Bullets Forever Hinrich for Brooks, Lee?

I propose that we trade Kirk Hinrich to the Houston Rockets for gaurds Aaron Brooks and Courtney Lee.

Brooks has fallen out of the rotation since hurting his ankle, and recently left a game during the 4th quarter because of frustrations with his lack of playing time. Courtney Lee is an efficient 40% from beyond the arc and would help this teams 23rd ranked defense improve, especially on the perimeter.

I saw a story today that said Minnesota was no longer interested in trading for O.J. Mayo, so I thought about a reasonable trade where the Wizards would be able to pick him up.

Even though i'd hate to see him go, we would probably have to give up Nick Young. We could also throw in Al Thorton to balance out salaries and clear some PT in our SF rotation.

Swap Trojan for Trojan, we give up our pure scorer Nick young for a better overall player in OJ Mayo. Mayo is a better play maker, ball-handler, defender and overall ball player than Nick Young. Yeah Mayo is under contract for a few years but I think him and Wall could be a great back court.

John Wall has proven that he plays his best with another combo guard. We give him some help by significantly upgrading our shooting guard position, while clearing out a crowded position on our roster.

We show flashes but we haven't put it together consistently all season. Why not shake it up?

Hogs Haven Draft UM WR Leanord Hankerson

After witnessing last nights MNF debacle first hand, I believe it's clear that we need to commit providing Donavan McNabb with the appropriate weapons in order succeed in this offense.

The Eagles put on a showcase with the talent they had gathered for McNabb, and proved to us all that it's gonna take more than Anthony Armstrong, Joey Galloway and Keiland Williams in order to compete with the best teams in the NFC, let alone the NFL.

Leanord Hankerson is looking like a young Reggie Wayne this season, while eclipsing his career best 10 TDs with 11 so far this season.

Bullets Forever Trade for J. Crawford?

According to ESPN, Jamal Crawford is going to request a trade from the Atlanta Hawks because they refuse to sign him to a contract extension. I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to trade for an expiring contract, get flexible with our cap space and pick up assets for the future

Bullets Forever James Johnson and Rudy F. Available?

Links direct to Realgm.com articles

The Bulls have been offering forward James Johnson in trades all offseason, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Bulls, Celtics and Knicks have engaged in trade talks with the Blazers regarding swingman Rudy Fernandez, according to a report.

Looks like both of these guys are in unique situations. They are young, promising players who have had some limited success when they've been given playing time. But they play for teams who are not in rebuilding mode and who would like to shed some salary by getting rid of there contracts.

Bullets Forever Xavier Henry's Potential Hold Out

(First off, I'd like to say how proud I am of our team for showing up and dominating the Summer League the way they did. Though the other teams were often over matched by our superior young talent, I feel like our guys played hard and set themselves on the right track to see a lot of action during the pre-season and hopefully into October)

I want to start this post by saying that this is PURE speculation. I have not heard rumors or rumblings about a potential deal going down. But I gotta admit, I've got a HUGE man crush on Xavier Henry and after watching some footage of him and Wall playing together for the Olympic Team (which I have looked for on youtube but can't find) I am convinced that  they could  be one of the most dynamic back courts in the NBA.

Bullets Forever Perspective Restricted Free Agents

We've all heard this year's unrestricted class. With our recent trade for Hinrich, I believe you can reasonably take us our of contention for just about every notable player in this category.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but adding Hinrich leaves us with about 9.5 - 10 million in cap room for 2010. The way our current roster stands, we should be looking to add at least 3 more players. Those spots could be addressed by UFA's and summer league try outs, but one avenue where we could add a very valuable player is Restricted Free Agency.

Bullets Forever Why we should hire Kevin Pritchard

The former Blazers GM was fired BEFORE Thursday draft, but in a true act of duty and love for the game, he requested permission to conduct the teams draft, which he was allowed to do. He went on to trade oft-injured Martell Webster for Luke Babbit, saving the team money and adding a lights out shooter on the perimeter. Pritchard's fate came down the the one bad decision he did make at Portlands Helm...

Bullets Forever Bring in Josh Childress

According to this article,  Childress's Greek team is looking to ship him out due to money problems. ESPN Insider is reporting that since the Hawks want to make sure they have enough to sign Joe Johnson, they will not be looking to bring Childress back. The report also says Childress would like to play for another team.

Bullets Forever The Shape Of Things To Come For Gilbert Arenas

I saw this article about the possibilities for Gilbert Arenas this summer and I'll have to say it's the most in depth and comprehensive analysis i've seen yet. Most people assume we'll just give him away for one year of Eddy Curry contract, which would likely be bought out anyways, but this article examines every team so it clears up a lot of speculation.

Bullets Forever Jazz Look To Trade Boozer

Article Link

Another scenario to help upgrade our fron-court. When healthy, the guy is a monster on the block. He is fierce with his rebounding, he has a excellent back to the basket game and he can be a go to guy in the half court.

Here is a scenario that helps us dump some of our guards and a forward

Real GM Trade Check

We give up James, Stevenson and Blatche for Boozer.

Why would we do this?

We dump a couple of expiring contracts as well as unload some gaurds. We also add a key cog who can help us take that next step.

Why would Utah do this?

They get a couple of expiring contracts, as well as a young "promising" forward who they can play behind their boy Milsap (who is about to get paid big-time). Plus they won't have the drama of dealing with both guys on their team which could cause them a lot of grief down the road, this season.

Boozer only has one year left on his contract. So since we're going for it all now, why not make a move like this. If the guy doesn't work out, f it. His contract is off the books at the end of the year and all we would have given up for a boozer rental is Andre Blatche. I'd even throw a first round pick if it could help our cause. I want to make a run a championship before Lebron, Wade and Bosh swindle their way to the same team and own the nba for the next 5 years.

Bullets Forever Charlie Villanueva

RealGm Link

The bucks have chosen not to tender the guy despite the fact that he had a break-out season. He was 3rd in scoring and 2nd in rebounding for the Bucks last year, so it's clear that he can contribute right away.

Why would we sign him?

I think he would be one of two front-court additions that we need to make. He is not the ideal, low block player that we covet but his all around game would provide excellent depth behind Antwan. He is a huge upgrade over Andray "no-heart" blatche. We would sign charlie to push Blatche out of DC.

I work with a  reporter who played on the same team as Andray for big tigger charity game a few weeks back. Word from him (as well as other guys on the team ex. Fred Smoot, Rudy Gay), and another former espn broadcaster I work with, who is friends with EG, is that AB is a bum who doesn't care about getting better because he already got paid.

What he brings?

An inside outside presence that is comparable to Jamison's. He might not be as smart as AJ on the court, but he is certainly much more athletic and with his long wingspan would provide us with another swatter around the rim. He improved on his outside game a lot last year, by showing an increase in percentage with the extra attempts. But he also brings a suprisingly polished inside game as well. He has an incredibly soft touch for a guy his size, but he can also lower his shoulder and bang inside.

Conclusion

If they opted to go for a talented front court guy like him, we would need a ruffin/etan thomas type of player to come in for the sole purpose of being a junk yard dog in the paint. The reason I think CV would be a good fit is that he would give us immediate assistance in a position that has no depth, but he also gives us a potential star for the future. The dude is 24 years old, averaged over 16 points a game last year. Jamison is still the man but it's naive to think he can play at this level for two or three more seasons. Bring CV in to play behind him for a couple then insert him when the time comes.

Here is a great video of him from last season that I found on

Bullets Forever Patty Mills

Video

20 year old stud who really impressed this past year in both the olympics and in his NCAA play. He is a projected late first round pick. I don't see him slipping out of the first round but if he does, the guy has the makings of a young tony parker.

I've seen teams like phoenix and portland simply sell late first round picks the last couple of years so if there was any way possible to make a deal, I would be all for trading back into the first for mills. He would push javarris and could be insurance for Gil's knee.

Bullets Forever If we dont get the number 1 pick....

Would you guys be ok with us trading the pick we do get, one of our big pieces and one of our young guns for the top pick? I want blake griffen on this team at all costs. I would pull the trigger on this in a heart beat.

It all depends on who gets the first pick and what their needs are but I think we have the puzzle pieces to make a play for the pick, no matter who wins the lottery.

For example:Sacto wins, We give up :

CB3/ Top 3 pick, Blatche

We get: Number one pick, and a salary cap filler who we'll probably waive.

Sacto does this because it fills a lot more holes on their team than blake griffen would be able to fill. They get an allstar SF, a great prospect in either Rubio or Thabeet, and a young promising big man would get play right away.

We get our missing piece. This way we'd be able to start Gil, Dmac, Ajam, Griffen and Bwood. We still have Javelle, nick, mike james, darius and etan coming off the bench. Plus I'd expect to keep our 2nd rounder who will possibly be an impact player depending on who falls.

Bullets Forever Tapscott Not Coming Back

WASHINGTON POST

Flip Saunders? Sam Mitchell? Avery Johnson?

After a fire storm of head coach firings at the begininng of the season, there should be plenty of very good coaching candidates available for us at the end of the season. I like Flip but sam mitchell might be a better fit. What do you guys think about those guys or other potential candidates.

Someone who didn't necessarily hate young guns would be nice too. This season has been lost for months, why the F### is songaila still playing center over mcghee? Makes no sense.

Bullets Forever Summer Dreaming

LINK

Above is the link to a recent Chad Ford article, listing the top ten most likely guys to be dealt during the offseason. Coming in at numbers 9 and 10 are the most attractive guys on the list to wizards fans, Amare and Bosh. So much has already been made about a potential Amare deal that I think i'll talk a little more about the potential of getting Bosh.

The past five season's this guy has worked any lousy display of post defense we've put presented him. This summer will be our best chance to get him. There is no chance of him signing with us during FA, first of all because we won't have the money and secondly, all his buddies are going to be trying to convince him to go where ever he is going.

For Bosh I would, without hesitation, offer our first round pick/ Ajam/ Blatche. This provides toronto with a proven vet who can step in immediatly and replicate bosh's production. It gives them an up and coming player in blatche who is younger than bosh but is quietly coming into his own this season. Unless we win the lottery, we are not going going to hang on to it. We are not a team that is in any position to re build. We are one piece away from being a contender and that pick could mean the difference between being stuck a 5 seed or being tops in the conference.

Bosh would be our garnett. Bringing him into a situation where he can defer to two other stars, and just play his game as it comes to him will help elevate him from bubble all star player to legit superstar. He can rebound, he runs the floor well and he has one of the sickest post games in the league. I would welcome a match up with any other team in the league.

Antawn Jamison has been a consumate professional during his time in DC, so it's unfortunate that these rumors are going to be floating over his head. The reality is that he is an expendible piece that Grunfield and CO would give up in order to ugrade at that position. I look at the sacremento kings of the early 21st century to say that windows for championships can be a lot smaller than you'd think. Their fans, i'm sure, assumed that in those 3 or 4 years of playing some of the most memorable ball this league has seen, they'd be champions. The team's most tenured players in their starting line up are kevin martin, and Beno Udrih. Yeah. Lets make this run while we can and give Mr. Polin the best oppurtunity to win a championship in his lifetime .

I just saw Amare was on the block and I think it's time for us to make some noise. He wants a place to shine and we have dieing for someone to be our low block beast.

A couple of scenarios I could see happening include a
Jamison+ Blatche for Amare straight up. Depending on how desperate the suns get this might also mean we give up our lottery pick. Phoenix benefits because they get a young, up and coming forward in Blatche, and a proven versitle veteran in Jamison. The next scenario would be CB3 and blatche for Amare ( once again risking that first pick) This now benefits phoenix because it provides them with a versitle forward who would do well in a running offense like theirs, and an allstar small forward next to Jrich.

We are not going to make the 2010 Free agency splash because of the deals we gave out last summer. This is a chance to shake things up and make a change for the better. Amare would bring a force to our block that hasn't been seen since Juwan in his prime. With Gil, Nick , CB/AJ, STAT, Haywood, Mcgee, james, d steve and maybe a lottery pick? That's a contender in the east.
