The Only Colors Pitino's advice for Izzo: Forget the NBA (and LeBron?), stay at MSU

"My advice to him would be, if you're really happy where you are, then it doesn't make any sense to mess with happiness," Pitino said. "Happiness is more important than money. Happiness is more important than a new challenge. Also, you're on the threshold of making the Hall of Fame. If he called me, I'd tell him, 'Tom, put yourself in a seat belt and stay at Michigan State.'"

The Only Colors Statements From MSU AD Mark Hollis & President Simon

June 9, 2010

Michigan State Athletics Director Mark Hollis:
"I've been straightforward from the beginning. Nothing has changed from my initial statement, and yet, there have been many ridiculous reports. I'm angry at the impact they have on student-athletes, coaches, wives and children, and other people at universities and organizations. Tom Izzo is the head basketball coach at Michigan State University."

Michigan State President Lou Anna K. Simon:
"I am in regular contact with AD Mark Hollis. I can assure everyone Team MSU is all on the same page in wanting to keep Tom as a Spartan. MSU has many renowned, respected, and highly sought individuals; Tom Izzo surely is one of them."

The Only Colors Future Spartans perform well on national stage

Just goes to show the type of talent Coach D keeps assembling in East Lansing. An unrated kid who more and more looks like he has the potential to be another very solid Cousins-esque quarterback for our beloved green and white.

From the Detroit Free Press

Nice little excerpt here:

“This tall, lean, athletic quarterback has one of the quickest releases in the country. He does need to add some strength and overall size, which will increase his already adequate arm strength. He puts nice spin on his passes and is very accurate at short and midrange throws. Cook has the most upside of any quarterback in this camp and the Spartan fans should be excited."

The Only Colors Colts sign Blair White

As per the Detroit Free Press: Indianapolis Colts have agreed to a free-agent deal with Michigan State wide receiver Blair White, who was not taken in this year's NFL Draft.

Is it just me, or does it really seem like the Lions might have missed out on a hometown talent? I could easily see the dentist developing into the next Brandon Stokely under the tutelage of Peyton Manning. Maybe our friends in Allen Park should seriously consider whether the dreadlocked white boy from Weber State is going to be a good fit.
