend, who was raised in a household of Raider fans (don't worry, I thoroughly washed her first). The good news is that she doesn't have any Raider clothing. Bad news is, she doesn't have any Chiefs clothing either. I'm looking for cheap jerseys, shirts, jackets, hairclips, etc. Anything that will piss her Raider family off, and make me proud at the same time. Please help me out, thanks.
"Minor setback for a major comeback"
Quite possibly one of the best lines I've ever heard from a football player. So simple, yet so powerful. If you didn't already know, this comes from our own Eric Berry, right after he was diagnosed with a torn ACL. I firmly believe that this line was not only meant for him, but for the whole season in general.
If you're reading this fanpost I'm going to assume that you are a rabid Chief fan like myself. When you heard about Moeaki, a piece of your heart broke. When you heard about Eric Berry, your heart cracked in two. When you heard about Jamaal Charles, your heart shattered altogether. Yeah, we know, it's going to be a long season.
Alas, this isn't a fanpost about the play of our team, or how we're going to overcome adversity to win games this season. No, this fanpost is for all of the "fans" that are rooting for our team to fail miserably just so that we can acquire the number one pick. Follow me after the jump to see what I'm talking about...

I'm in Oakland until the 24th for business
Luckily I managed to get Sundays off. Just got done getting my jersey all pretty for tomorrow. Gotta be up 2 hours before gametime (8 AM for us here in Cali) to drive to the nearest BJs for my free food and front row seat for the game. Don't care if I'm in my living room or in the heart of Oakland, I'll be rockin my EB29 jersey all day long! It's finally here!
Faceoff Edition 1: Dwayne Bowe vs. Vincent Jackson
Being Chiefs fans, we all know how it is not to get any real national exposure. We see our players snubbed from top x lists all the time, snubbed from probowls, snubbed from the All-Pro lists. In this post, I'm going to compare one of our players to another player that the media or casual football fan deems "better". Here we go...
A few weeks ago I was serving one of my tables at work. The guy had a Chargers tattoo on his arm, which isn't uncommon here in Southern Cali. We got to talking and it turns out this guy was a pretty big San Diego fan, who was for the most part pretty knowledgeable about his team. One thing he said though really pissed me off, and I just couldn't let it go, even weeks later: "Listen man, I don't care if he caught 15 touchdowns last season, Bowe is not better than Jackson!" This inspired me to take a look into each of these players careers and determine statistically who was better.
I know a lot of people outside of KC don't know much about Bowe. They don't care about his first two seasons and how he broke 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. And why should they? We won only four, and two games respectively in his first two years. He wasn't relevant because our team wasn't relevant. In 2009 he started out in Todd Haley's doghouse when he showed up to training camp out of shape. Later in the year he was suspended four games for using a diuretic, and had only 600 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. 2010 however, the Chiefs offense finally began functioning and Bowe had his breakout year, catching 72 passes for 1,162 yards (career high), and 15 touchdowns (career high/league leading).
So far in his career, Dwayne Bowe has caught 275 passes for 3,768 yards and 31 touchdowns. How does Vincent Jackson match up? Follow me after the jump.

So...Who bought Madden?
Got my copy at midnight last night and I'm having mixed opinions. I think it's a fantastic game. I think they made Cassel terrible in this game. I can't complete a pass to save my life with him. JC is awesome of course, and Berry has had numerous picks in every game I've played so far. In my franchise, Cassel and Dex are out 6 weeks with broken jaws, and McClain and Tyson Chicken are out for the season with torn ACLs. Anyone have it on 360, add me: TheMassacreXXX2
Checking in with the NFC South...I made it out to Saints Training Camp yesterday
A lot of you know that I'm from SoCal (hence the name...), and when I get a chance to take a look at other teams in the area I jump at it. This is my third training camp after the Chargers and Cowboys. The Saints play Oakland this week in preseason, and for some reason they decided to hold part of their training camp in Oxnard, the same place where the Cowboys usually practice.
I know this isn't Chiefs related but I thought some of you might enjoy the read either way, so without further adieu...

Going to the Saints training camp tomorrow
Anyone want me to pay attention to anything in particular? I know we don't play them until next season, but a good friend of mine is a fan of theirs and he needs someone to go. It's football, and we're all the way out here in SoCal with not many options!
How do you create a Chiefs fan? Specifically, a female...
Is it in your blood? Were you raised in Chiefs diapers? Or did you pick them to spite your dad, who's a Bronco fan? Maybe you just randomly picked a team. Whatever the reason is, you're still a Chiefs fan.
Myself? I was born in England, and when my parents moved to California when I was a baby, they didn't care about football. They didn't eat, breath, or even think about it. I remember watching Superbowl 34 with my dad at my neighbors house. We had put money into a pool, but had no idea what was going on. I was only 9 at the time. I remember asking him, dad why do they get 3 points when they kick it through the two sticks, but only 1 at other times? And my dad sat there as baffled as I was.
When I was 12, my best friend had bought Madden. I still didn't know anything about football, except that I liked to run the ball when I played with him. He always told me to just push up on the joystick and when I got near the touchdown line to press square to dive. Eventually I persuaded my parents to buy me a used copy of Madden, and that's when I discovered Priest Holmes.
Raiders and 49ers fight....I'd imagine on the whole both franchises are pretty disgusted by this display of immaturity.
If you can't find anywhere else to watch your Chiefs play...
Hey guys, I know I've said it before, but I work at BJs Brewhouse. Some of you might be familiar with it, over the last few years it's really been blowing up. There aren't any locations in KC, but we're opening more restaurants up each year in California, Texas, Florida, and other places.
At my location we open at 10 AM on Saturdays and Sundays for brunch, just in time for football. There's loads of TVs everywhere and as long as you get there around 10ish (Cali time), you can get the Chiefs on any of the TVs. Just giving everyone a heads up, I spend most of my sunday mornings here and then just stick around for my shift at work tonight.
I got 89 problems but a diva aint one
2011 NFl Draft- pick 26 Kansas City Chiefs- jon Baldwin (via thingsilikeontv)
This is the moment where the Chiefs shocked their fan base and took the one guy that most of AP was completely against. Very rarely did we see a mock draft fly in a positive fashion when we had Baldwin pegged with our number one draft pick. Phil Taylor, Akeem Ayers, and the numerous tackles were all popular picks.
We here at AP crucified the mock drafts that had us taking Baldwin because he wasn't part of "the right 53". We stressed how important Scott Pioli, our savior, our mob boss, our executive of the year winner, valued honesty, integrity, and loyalty over talent and wasted charisma.
So when Mr. Johnathan Baldwin was drafted in the first round by the Kansas City Chiefs, there was a brief pause filled with shock. We all knew that the second wide receiver position was wide open. Most of us didn't envision going reciever in the first round though, especially one that had the term "diva" written all over him.

Ron Edwards injury will likely end his season. He will likely go on IR.
Just bought my tickets for Pittsburgh @ Kansas City!
So stoked. I'm in section 320, row 27. I'm guessing it's not the greatest section to be in, but honestly I'm just excited to go to Kansas City for a Sunday night game against one of the AFC Powerhouses. Can anyone give me some pointers on being that high up? Will I need binoculars? Are there going to be other people around me? Also, how cold is it in November? Last year at the Chiefs/Charger game in SD I had to change because it was so hot, and that was in December. Thanks for the help guys, so happy to be part of Chiefsnation.
