Blog a Bull Pilgramage for Pippen

I'm extremely excited to hear Scottie Pippen is a finalist for the Hall of Fame this year. As a long time Bulls fan, Scottie Pippen was ALWAYS my favorite player. Did he benefit from Jordan? Yes and no, he did benefit from softer defenses due to Jordan's god-like abilities, but I can assure you Pippen was not the man that you rotated away from. Typically it was Horace Grant who benefited the most. Grant and Cartwright were the "weaker" offensive players so it usually meant that their defenders shifted to help out on Jordan. The reason I stated "no" was that in many ways I felt Scottie Pippen was held back some due to Jordan running the show. Granted he would not have 6 championships without Jordan but I think his career numbers would be much higher as a #1 featured player. Having a security blanket in Jordan kind of kept him as second fiddle and hence second option of the offense.

Eight straight All-NBA Defensive First Teams;Six Championships;

Either way you view it, I think we can all agree that Scottie Pippen is a talented player. I feel he is all but a lock to get selected into the Hall of Fame this year. As such, I have started to make my plans for my Pilgramage to see Pippen inducted in Springfield MA. Luckily, I live in NJ so it should only be about a 6 hour car ride. Are any other Bulls fans planning on being in attendance? Are you coming from IL?

[From the fanposts. I'll just commandeer this shamless attempt to pimp some unrelated website as the game preview since nobody signed up. I'll be at the UC tonight, probably tweeting. -ed.]

Blog a Bull Game Preview #40: Bulls at L.A. Clippers

[Oh, let's just commandeer this FanPost for today's game preview (Sign! Up!). Add Miller to Salmons and Hinrich in the sick tent. -ed.]

Bulls need to handle the Clippers Wednesday.

The Chicago Bulls road trip only gets harder after leaving the Clippers Wednesday. They play Phoenix, Houston, and San Antonio over the course of a 4 day weekend. That means they will want to steal a win in Los Angeles before heading into that stretch.

I feel the key to beating the Clippers will be limiting Kaman. Noah will need to step up his defense for this challenge, and something tells me he will. Another key will be perimeter defense. I want to see Hinrich pestering Davis all game.
