Hey anyone here catching up on the Raising the Cup specials on NHL Network? The Wings have their time to shine twice next week back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday showing the Game 4's against Philly and Washington. There's also the 1995 one against the Devils though I'm not sure how many can bare watching them get swept again in the finals even after all these years. There's also 2002 appearing the week after that on another Wednesday against Carolina and than 2008 on yet another wednesday (I guess Wednesdays in August has become Red Wings Cup days).

P.S. On an interesting note, the day they show 1998 cup win against the Caps and the Stars winning the Cup the next day should be around the time Modano starts skating to see if he's willing to still plat. Coincidence?

While at the Tigers Game, Big Mo confirmed that he will sign with Detroit or go no where. That's right, no matter what if Modano plans to continue to play he will be wearing the Winged Wheel by Next Fall.

Bonus points maybe for the fact the Tigers won off a 11-inning game via a Home Run

Second City Hockey Congrats from a Wings fan

Hey. I know that Chicago fans tend to have some hate on Wings players and fans. But I hope this Cup win for you guys will give you guys something I probably should have also for your Cup Run: Respect.

Alot of Detroit fans are already preparing for massive trolling and gloating from fans that don't know what to do besides ripping on a rival instead of just celebrating with their friends. What I'd like to see is some class played by your team fans to prove that your not the arrogant, cocky, bandwagoners everyone accuses you of.

Give some respect to Nashville, who nearly scared you guys when they made it 1-1 and 2-1 in their favor in the opening round only to bow to you in 6.

Give some respect to Vancouver, you guys had much more control in that series. And you denied the Team Canada Gold Medalist Goalie again to make it once again to the Western Conference Finals

Give some respect to San Jose, Yes you swept them but either game could of gone either way because they were one goal games and one went into Overtime.

Give some respect to Philadelphia, Many games in this series could of also gone either way and it was a high-scoring entertaining affair and ended with you guys winning the cup one what I thought was the weirdest way to start celebrating.

And lastly, give some respect to Detroit too if you can, we had a great reg. season series. I'm sure many of you would of rather beat Detroit to get to the Finals and win the Cup to truly prove something. i'm hoping that since you guys got a cup you can cut down less on the Detroit Sucks chants, we should be for another entertaining season series next year.

I'd also like to make some similarities between your 2010 Hawks and my 1997 Wings. They both ended a long drought obviously. Both with a classy captain (Both with the number being 19 is a bonus). Both won it by beating Philly. Byfuglien I've always called a younger Holmstrom. Both also won the cup after previously having lost in the Western Conference Finals. Both had Scotty Bowman have something to do with the team. Both had great depth in scoring and if there's more It's probably enough that I end here.

Overall, Congrats Hawks fans. Cheers to an Original Six team winning the cup and next year will surely be a much more competitive Central Division battle.

Winging It In Motown Conference Finals: Showdown of the Curses?

Well we have our Fab Four teams left in the Playoffs. And it very well seems that the History Will Be Made commercials will be right considering the teams are either looking for their first Stanley Cup (Sharks), or their first in a long while (Habs, Blackhawks, and Flyers). There are several curses on such that people blame after they haven't been in a Stanley Cup final at all or in a long time. This is now the year where someone will overcome that. I will go in order from Seeds (Though in retrospect, it's West then East)

Winging It In Motown Thoughts on Offseason

As we all know by the now, the Red Wings season is over. And it is now time either to go on other teams you like and/or start the offseason discussion. And while I haven't really talked much I've been lurking more then talking. I'm just going to get my feelings on how some of the offseason will go and some of the players if they should be out or not. I will go by number order and sections starting with Forwards after the Jump.

Fear The Fin Congratulations

Hi there Sharks fans, just hear to congratulate your team as a Wings fan here. I know that many Wings fan hated the many questionable calls but your team was ultimately the better team because you capitalized on all the player's mistakes. You broke Detroit's chances as soon as you got that OT goal in Overtime and especially when you chewed up the 3-1 lead in the same game. I wish you the best of luck against Chicago in the WCF and maybe, just maybe if you meet Pittsburgh in the Finals then I wish you tenfold the luck against Chicago.

Also our teams pretty much were like a mirror weren't they? Both our coaches are straight from the Wings Organization and this series depended on who had the puck more often then not.
