Dedicated Phins fans may remember him from the summer of 2009. The Phins needed a upgrade at Center from the likes of Samson Satele and the top 2 guys were Jason Brown and Jake Grove. Once again our franchise chose poorly. Any one else interested?

Yes people this here post is Superman free (sponsored by Lex Luthor).

Alot has gone well so far this season for the Magic. The team is winning despite the circus surrounding the organization and despite Otis Smith. #FireOtis!!!!

Of course not all is so peachy since this is a trade thread. This hastily written panic laden thread is based on the play of one Jameer Nelson. He has just been well... in a word... awful this year. I dont know if its his conditioning post lockout or his emotions but he is not getting it done this year.

I dont want him traded since I still think he's a good player and can play a key role for this team. Ideally I would like to use him as a no conscience scoring guard off the bench ala Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford, Lou Williams or Nate Robinson. This would work in his favor since his low assist numbers wont matter as much since he'll be the #1 option with the 2nd unit. Plus there is the added benefit of him going up against 2nd team PG's.

So whose the guy that's gonna replace Jameer as the starter?

I like Cleveland Cavaliers backup PG Ramon Sessions as the guy. Sessions has been a starting PG in this league before with decent results. The key stat I like about Ramon is his adjusted assists per game which is 10.6. Of which I think he could do even better on this team since he will have better shooters on this team than he's ever played with. He is a bit unpredictable from 3 point land but he makes up for that with playmaking (assists!!)

Right now he's backing up #1 overall pick Kyrie Erving averaging 21 MPG this year. He is scoring 9 ppg and dishing 4.8 apg. He is also only 25 years old. Four years younger than our existing PG. YOUTH!!!! So now its on to what I think it would take to land him. Sessions is making a tidy sum of 4.25 million this year a with a player option of 4.5 next year. This is a slight problem for the Magic. I see 2 feasible ways of going about this.

Option #1 Ramon Session (4.25) + Ryan Hollins (2.48) for Jason Richardson (5.4) + Daniel Orton (1.1) plus picks?

Option #2 Ramon Session (4.25) for Chris Duhon (3.5) + Earl Clark (1.2) plus picks?

How the Magic can sign Paul and DH (realistically-ish)

The Goal: Get the cap to around 40 million next year

Step 1:DO NOT RE-SIGN RICHARDSON! That needs to happen either way, He doesn't fit in SVG's system. That puts us roughly at 74 million for this season and 75 million for next.

Step 2: Package Jammer Nelson (good player/great contract) and Hedo (average player/ TERRIBLE contract) for a expiring contracts that total 18 million.

Yeah not easy. New York has Billups 14 million coming off the books. With a couple more throw in 1 year guys. They could be interested in Nelson. He is easily an upgrade over Billups this year and has the offense to thrive in that system. Hedo could be seen a key reserve for them as a backup to both Anthony and Amare. This makes the most sense to me.

Clippers have Kaman and Foye's contract totaling 16 million. They could have a slight interest. Something tells me they want the cap space though to try and lure in Deron or Dwight.

I doubt Cleveland goes for it since they will probably covet cap space but Jamison's 15 million is expiring and they should realize no high priced free agents are going to Cleveland. Nelson could be their star. And... yeah that's it. Those are our options in getting rid of Hedo. Fun huh!!!

Step 3: If Otis Smith somehow proves to not be a bumbling idiot and succeeds with Step 2 then we will be sitting at 57 million next year. Unless Gilbert gets mixed up with the Russian mob and "disappears" we are gonna have to amnesty him. 57-20 = 37 million!!!

Mission Accomplished! Then Dwight and Paul could sign here with contracts that resemble what LeBron and Wade did. Not quite MAX because they will need the space to fill out the rest of the roster with decent players

A quick snap cost the Browns a TD against Cincinatti. Now Cleveland CB's will not huddle. Its no surprise why this needs to be adopted by our defense. I expect every NFL team we face will use the no huddle against us until we can show we can stop it

DEPTH CHART: Kendall Langford, Randy Starks, Jared Odrick, Phillip Merling

Roster Moves: N/A

ANALYSIS: This is easily the strongest area of our team considering total depth and talent even after losing DE Tony McDaniel to FA. I was very impressed at how well Tony played last year in our D-line rotation unfortunately other teams scouts saw this as well. He is young enough to warrant a pretty hefty contract as a starting 3-4 DE and we have too much talent at the position to be affected by his departure. That said the pressure on Jared Odrick and Phillip Merling to STAY HEALTHY and perform is very real and we will need at least one of them to step up and play well in our rotation.

POSITION: NT

DEPTH CHART: Paul Soliai, Jamal Williams

Roster Moves: Sign Jamal Williams to a 1 year incentive laden contract, Sign Frank Kearse to the practice squad

ANALYSIS: So as I predicted the Randy Starks experiment at NT didn't last. Mike Nolan's defense would have been in serious trouble in Paul Soliai hadn't stepped up his game so dramatically in one year. The poison pill of this however is that Paul was in a contract year before he decided to put it all together. Motivation has always been the main factor when it comes to just how good Paul Soliai wants to be. Lets hope that his recent windfall won't affect his play. If it does we need some semblance of insurance and that is where the "Big Man" Jamal Williams comes into play. To me this is a no brainer FA signee. Nolan has worked with him before in Denver. He is a leader with a solid work ethic that is still productive on the field. Williams will be an ideal role model for both Soliai and Frank Kearse.

POSITION OLB:

DEPTH CHART: Cameron Wake, Mathias Kiwanuka, Koa Misi, Ugo Chiansa

ROSTER MOVES: Sign Kiwanuka to a 3 year deal, Sign UDFA Ugo Chiansa, Cut Ikaika Alama-Francis, Cut Quentin Moses, Sign UDFA Pierre Allen to the PS

ANALYSIS: Ladies and gentlemen we know have a LB corps rivaling the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mathias Kiwanuka "Kiwi" needs and should be our #1 priority free agent. As solid as Misi was as a rookie he left much to be desired in the pass rush department. Kiwi excels in both areas. In fact, he was poised for a beastly year posting 4 sacks in 3 games before being lost for the season to a neck injury last year. This in a way helps the Dolphins. No way the New York Giants would have even considered losing him to free agency if this injury hadn't occurred. Now, it not only makes him available but he may come at an even more affordable rate as teams attempt to low ball him. I am also quite sure than Kiwi will be able to transition to a 3-4 since he played some OLB in NY's 4-3 as a rookie. A sleeper prospect that I think the Phins need to jump on is UDFA DE/OLB Ugo Chiansa. He is a 6-5 255 player out of Oklahoma State that had 6 and a half sacks as a senior. In the link here gives a short bio on him. If he doesn't make the team then he needs to be assigned to the PS at least

ROSTER MOVES: Sign FA Kirk Morrison, Trade/Cut Channing Crowder, Cut Tim Dobbins, Cut Austin Spitler

ANALYSIS: Wait what? Something’s different…Did it just get much quieter in the locker room? Yes my dream scenario involves the forced departure of one loudmouth Channing Crowder. If you ask me its been a long time a comin. Despite his obvious distractive nature Channing Crowder’s contributions to this team are consistently overstated. The one thing that Crowder can do is clog a run lane. That’s it! That is the only thing he brings to the table. The minimum requirement for a Jack LB is to hit any lineman or rb’s in the hole as to keep the Will (Dansby) free of defenders. Just because Dobbins was SO BAD last year in this role is no outlier for how good Crowder is. He isn’t a playmaker by any means and tackle number are down right pathetic the past 2 years. In comparison, Kirk Morrison is just as stout against the run AND has the tackling and playmaking numbers to boot. Seriously people compare the numbers and the games played. [Crowder stats Morrison stats] Whatever Crowder is getting paid needs to go to a starting LB that can actually help this team in more than 1 area.

If you like Jack LB’s like Crowder then I give you a LB that fits that mold but is actually productive as well, Alex Wucjiak!

He is a big, high motor tackling machine out of Maryland. STATS He is definitely not the most athletic guy available but has made up for that with effort and film study. If you want to get a little more familiar with him yahoo sports did a nice article on him

POSITION: CB

DEPTH CHART: Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, Will Allen, Al Harris, Nolan Carroll

ANALYSIS: Not much change. We get Will Allen back and he slides over to nickel which s a role that he is well suited for. I don’t know why there hassn’t much talk about bringing CB Al Harris back to the Phins. From the small amount of playing time he received it looked like he played very well in that time. I personally don’t get the undue optimism when it comes to CB Nolan Carroll. The guy has done nothing as of yet except allow inferior corners to pass him up on the depth chart. He will have a hard time fending off Jimmy Wilson for that last CB spot.

POSITION SAFETY

DEPTH CHART: FS- Chris Clemons, Tyrone Culver, SS- Yeremiah Bell, Reshad Jones, Jonathan Amaya

ROSTER MOVES: Sign UDFA DeAndre McDaniel to the PS

ANALYSIS: Little change to this group as well. There is already a good mix of reliable veterans and young players with potential. I would like to see a lot more of Reshad Jones at SS during the regular season . It is well known that Yeremiah Bell struggles against the pass while Reshad Jones has shown an ability to play the pass quite well in college and in the pro’s.

Quick note on DeAndre McDaniel (Clemson) is that he has pretty major character concerns. Get this, he beat up his girlfriend. He’ll fit right in! That combining with a so so year lead him to go undrafted. As a junior, he grabbed 8 interceptions and he was thought to be a top 2 draft choice at safety. Yeah he shoulda left early LOL

POSITION: ST’s

DEPTH CHART: Kicker- Dan Carpenter Punter Brandon Fields

Now that the NFL labor negotiations are finally getting back on track I wanted to make a list of off-season moves that I think would benefit the Miami Dolphins. When things finally get settled there will no doubt be little time to sign free agents before the season begins. I tend to have a big picture outlook when it comes to the improvement of a team. I do not subscribe to the "WIN NOW" philosophy. I am desperately hoping that our teams future outlook will not be jeopardized by a coaching regime’s attempt to stave off termination with stop gap measures. So with that fine intro (pats self on back) I will get to my player moves

POSITION QB:

Depth Chart: Chad Henne, Tyler Thigpen
Roster Moves: assign Tom Brandstater to the Practice Squad
Sign: N/A I previously did want the Phins to sign Pat Devlin as a UDFA but after reading this article about his Pro day I say "no mas" Scroll down to Delaware

Analysis: As you can see no major changes were made. Some will say after a sub par season that Henne should not be given the reigns to this team that is most definitely not a 7-9 team talent wise. I am by no means a die hard Henne supporter but we do need to take into account the current NFL season. There just isn’t enough time to bring in a high priced free agent QB to learn the offense. This season is going to be a sink or swim scenario for Chad Henne. Either he proves that he has what it takes to be our starting QB or he leads this team to another dreadful season ushering in a new era of Dolphins football. Which of course could be lead by one of 3 very promising future NFL QB’s in Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley and Landry Jones.

POSITION RB:

Depth Chart: Daniel Thomas, Lex Hilliard, Noel Devine, Lousaka Polite
Roster Moves: Allow Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams to enter free agency
Sign: Noel Devine UDFA, sign Derrick Locke to the PS

Analysis: Yep everyone say goodbye to the RnR Express. If the pathetic rushing numbers didn’t convince you that a change needed to happen then just look at their age and cap numbers. The youth movement is on and damn it looks promising. Daniel Thomas looks to be exactly as advertised. A powerful 2 down back that will move the chains and most likely have a nice YPC average. A good pick IMO. Will this be the year that Lex Hilliard will finally be allowed to show what he can offer? I sure hope so. A GM will be hard pressed to find a RB as versatile as Lex. He is a strong runner between the tackles that hit’s the hole quickly with little wasted movement. He has shown to possess solid hands out of the backfield and an ability to play FB reasonably well. Now onto a sexy pick!! If you didn’t know lemme tell you Noel Devine is a game breaker! He did not run at the combine since he was nursing a minor injury but he did post a 40 yd dash of 4.26 and 4.38 seconds at his Pro Day. Those times would have ranked him either in 1st or 2nd place at the Combine depending on which time you take.I HIGHLY recommend you watch his HS football vid's on Youtube They are great watch. He will undoubtedly become a lethal 3rd down back and return man. How often will team‘s gameplan for a team‘s 3rd RB? That means opportunity for Noel Devine. Polite is on notice as of right now. He was downright AWFUL last year in pass pro and in run blocking. He can’t expect to make this team solely on his stellar short yardage conversion rate.

POSITION WR:

Depth Chart: Brandon Marshall, Devon Bess, Edmund Gates, Brian Hartline, Roberto Wallace
Roster Moves: Sadly cut Marlon Moore since I don’t think he will be eligible for the PS. Sign UDFA Tori Gurley to the PS and UDFA Dane Sanzenbacker.

Analysis: Pretty straightforward here. We have a very solid WR core with multiple WR’s that excel in specific roles. We solved our biggest problem area in drafting WR Ed Gates out of Abilene Christian. Now it just remains to be seen if Chad Henne can actually get the ball into his hands. One key positional battle in training camp will be between Brian Hartline, Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore. Some think that Hartline is a lock to make the team since he was a starter last year. I don’t think it will be that easy. He is coming off a season ending injury and will have to deal with 2 talented WR in their own right. Wallace has the measurable that you can’t find off the street and Marlon Moore is the definition of smooth. In the end I think Hartline makes it and Wallces edges out Marlon due to his solid ST’s play. We're gonna miss him

Luckily for us we have our choice between him and another talented RT in Tyson Clabo. Both are immediate upgrades over Carey. The edge goes to Yanda since he is only 26 years old. Which means he may not even have hit his peak. I like Incog’s at center and Jerry and Garner will fight it out at RG. I’d prefer it if Jerry beats him out so we can use Garner as a super sub. Jake Kikpatrick is a very talented center and I’m very surprised he went undrafted. He could be a sneaky good acquisition

Okay there it is. That is my entire offseason wish list for the offense. All comments and opinions are welcome as well as any improvements that you would add. "If you like what you see put a REC on it"

With the loss of backup center Marcin Gortat the Orlando Magic are left with a void in the rotation. This is not a major problem since a backup center will usually only plays 10 minutes a game. The only time it would become an issue is when Dwight Howard gets himself into foul trouble. You would be relying on said player to play up to 20 minutes that game. There has been talk of playing Bass as the backup center with some sprinkling in of Malik Allen.

I just do not see that as a wise move considering Bass is listed at 6'6 and Malik is well... terrible. So I have compiled a short wish list of possible targets that can be had on the cheap. I'm not including players on contending teams since a smart GM would not deal with its main competition.

In no particular order

Ben Wallace, Detroit Pistons

Season Stats: 3.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg, .96 bpg, at 24 mpg

Contract: 10/11 $2,000,000 11/12 $2,250,000

Analysis: Wallace cant do <strike>much</strike> anything on the offensive end but still has his uses. His shot blocking went with his athleticism but he still rebounds pretty well. In all honesty that is the only thing I want the backup center to do.The Magic will have enough trouble finding shots for these new Magic players even on the the second unit. His contract is basically nothing. The problem I see is in actually getting Detroit to deal him. He starts for them when healthy. At some point Detroit will need to forgo the rest of the season and go with their youth movement. My feeling he may become available right before the trade deadline.

Chris Wilcox, Detroit Pistons

Season Stats: N/A (He's only played in 8 games) Career Stats: 8.9 ppg, 5 rpg, .04 bpg, 20 mpg

Contract: 10/11 $3,000,000

Analysis: Wilcox has found himself out of the Detroit Pistons rotation this year which is why his season stats arent impressive. He has recently snuck his way back in as the backup center. The guy is a PF at heart and looks for his shot as such. This in itself is undesirable for this team but he does have a nice FG% on his career. He is not a great rebounder by any means but he has the size and athleticism to defend the position.

David Anderson, New Orleans Hornets

Season Stats: 3.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, .18 bpg, 10 mpg

Contract: 10/11 $2,500,000 11/12 $2,270,000 Team Option

Analysis: David Anderson is the prototypical Euro-center. The Houston Rockets brought him over the pond last season when Yao Ming went down early in the year. He ends up on New Orleans where he's behind Emeka Okafor, David West and Jason Smith in the rotation. I would rather have Jason Smith than him since he is younger, taller and more physical but NO would be stupid to trade him. Anderson does have some nice qualities of his own however. teams have to respect his range and seems to be an ideal fit in a pick and roll scheme. Bass would more than likely have to defend the opposing teams center when David is on the court. Will he be force in the middle? Probably not. Can he defend? Not that I've seen. Will he fit in our offense? Yes

Darius Songaila, Philadelphia 76'ers

Season Stats: N/A (see Wilcox) Career Stats: 7.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 18 mpg

Contract: 10/11 $4,818,000

Most Magic fans will recognize this guy as the annoying white guy on the Washington Wizards. Songaila played for New Orleans last year and pretty much averaged his career numbers of 7 pts 3 rebounds in 18 mpg. So the fact that he is consistent is a positive. We know what we'd be getting. He is a little bulkier that his height and weight suggest which leads me to believe he can hold his own on the block. His contract is a little bit pricier than the other players listed so it may take 1 or 2 guys with a 2nd rd. pick to obtain his services. In any case he woud be a better option than Malik Allen at this point and he knows this division.

Its going to eliminate the cheap, brutal headhunter's who have no place in this game. If Koa Misi wants to find blame then he can blame the fans. Sorry if we don't find it entertaining when players are twitching on the field.

Former Dolphins LB Akin Ayodele was released today from the Denver Broncos. Ayodele had been a starter for Denver and the release surprised Akin. McDaniels was classy as ever in he wouldn't give Ayodele an explanation why he was cut. I really shouldn't be too hard on him since if it wasn't for his douchebaggery we wouldn't have Brandon Marshall and Mike Nolan. The link is a twitter account with Ayodele's reactions

Talking Points from the Phins/Jags game

Just a few of my opinions/ideas from the Phins recent pre-season game. I was at my brother's house when I was watching the game so I missed the actual discussion's during the game. Well here it goes

ARGHHH ANOTHER RAIN GAME!!!! We are very unlucky.

Chad Henne looked good but his internal clock was set to snooze on that near safety play.

I lol'd at the Jags announcer Boseli. He referred to that sequence of plays as "Dominating D." Apparently a QB holding the ball for far too long, a FB dive and a dropped 3rd down conversion pass qualifies as dominating. Good analysis Tony

Marshall has definitely earned the nickname the "Beast" On the same play where Marshall threw the big block to free up Fasano, the corner decided it would be a good idea to press Brandon. Before the snap my bro says "That's not gonna happen" sure enough Marshall destroyed that corner getting off the press. I doubt that corner tried that again

Got Upset with our defense. Jacksonville has 1 count it 1 viable receiving option in Mike Sims-Walker and we didn't gameplan well enough for him. Kind of exposed Bell in coverage which I fear may be a recurring theme. He doesn't have the deep speed to help our corners over the top

I got extremely pissed at Nolan Carroll for allowing that touchdown. We sent an all out blitz and he let his man beat him in oh about.. 2 seconds

Yeaaah there is a major difference in the velocity between Henne and Pennington. Those lobs from Penne are extremely scary. Glad we dont have to worry about that anymore

Our first team O-line did all right. Opened up some nice holes for our RB's. Thought our rb's were going down too easy so the #'s shoulda been better

Our rush D was great. MJD can make you look silly and we bottled him up nicely.

Anyone else catch how badly the Jags wanted to win that game? They had Luke McCown their # 2 QB play the entire 2nd half which was against our 2nd mostly 3rd team defense's. He really showed all our undrafted free agents what's what LOL

All in all a funny, frustrating good game

The club heralded the debuts of Odrick and Misi by placing them on the cover of the game program, with Odrick standing over Misi.

"Oh my God, that picture," Odrick said, rolling his eyes. "It looked like a father-and-son picture: I'm Daddy and I said, 'Hey, son, let's take this picture.'"

The Orlando Magic's roster is nearly complete. As it stands now we have 12 players signed. It is reasonable to assume that the Magic will pick up one more player. The questions is whether said player will be signed for the vet minimum or with our remaining Bi Annual Exception. Its also worth noting the BAE can be split up among 2 players if the Magic so desired. I have compiled a short list of desired candidates after the jump (always wanted to do that) but first Here's a look at the current roster and salary breakdown.

In no particular order is UFA Joe Alexander. Most know of him from his impressive senior season at WVU and by his not so impressive season as a Buck/Bull. If you don't know who this guy is there is a reason for that. He really hasn't done much to date. Click here for his stats. However here are my reasons to be optimistic. Alexander boasts impressive athleticism which is evident in this video for the candidacy of the 2009 Sprite Slam Dunk competition. (he lost the nomination to Rudy Fernandez) With his athleticism aside Alexander has also shown some decent range (35% from 3) albeit from a VERY limited sample size. He should be considered a stretch power forward in the NBA at 6'8 230. This is also painfully obvious in that he predominately (only) has a face up game and struggles rebounding the basketball. Being 24 he still has room for growth and in the right system may have better success. Some might say we already have Ryan Anderson? Why would we need a slightly older worse version of him? My answer would be-- damn that's a good question lemme think about that one...

Umm... still thinking but one with the next option

Yes! Its VONNNNN WAAAFER!!!

As some may remember I had/have a major man crush on Von Wafer during last years FA period. There was so much to like about Wafer on his last year in the NBA. He finally earned some playing time with the Houston Rockets and produced. In 19 minutes a game, he scored 10 pts. a game with 45% shooting. He also shot an unexpected 39% from 3. This performance landed him a big money contract of 2 years 10 million from the Greek club Olympiacos. There was no way any NBA team would have offered anything close to that so he took it and jumped the pond. Wafer then subsequently bombed in Europe and was released after just one year making him an UFA. I am a little worried about the fact he couldn't cut it in Europe which is far less talented than the NBA. There are always outside factors in why players dont succeed in certain situations. Maybe he was homesick, not used to the Euro game, etc. Whatever the case is Von is probably desperate to come back to America and the NBA. Now that he's gotten the money he didnt deserve perhaps he'd be more willing to work for it with the Magic.

Patty Mills is quite possibly the most intriguing player on this list. He has shown flashes of brilliance (20 pts. for his AUS national team vs. USA in the Beijing quarterfinals) but isn't highly regarded by the NBA (drafted 25 in the 2nd round, relegated to Portland's D-League) This leads me to believe that Portland doesn't place much importance in retaining him. So can he be had for the full BAE? Should we try to snag him for the full BAE? I really don't know. I do know that we are still looking for a 3rd PG. I personally want a young developmental guard as our third. Ryan Anderson is really the only young prospect on our team that has any chance to improve/contribute for the Magic (yes I'm including Orton idk what you all say he looks utterly clueless in all areas 'end rant')

So I really want to hear what you all think. And LOOK this thread didn't even mention Chris Pau... DAMN IT!!!

Hey Toronto, I'm a Orlando Magic fan that wants to gauge your interest on a purely hypothetical trade. The entire league and fandom knows what a colossal failure Hedo Turkoglu was for you guys. Just how desperate are you to move him this offseason? Rumors are swirling around that my Orlando Magic are inquiring about New Orleans guard Chris Paul. With my being just plain giddy ove the possibility I decided to surmise a trade that could get this thing done.

My conclusion is right here if interested.

Then the rumors say that the factor that is possibly holding up the trade from getting done is Emeka Okafor. Okafor has 52 million left on his contract in which its obvious NO would want to move him. This is a problem for the magic since Okafor absolutely cannot play with Dwight Howard and cant be a backup C for us playing 8 minutes a night for 12 mill per year.

Here is where Toronto comes in. Yep you guessed it. Your big chance at jetisoning Turks bad contract is to take on Okafor's bad contract. You may think your getting screwed but just hear me out. Bad contracts are bad because all you can get for them are bad contracts in return. Okafor may? (what am I saying WILL) help your team more than Turkoglu. You can shift Barney over to his natural PF spot and let Okie do what Okie does best defend and rebound.

This trade is pretty much contingent on you losing Chris Bosh however since it doesnt make sense for you to do this unless Barney can play the 4. So Im done what do you guys think

Hey Toronto, I'm a Orlando Magic fan that wants to gauge your interest on a purely hypothetical trade.

 	<fieldset class="poll-box">
  <legend>Poll</legend>

Would you trade Hedo Turkoglu for Emeka Okafor?

Don't leave us Bosh...

Cap Total: $30, 344,542

Orlando Magic obtain: Chris Paul, Peja Stojakavic

Cap Total: $30,275,000

Why New Orleans does this?

Vince Carter 17m comes off the books after next year since he has a team option for 18m which NO would be sure to waive. They also obtain a relatively young All-Star PG in Jameer Nelson for roughly half the cost of Chris Paul. In obtaining Marcin Gortat they will give themselves some flexibility in the trade market since Gortat has significant trade value. Whether they wish to keep Gortat or Okafor they would still have a viable option at center.

Why Orlando does this?

Chris Paul is arguably the best PG in the NBA. He has the range, passing, leadership and drive that puts him among the upper echelon of NBA players. The Magic are in desperate need of leadership and playmaking on the wing. Chris Paul provides the knock down shooting required for our system but brings his 10 assists a night as well. Peja Stojakavic is the bad contract/filler in this trade. He may still be able to contribute as a situational role type player since we have a system best suited for his game. The biggest positive however concerning Peja is his 15m expires after next year.

Alternatives:

Okafor 11m and Songaila 4m replaces Peja in the trade

Mickael Pietrus 5.3m and Ryan Anderson 1.4 replace Marcin Gortat

Well there it is. What do you all think? Chris Paul approves...

This year has been a very trying one for me personally. I am one that invests himself entirely into my favorite teams. However, I am quite unlucky since I am a Miami Dolphins and Florida State football fan. I know, I know... I can feel the sympathy thru the computer but dammit i don't want to keep feeling this way. I am accustomed to being disappointed as a fan every Saturday but why did "those" bastards have to go and take my Sundays!!! The Dolphins are driving me crazy. They give me 1-15 season. Then they make the playoffs and now they are smack dab back into obscurity... WHHHYYY!! I hate Ginn!! Why is he so bad... sorry sorry I'll take that to the Phinsider

Alas, there is hope. The Orlando Magic are unbeaten in pre-season and are only getting better each game. I am so happy that I am a genuine fan of a great WINNING organization. This team is made up of right kind of players. Guys that are supremely talented but have the right personality to go along with it. I can't tell you how uplifting it is when your team has guys that you actually like *beneath* the jersey.

So lets get this season started and off to a hot start. I want to see Nelson silence his doubters and prove last season was no fluke. I want Pietrus and Barnes to be absolute terrors in the open court and to piss off the other team by their non-stop aggression. I want somebody to put a microphone in Gortat's face all year. The guy could do stand-up and I would pay ALOT. I want Dwight Howardto step up and become the MVP that he is completely capable of being. I believe that he can do it with the help of this team.

Let's Go Magic! Save me from my misery
